a little haul: accessories, beauty & hair care

Bag - H&M (£5), Ponytail Accessory - H&M (£3.99 ish), Lee Stafford Hot Shots 4 Blondes - Boots (£7.49), Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo - Boots (£6.39), Clinque Chubby Stick For Eyes - (£16), Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara - (£17)

I’m not sure if this justified a post, mainly because if you follow me on Twitter/Instagram then you’ll have heard or seen me raving about a lot of these things. I thought some of you might still be interested in soe of my latest loves so here we go.

Firstly, the Lee Stafford goodies. The shampoo is honestly one of the best hair products I’ve tried. It’s stronger than any other toning shampoo I’ve used. My hair has a tendency to go brassy but I won’t be looking like no poor man’s Barbie anymore! I’m now back to an ash blonde which I prefer.. Be careful though, you can end up with a few lilac streaks! I’m yet to try the hot shots, but I’ll let you know how I go on.

Another new favourite are the Clinque bits. I usually pass up on Clinique.. it doesn’t quite give me that ‘exciting’ feeling that I get from MAC. The new Chubby Sticks for eyes sucked me in though. When I heard about them I knew I had to give them a go.. I've been using mine none stop since then! They’re so easy to use and dry kind of powdery. I was that impressed that I had to pop back and get another the week after.. Whoopsie. I'm always lusting after fancy make up treats at the mo.

My new Converse are a pair I couldn’t resist in the Republic closing down sale. Guuurls you got to get yourselves there! These should have been £47 (would never spend that on Converse!) & were £28! DEAL.

mesh crop top & high waisted leggings

 Choker - DIY, Mesh Top - c/o Pretty Little Thing, Leggings - H&M, Bag - H&M, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

So, I love these leggings. However, I’m starting to realise that they make my behind look extra shapely. There’s a lot of ba-donka-donk going on! I’m going to tell myself that it’s just the cut, & not that all the cake I eat goes straight to my booty.

My top is a newbie that I’m wishing I had for Valentines.. how perfect would it have been?! I’m on the hunt for a little red skater skirt to wear it with for a night out. Mesh, love hearts & a red skirt sounds like a good combination to me. At the mo I’m desperately trying to inject some colour into my wardrobe & get me set up for spring. As much as I love my black & gothy items I’m looking forward to wearing pretty pastel dresses & potentially purchasing some glittery jelly shoes. I need girlyness & I need it now!

I may have a little mini haul coming sometime this week.. the bag above will be in it but I couldn’t wait to show you it! I’ve picked up a few bits & bobs that I want to rave about if anyone wants to hear about my latest obsessions?!

I love cats tee & hold ups

Choker - DIY, Top - c/o Hero and Cape, Skirt - c/o SheInside, Hold Ups - Primark, Flatforms - Similar Here

Have you noticed a difference about this post? I’m wearing my hair up! Well.. for few pictures anyway. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve posted pictures where my hair hasn’t been down. I hardly ever have my hair completely up. I’m just not very good at making it look fancy like that! It always ends up in some bumpy pony tail mess which leads to me having a big strop.

What do you think to the cat tee?! Anyone who knows me knows that I am a mad cat lady, so it’s very appropriate. Any cat in the area is welcome for extra biscuits at mine, even the chubby old ones. Enough cat talk, I sound like I’m advertising my home as a cat shelter. The tee is a lovely hand printed number that has been added to my collection of slogan print tops.. I don’t think you can have too many of them! I love being able to pop on some boring bottoms with a cutesy tee & feel sort of ‘put together’. I'm thinking my over worn pleather trousers will look perfect with it.

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post, I'm feeling much perkier after my dissertation disaster! People on here being extra sweet & supportive during my dramatic moment honestly made my day a lot better.

maroon dress, checked jumper & heels

Yin Yang Necklace - DIY, Dress - c/o Rule 1, Checked Jumper - TJ Hughes, Boots - c/o Missguided, Batman Logo Ring - c/o Truffle Shuffle

It’s official, I’m the biggest pouty poutster in the blogosphere. I think it’s something about a dark lippy that makes do it.. stop Lydia!

I’ve gone & added to my midi dress collection again. Whoops. I’m a sucker for a body con too, so this one was bound to end up in my life. I wore it for a little day trip with my mum & nanna, both approved. Somehow I ended up popping a rather scruffy jumper with it.. I got this for £3 in the men’s section at TJ Hughes & have worn it on numerous chilly days. It may be ugly, but I’m sure I’m not the only person with an old jumper that I can’t help but go back to. It’s almost a comfort blanket. Ha.

I’m rushing through this post (sorry!) as I’ve just had a major work crisis. I’ve spent the whole day doing finishing off a significant part of my dissertation for it to disappear off my computer completely, despite me saving it religiously. Think me having a major nervy b & mascara all over my face. Ugh life!!

