new baby pink hair

Choker - DIY, Top - c/o SheInside, Trousers - H&M

I posted about my new pink (ish) hair on Instagram & Twitter, so I thought those of you who haven't seen it or want a bit of a closer peek wouldn't mind this post! You’re probably looking at these pictures thinking this isn’t much of a drastic change, but for me it’s quite a biggie as I’ve literally always had the same hair. Other than the odd disastrous moment (I have had a few bleaching mishaps in my time!), my hair has always been quite long & blonde. I fancied a bit of My Little Pony hair so thought I’d give the L’Oreal Pastel Toning Conditioner in Pink Panther a go. What do you think to the results?! It’s kind of a backwards ombre isn’t it? I quite like that, I love the traditional way of having coloured tips but it’s nice to try it the other way round.

The pink is only supposed to last a few washes so it’s worth a go if you’re a bit of a scaredy cat like me. I only left it on for 5 minutes instead of 15 as I had a massive panic thinking it was going to ruin my hair.. I definitely wish I’d not been a wimp & had gone for the 15 now! Have any of you guys tried these semi-permanent dye thingymabobs? I know a lot of people said it didn’t work for them, so I wouldn’t get it if you’re expecting amazing results. I used plenty of toner beforehand & lots of my blonde bits are really light, which probably helped. I'd say it's definitely worth a go if you're fancying a change for a few days.. I wanted pink for the Easter Bunny! Now lets all go our body weight in chocolate.

high street haul: clothes, make up & general naughty purchases

Sweater Dress - H&M (£15), Cream Knitted Jacket - H&M (£7), Urban Decay Eyeliner Set - Debenhams (£16), MAC Lip Pencil in Half-Red - (£11.50), MAC Lipstick in Captive - (£14), Stylfile Emergency Nail File - Boots (£4.99), Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot - Boots (£7, normally £10.50!), Lush Pop In The Bath Bubble Bar - (£2.90), Lush Dream Time Bath Melt - (£3.15), Lush Dragon's Egg Bath Bomb - (£3.20)

This is what happened. I went out & bought myself a set of ‘birthday present’s, for NO APPARENT REASON. Good move Lydia. I haven’t actually been properly shopping for a good few weeks & when I checked my bank I realised I’d saved a lot more than I’d thought. Notice the past tense. Ha. We all have those days where you just want to buy whatever you like & not worry about it, right?!

I managed to pick up a few bargains & a few other things I’ve been wanting to treat myself to for a while. I finally got past the horrendous ‘are you alright, would you like a demonstration?’ sales techniques that you can’t avoid in Lush.. I love that place but sometimes you just want to have a browse don’t you? I'm big on having a nice bubble bath to chill out after doing work all day so I’m gradually stocking up on bath time treats.

The H&M jacket was my bargain of the day, £7 for a knit biker style jacket! I thought I could swap it with my leather to avoid wearing so much black. I’ve got pictures wearing both clothing items on my Instagram (fashioninflux) if you want a peek!

My biggest treats were make-up purchases. I never spend too much on clothes but will quite happily part with a silly amount of money on a lippy. I just feel like it’s more of a luxury don’t you think?! I justified getting the pack of six Urban Decay eyeliners as it was a good deal, I’d probably have spent a tenner on just one anyway. I love their liners so I know I’ll get plenty of use out of them. If any of the other products are anything to rave about then I’ll definitely be back with an update!

grey dungarees & BOY crop top

Hat - Primark, Top - c/o SheInside, Belt - Primark, Dungarees - c/o Mary Jane Fashion, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens, Leather Jacket - Topshop

Yes, this post is me stood in a blizzard. The snow didn’t seem like it was going to stop anytime soon so I decided to crack on taking some pictures anyway. I wasn’t quite as brave as I was with my last outfit, I had to add a pair of tights & my old leather jacket to keep me warm.. ish. I really want to go buy lots of pretty spring outfits but at the moment all I’m thinking about is turtle necks & jumpers. Ohhh & it’s nearly April.. what is going on?!

The dungarees I'm wearing have been added to my growing collection. Aren’t these ones pretty little things? I think grey makes a nice change from black yet it still goes with most other colours. I love this pair as I can pop a belt on with them & feel less of a child.. dungarees do have the tendency to make you look like a 5 year old.. not a good look when you're in your twenties! Ick wish I could still say teens. Ha.

The top popped underneath is another cheapo version of a BOY London one. I don’t feel like I’m doing them out of any pennies as my student loan doesn't really cover spending £40 on a little tee. Ha. I’m thinking a little red skirt would look cute with it? That’ll be an outfit for when it gets a bit warmer!

backless body

Sunglasses - H&M, Fur Coat - H&M, Backless Body - Missguided, Skirt - H&M, Belt - Primark, Platform Trainers - Charity Shop, Lippy - MAC Dark Side

I’m crazy, I know. There’s a silly amount of snow around me & I’m wearing next to nothing. Why should this horrible weather stop me showing you my new backless body?! Admittedly, I ain’t gonna be going out in this outfit for a while. It's more something for a night out, even though I'm not sure sure if I’m brave enough to wear it at all, there is a lot of boob & back going on. I think I’d be frightened of looking down on a night out & realising I had one escapee breast. Ah well, it was under a tenner so I thought I’d get it & see how it goes!

