wellies & long socks

Hat - Market, Turtle Neck - H&M, Dress - H&M, Belt - DIY (Just a scrap of leather!), Long Socks - Primark, Wellies - Next, Coat - Barbour

I feel like quite the equestrian in this outfit. I look a bit like I should be heading back to the stables to see to the ponies don’t I?! Maybe with a pair of tights on too.. you know I hate those bloody things! These pictures are from a few days ago, hence the very snowy background. For once I went for the sensible option.. Welcome the wellies. They may not be a cute pair of Hunters (still lusting after those babes) but they do the job. I didn’t fall over once in them which is impressive seen as I’m usually like Bambi on ice.

I brought my trusty old Barbs out of retirement for the cold. I got this about four Christmases ago & I think I’ll be keeping it forever! It’s not really my usual style but I do like how classic it is. It's very 'horse riding chic'. Not that I know much about that kind of thing! Ha.

I’m off now to cosy up after getting caught in thunder storms three times today. Wah. My hair is like rat's tails and I'm a little grumpy about summer seeming so far away. I need hot chocolate, a warm bath, bubbles & candles. The only good thing about the cold is having a snuggly night in isn’t it?!

neon beanie & a lot of black

Hat - H&M, Jumper - Primark, Dress - c/o Lavish Alice, Belt - Primark, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Fur Collar - Topshop, Bag - c/o La Moda, Boots - Dr. Martens Serena

Don't hate me cause I'm wearing a classic Lydia outfit.. again! Midi dress, beanie & the new fake fur collar that is likely to be showing its face on here blog quite regularly. I forgot how much I love fur collars. They make any coat look like something different. My Topshop leather jacket is slightly battered and bruised now, so it's spruced it up a bit.

An (almost) all-black outfit for me means minimal effort. I can be a bit picky with mixing colours up.. black is just simple. I don’t know how I’m going to cope in the summer when I have to start wearing colour again! The beanie is probably the brightest thing I own, but isn't it a babe? I should have definitely bought the matching mittens.

I wanted to wear the midi dress but knew I would end up going blue if I didn’t put a few extra layers on. The half dead look isn't cute. Ha. Luckily I found this old Primark jumper.. even though it’s a bit shredded up it kept me toasty enough. I’ve bought so much rubbish from Primark over the years that it’s nice to find something that hasn’t fallen to bits in the first wash!

maxi dress & faux fur collar

Hat - c/o Once Upon A Time, Turtle Neck - H&M, Maxi - Zara, Belt - Primark, Boots - Dr. Martens Serena

First of all I’m going to have to apologise for getting a bit carried away thinking I’m a snow queen. I don’t always realise the extent of my posing when I’m freezing my bits off in the garden. Instead I flick through the pictures once their all done thinking who the hell do I think I am. Ha. A combination of chilly weather, snow higher than my docs & bright sunlight results in my sulky-squinty face. Brilliant!

It was probably the fur collar that set me off. It’s very Cruella Deville isn’t it?! I saw a girl working in Topshop wearing it & she just looked a big fitty. I don’t usually treat myself to an extravagant piece like this. When I say extravagant, I mean more than my usual tenner limit. It is only a fur collar after all & I am a cheapskate. I thought this one was worth it though. It’s nicely made & has a pleather edge. It's  those little details that got me spending almost twenty quid.. Eek I might have to have a lie down!

The dress is one that some of you will remember from the summer. I bought it thinking it was gorgeous, but not having a clue how to wear it. The low back & arm holes make it a bit of a pain to wear.. what bra do you go for?! I’m so glad I popped it with this turtle neck & can finally get some use out of it. I actually think the top makes the dress extra pretty. Mint on black is cayooot.

mint knit jogging bottoms

Hat - H&M, Top - Charity Shop, Belt - Primark, Knit Trousers - H&M, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

I think this outfit is another one of those love it or hate it cases. I’m not sure that everyone will think maroon & mint is a match made in heaven. To be honest, neither did I. I got the top out thinking why am I even trying this with these trousers, it’s going to be terrible, but it kind of grew on me. I get so sick of wearing dark bottoms all the time so mint green joggers definitely mix things up a bit! I know it’s more flattering to wear a dark bottom half but I'm a little biased towards these babes. They were my bargain of the month & I'm a sucker for H&M anyway. They’re so comfy, which means I don’t have to have that if-I-don’t-take-these-trousers-off-soon-I-will-loose-all-blood-circulation-to-my-feet moment.

