grey knit midi dress

Hat (Sorry it's here again!) - H&M, Dress - Primark, Belt - Primark, Bag - c/o La Moda, Boots - c/o Missguided

I’ve had a bit of a blogging fail day. Blogger is being an absolute nightmare, does anyone else think it makes writing a post stupidly difficult?! I've had a break from essay writing to pop into town, only to decide I didn’t have enough money to even contemplate spending & lost a fiver on the way.. Joy!

That’s enough of me being a complete grump! I thought I’d post this outfit as it’s a bit fancy pants for me. I love a bit of dressing up, I just never have enough glam places to go to! The grey Primark dress is an absolute babe. Unfortunately, it doesn’t actually fit.. Sob! I’ve had to give it away & I’m hoping I can find a smaller size at some point. It looks alright in the pictures as I’ve managed with the belt, but my arms are a bit lost in the sleeves aren’t they?! Ha.

Oh & please excuse my face, I was trying to give my skin a break and manage only with lippy. Not surprisingly, it didn’t last long!

a few new purchases

Turtle Neck - H&M (£7.99)
Make-Up Sponge - H&M (£1.99)
Hat - H&M (£7.99)
Rimmel Matte Topcoat - Superdrug (£4.59)
Striped Dress - Primark (£10)
Grey Midi Dress - Primark (£10)

I'm not sure that these few bits justified a whole post of their own.. I thought I'd show you anyway as there are a few little winter bargains. I've suddenly realised that I don't actually own anything warm and sensible. Apparently, I just wear crop tops all year round like a weirdo! Just kidding, but I really am lacking in the long sleeved department.

H&M is one of my favourite shops. I really could have gone a bit crazy in there the last time I went in. Their basics are such good value, I know I'm bound to end up going back to get this turtle neck in every colour available. These days I'm not that much of a fan of Primark.. anyone else think think they've upped their prices & kept the quality the same?! Anyway, I'm not completely slating good old Primark, they do come up with some goodies! The grey dress is my favourite buy, I've seen some way more expensive versions!

Right I'm off to try out my matte top coat.. I'm thinking matte black & short?

disco pants uni OOTD

Hat - H&M, Jumper - H&M, Bag - c/o La Moda, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Disco Pants - c/o Glamorous, Boots - Docs

I think this hat may need surgically removing from my head.. or replacing with one in another colour. It just makes me feel Christmassy and festive the minute I put it on. When my new disco pants arrived I knew I'd end up wearing it with them. Cherry red & black fur is just too hot to be avoided! They are my first pair of 'mock' disco pants and I'm pretty impressed. They don't quite give the 'vacuum packed' effect that the American Apparel versions do, which is kind of good and bad at the same time. I want everything sucked in, but I want to be able to breath. Breathing is definitely easier in these & I've been wearing them with tights to make sure everything is suitably hoisted in!

As I wore this outfit to uni I thought I'd include the bag.. isn't it a beaut?! Pointy studs and tassels  another good combo. My bag collection is getting a bit silly.. I need help!!

black outfit & the cutest bag

Hat - Market, Top - Topshop, Belt - Primark, Skirt - Primark, Chain Ring - c/o La Moda, Watch - c/o Daniel Wellington, Boots - Primark, Bag - c/o Brand Village

You’ve got to appreciate how cold I was taking these pictures. Really cold! I cannot cope with winter, it makes dressing up so boring. Obviously I would be wearing numerous snuggly jackets over the top of this outfit, but seeing me in the same coat and scarf in every post would be so dull. Ha. I need to put my camo jacket down & stop wearing it every day of my life.

I wanted to wear something all black so I could show off my crazy new bag. It might be a marmite sort of thing, but I think it’s too pretty for words! It's so detailed (the little lights & wheels are beyond cute) that it avoids being naff. I think I'm going to wear it with a plain LBD for a night out.. I love having one item that livens things up a bit!

Is anyone else starting to feel festive? I've been watching Christmas films & listening to Michael Buble's Crimble album all week. That man is a god.

lust list #1

Velvet Dungarees - Topshop (£38)
Leather Platforms - Missguided (£53.99)
Mesh Top - Topshop (£22)
White Dress - MotelRocks (£55)
Fur Bag - H&M (£24.99)
Skirt - Topshop (£28)
Lila Beanie - H&M (£6.99)
Studded Biker Boots - Missguided (£43.99)

Sorry this is all very Topshop-y. Everyone knows I have a love/hate relationship with that place. Mainly hate due to the prices & the fact it leaves my poor bank account depressed. Does anyone else think their new in section is a killer?! I’m hoping one day I’ll have enough pennies in the bank to go into Topshop, buy anything I want and not worry about it. & then do my weekly shop at Marks & Sparks. Ha.