Boohoo #globalstyler

Hat - c/o Once Upon a Time, Fur Collar - Topshop, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Dress - c/o Boohoo, Studded Socks - DIY, Bag - New Look, Boots - Aggy X Dr Martens

It’s amazing what a snowy background can do for making you look rather bronzed. I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago, when my garden was looking more like Narnia. I’m sure you’ll all have heard about it but Boohoo are running a really cool competition to win a trip of a lifetime.. eeek! I wouldn’t say no to that. The last proper holiday I had was 10 years ago.. Tres tragic! All the deets for entering can be found here.

Oooh & guess what?! The dress I'm wearing has been reduced to £8 in the sale! That’s the kind of price I can deal with.. under a tenner. Ha. Yes this isn’t the most practical outfit, but I’m gonna whack on a pair of chunky tights & hope for the best.

hellbound lookalikes & grey vest

Hat - H&M, Turtle Neck - H&M, Saved By The Bell Bayside Tigers Vest - c/o Truffle Shuffle, Pleather Trousers - H&M, Hellbound Lookalikes - c/o Missguided

I think this is the first post where I’ve ever included a ‘silly’ picture. Sometimes posing like a loser in your back garden gets a bit boring.. that & I’ve started thinking that people will assume I’m the biggest grump ever! My pictures are usually quite miserable looking, but I do smile I promise! I’m not really good at the quirky-cute kind of look, I just end up looking odd. Ha.

I wanted to pop these pictures up as quick as possible, mainly because I’m realising that my much loved fur hat has a limited lifespan. For this winter anyway. How am I going to cope without wearing hats every day?! I’ve got to the point where I feel weird when I don’t wear something on my head. A summer replacement for beanies & woolly hats is much needed. I tried on the beautiful Zara flat brimmed fedora kind of thing the other day & fell in love. Unfortunately, I can’t cope with parting with that much money on a hat at the moment. They do it in black & khaki too which is a killer.. of course I want both! Does anyone know where I can get a similar one for around a tenner?!

Yesterday I had an extra lovely day shopping with my mamma & getting our make up done. Naturally, I made a few sales purchases. There may have to be a cheapskate goodies haul soon.. I will also be living on Asda's 20p super noodles for the week. FAB.

Evil Twin yin yang jacket & maxi skirt

Hat - H&M, Jacket - c/o Evil Twin, Top - Topshop, Belt - Primark, Silver Cuff - H&M, Skirt - c/o Missguided, Boots - Serena Dr. Martens, Bag - V. Old Gift (Similar Here

Can we all just take a minute to appreciate how hot this jacket is?! I think I’ve got my hands on a piece of denim heaven. That’s my new summer jacket sorted! Last year it was the camo print, this year I think this yin & yang beauty will do. I can already see it with a little mint dress & Docs with flowers through the laces. Yes, I am living in a dream world where the UK actually gets warm enough for such outfits. Please weather, can we have warm summer evenings this year?!

I wanted to show off the jacket in all its prettiness, that’s how I’m justifying another all black outfit anyway. I thought the bag went perrrfect & was kind of appropriate what with Valentines yesterday. For some reason it had been hiding in a drawer looking all unloved. I love finding something you completely forgot about.. it’s like going shopping via your own wardrobe!

How was everyone’s Valentines?! I didn’t do anything fancy.. I struggle to do romance at the best of times (such a misery ha) but I loved how Instagram was full of cuteness. Flowers, chocs and candles, very pretty indeed. Mine was more big fat takeaway & uni work. Ha.

denim dungarees & black turtle neck

Scrunchie - Primark, Beanie - c/o Educate Elevate, Turtle Neck - H&M, Dungarees - c/o Nordic Poetry, Boots - Aggy X Doc Martens

Finally, I’ve got round to posting this outfit. I put a picture of it on my Instagram a week or so ago but kind of forgot about it.. whoops. I don’t know why cause it’s one of my faves! I usually end up loving the outfits that are really simple. Dungarees & a turtle neck.. can’t go wrong with that can ya? Yes, I am a bit of a walking throw back to the 90s but for me that’s not a bad thing.

My hair is probably the most ‘90s’ part of my outfit. How good are scrunchies?! I’m trying to stock up on them.  I’m thinking of getting a few velvet ones next. My hair is the sort that never looks nice in a slicked back ponytail.. it’s like bump central with a rats tail hanging out the back. Not hot. Ha. A scrunchie is about the only thing my hair can handle. I do feel a bit naked with my hair up though, even with it just off my face. I hide behind it way too much!

I've got a few new (& very pretty) things I want to blog about this week but taking pictures has been put on hold due to more snow. Will it ever end?! My camera just isn't taking to getting turned into a snowball whenever I want to take bloggy pics. Summer needs to hurry up.