The top I’m wearing is one of my old charity shop purchases. I kind of fell out of love with charity shop spending but this little gem makes me think I need to get back in to it. Sometimes charity shops come up with tonnes of goods & other times they just leave me reaching for my hand sanitizer! Maybe if I get back to it I’ll do a charity shop haul.. I love looking at all the quirky bits & bobs that other people find in them!

instagram update: a snowy one

FOTD / Cute Bath Bomb / Missguided Shoes / Frankie & Benny’s Lunch / Baby Pink Socks & Docs / Painting Cara / Midi Dress / Bart Simpson Jumper / New Yankee Candle / H&M Mint Jumper / Glam Shop / Playing With Inkwear Tats / Winter Wonderland / Lace Flares / Snow Pictures / Hot H&M Bag / Primark Cushion / New Primark Bracelet / Bargain Pleather Trousers / Fixed iPad YAY / Docs & Snow / Selfie / New Look Purse / Snowy Leeds

I haven’t done an Instagram catch up since Christmas, so I thought I’d post a few recent pictures. I know a lot of people who read my blog follow me on Instagram, but I personally love having a nosey at people’s lives outside of their blogs. Not that mine is all that exciting! I do like having a look back at the month & seeing what I’ve been up to. I thought this bunch of pictures would be extra cute because of all the snowiness.

Some of my favourite things to post on Instagram are the things I want to buy, but can’t really afford. Ahem.. amazing pink bag! What a beauty eh? I’m looking through this post now thinking why I didn’t get some of these goodies. I’d like to say that I’m getting better at controlling my spending habits but I doubt that’s the case.

I hope all of you are managing to stay upright in this snow & ice. I know I haven't.. the last week has made me decide that Hunter wellies are a necessity. Can anyone recommend?! I just need a final bit of convincing.

bargain pleather trousers & mint jumper

Headband - Primark, Sunglasses - H&M, Jumper - H&M, Trousers - H&M, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

Today was a bad picture day. I wanted to show you all how nice these trousers are & I don’t really think I’m doing a very good job! I’ve been looking for a pair just like this for a while now & was so happy when I finally found some. Being a student, I find it hard to part with more than £20 on one thing. Is that just me being tight?! Luckily, H&M came up with the pleather trouser goods. They were marked up at £15 in the sale but I got them to the till & they were £7! How good is that?! I was a very happy bunny. I love sales that are actually really cheap. To me, if there isn’t stuff under a tenner then it isn’t a sale! Yep, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am a cheapskate. Ha.

If you hadn’t already noticed, I’m a bit of a H&M addict at the mo. It’s rare that I were an outfit without a H&M item included. The jumper is another cheap purchase I showed you all in my last haul. Isn’t the colour lovely?! I can’t wait to wear it over pretty dresses in the summer.

I am also wearing sunglasses in January, in the snow. I know it seems a little silly but once again, wearing no eye makeup resulted in my face looking crazy. Is everyone enjoying the snowy weather?! I had to pop the picture of the snow in just because of the kitty paw prints. So cute.

lace flares & cropped jumper

Hat - River Island, Jumper - River Island, Belt - Primark, Lace Flares - H&M, Boots - c/o Missguided, Bag - c/o La Moda

What does everyone think of the landscape pictures? I included a few today as sometimes I feel like you can’t really see the whole outfit. And the scenery was quite pretty. These pictures were taken a few days ago and my garden is now covered in much more snow. It looks lovely, but golly it’s a pain! I’m not keen on falling over or skidding in my car!

I had to get my lace flares out after seeing Lucy look mega gorgeous in hers. I’m really sick of wearing tights and leggings so they make a nice change. They’re very see through so I’ve got a really thick pair of tights on underneath. I think I could have been wearing them in my first year at big school but they’ll do! The jumper I’m wearing has been worn to death since I got it for my birthday. It’s one of those things you can throw on over everything and feel cosy but still look nice. I did have to add my big fluffy parka though.. it’s too cold to get my midriff out!

I think I can finally be a member of the bucket bag club. I loved the Zara one, but it was just a little (fifty plus quid!) out of my price range. This one is from La Moda is only £22, much more reasonable for those of us who are a little hard up. Their bags are always lovely quality for the price.. I spend ages putting all my stuff in the inside pockets & faffing about with the extra straps. Must. Get. A. Life.