The skirt is actually a dress from H&M. I just popped the body part inside.. I don’t actually own many skirts so this had to do! I am actually wearing two pairs of knitted tights underneath, so while my top half was freezing my pins were nice and toasty. Who am I kidding, I cannot justify this outfit at all. Ha.

Today was a bit of a naughty day. I've been having one of those stressy/horrible/everything going wrong weeks, which meant retail therapy was a necessity. I'd saved more money than I'd thought so I bought a few treats & boy it felt gurrrd. Ha. Highstreet haul sometime in the future?!

corset & knit midi skirt

Choker - DIY, Coat - c/o SheInside, Corset Thingymabobby - John Lewis, Belt - Primark, Skirt - Primark, Boots - Dr. Martens

I’m guessing you’ll have realised these pictures aren’t from today. Oh my days it is snowy up North. My area has got well over a foot of the stuff so I thought you’d let me off with trekking out to take blog pictures! Today I’ve been for a walk with my mamma in the woods so I did get chance to take a few pictures while we had a wander. My outfit basically consisted of lots of layers & wellies.. not exactly on trend! If anyone does want a nosey at the outfits I don't get chance to post on here then there’ll be plenty of pictures on my Instagram (fashioninflux).

The little corset thingymabobby I’m wearing is actually what I wore under my dress for prom. Depressingly, that was over 5 years ago now.. when did I get so old?! I’m definitely going to be wearing under some form of sheer shirt when the summer finally arrives. Having a dig through my wardrobe for things that have been forgotten about is always fun.. especially if they still fit! Precisely why we all love shoes. Ha.

Is everyone else having fun in the snowy stuff? It is pretty but I’m very miffed that it has meant that my Saturday night takeaway is off the cards.. I'm definitely snowed in for the foreseeable future.

mini charity shop haul & outfit layouts

OUTFIT 1: Top - c/o Pretty Little Thing, Short - Charity Shop, Beanie - c/o Once Upon A Time, Creepers - Ebay
OUTFIT 2: Dress - Charity Shop, Belt - Primark, Glasses - Missguided, Platform Trainer - Charity Shop
OUTFIT 3: Shirt - Charity Shop, Beanie - River Island, Shorts & Platform Trainers - As Before

Bit of a different post today. It sounds daft, but I sometimes get sick of constantly seeing my face on here! There's only so many times I can look at that grumpy expression I've got. Ha. I popped to the charity shops this morning so I thought it was the perfect time to show you my purchases, the pink shorts & crazy 90s platform trainers. I bet some of you are thinking I've lost it.. my mum definitely will! I know, they're pretty ugly but I couldn't resist. If I pretty them up with some cute frilly socks I think they'll look alright. Us shorties all need a bit of height, even if it is in the form of ugly old trainers.

The shorts were a bit of an impulse buy. I really do not need to be buying any more pairs, but I was sucked in thinking I can have a DIY sesh with them. They're probably going to get bleached a bit & have some pastel colour added.. maybe lilac? If they turn out okay I'll probably sell them so keep an eye out for how I get on!

What do you think to the outfit layout sort of thing? I love posting them on Instagram & having a nosey at other people's.. sometimes it's nice to see an outfit without thinking 'yeahhh that wouldn't look like that on me'. Ha.

pleated mini skirt & crop top

Choker - DIY, Crop Top - Primark, Coat - c/o SheInside, Skirt - Topshop, Belt - Primark, Bag - c/o Pineapple, Socks - DIY, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

I’m starting to think my wardrobe is a modern copy of Cher’s from Clueless. Actually, if that was the case I would be a happy bunny. The outfits on that film are too cool aren’t they?! Next Halloween I am definitely going as Cher.. I’m on the lookout for a yellow plaid suit as of now! I definitely need to have a charity shop spree.

That was all a bit off topic, but sometimes there’s only so much you can say about clothes. Ha. I wear what I like and sometimes there isn’t really much else I can add.. does anyone else ever end up feeling that way when writing up outfit posts?! Maybe my dissertation has just completely fried my brain. Anyway, I’m wearing a couple of favourites that I’ve acquired over the winter. My coat has been worn to death & was definitely worth not spending a daft amount of money at Zara. Gotta love a bargain. The skirt is another much loved item, it was £10 from Topshop (I know.. unusually cheap for them!) & goes with all my baggy jumpers & crop tops.

P.S. Biiig thanks to everyone that's followed me on bloglovin' / said they voted for me in the Company Blog Awards. You made that grumpy face I'm always accidentally pulling much more cheerful looking!