The other bits are just some goodies I’ve been lusting after for a while. Missguided do some seriously amazing shoes at the mo, I had to limit myself to two pairs! I really want to get the Motel dress & wear it with the biker boots & lilac beanie.. Ahhh outfit porn.

Rightio, I’m off to go think about doing work/eat white chocolate spread from the tub. Third year uni life is so crazy. Ha.

neon beanie & velvet

 Beanie – H&M, White Top – Topshop, Dress – Topshop, Jumper – c/o SheInside, Leather Jacket – Topshop, Heels – c/o Missguided

Sorry these pictures are a bit all over the place, I've just had a mare trekking back from Sheffield to Leeds. Think motorways, blocked off junctions and a very stressed out Lydia!

I think I've done well today & dressed appropriately for the weather! I've even got tights on. I can’t help but think they spoil it.. maybe fishnets next time?! The dress is from last winter and I still love it. Velvet is my favourite for the colder months, I think even when it goes out of fashion I’ll still be wearing it.

Anyway, as I haven't got anything too exciting to say (shock!) I’ll send you over to my lovely friend Mary who's just started blogging. She always dresses amazing at uni so definitely go check her out, you'll be impressed I'm sure!

chunky heel & cropped knit

Hat - H&M, Sunglasses - H&M, Jumper - H&M, Belt - Primark, Skirt c/o Missguided, Boots - c/o Miss Guided, Bag - New Look

I know I’ve posted similar outfits recently, but today’s post had to revolve around my amazing new shoesies. I’ve finally found something that will stop me lusting after UNIF Hellbounds. The price of them is definitely unjustifiable for me! My new babbas are from the exciting day at Miss Guided HQ that I was telling you about. I don’t want to go into too much detail as I’ll save all that for a big, picture heavy post. Admittedly I was having a nervy b beforehand, but I had nothing to worry about. It was such a lovely day! If you have a look on my instagram (fashioninflux) then you can have an early sneaky peek.

The bag is something I picked up to lug my camera around in. It’s from New Look & was only £22.50 with student discount. I’m making the most of it in my last year at uni! I don’t usually bother with New Look.. I always think of it as a ‘teeny bopper’ kind of place. They have some lovely accessories in there at the minute though. Not good for my bank balance.

beanie & body con midi dress

Beanie - c/o Educate & Elevate, Choker - DIY, Dress - Republic, Cardigan - Charity Shop, Lace Gloves - H&M, Boots - Docs

I only got this beanie the other day but I had to post an outfit wearing it.. Mainly because it has hardly come off my head. I seriously think I might have to start a collection of Educate & Elevate hats, they do the cutest colours. I think a pastel bobble one may have to go on my wish list for Father Christmas. The grey dress is a newbie too. It was only about £11 with student discount. The midi dress love affair goes on!

This post is actually scheduled, (if it works.. if not I’ll be frantically trying to post via the M1!) as currently I should be on my way back from an exciting day at Miss Guided HQ! I’ll fill you all in at a later date.. Check out the #MGbloggershoot for a sneaky peak. I will say that I’m redonkulously nervous.. But excited about meeting a few bloggers that I have followed for years! Eeeek!

I’m not sure when my blog’s birthday actually is. I kept this on private for the first few weeks because I was a complete wuss! But let’s just say it’s about now.

I’m so glad I actually started a blog. I felt a bit of a weirdo at first, I still don’t think that any of my friends get it! It really is a good thing to do though. I’ve met the loveliest people (restored my faith that not all girls are meanies!) and had some great opportunities because of blogging. Big thank you to all of you that put up with my dodgy writing & even dodgier pictures. Love & lots of hugs.

sinstar midi dress & docs

Hat - H&M, Sunglasses - Primark, Choker - DIY, Dress - c/o Sinstar, Boots - Docs, Dalmatian Print Collar - River Island

I am such a fan of midi dresses at the mo. I love having something different to wear in winter, opposed to the usual tights & leggings. I'm more of a comfort girl & I hate being all tucked up in tights! This dress from Sinstar is a newbie to my midi dress collection. I saw Jazz wear a similar one off the shoulders and had to be a big copy-cat. Go have a look at her blog because she looks hottt!

Right, I'm off to be middle aged and make homemade soup. I'm also having a major battle with my hair. Think DIY root touch up resulting in ginger hair. It is not good. Wish me luck!
