charity shop maxi skirt & lace

Top - Charity Shop, Hat - Boohoo, Bag - c/o Paul's Boutique, Necklace - ,Skirt - Charity Shop, Sandals - Primark

Even though it's still insanely hot, me and my mumma decided to go for a coffee. Sometimes you just need it, don't ya?! We went to so,e cute secret garden esq cafe and managed to get a few outfit snaps on the way.

Like today's outfit, I do sometimes end up wearing all charity shop stuff. A lot of my favourite things in my wardrobe are from my local chazza shop. The lace top above is something that probably cost me about 50p. I've worn it so much and it's something that I'm unlikely to see on the high street. While I'm not one to be like 'ooh I'm not wearing that everyone's got it', it is nice to find something a little bit different. There's always that victorious feeling you get in charity shops when you find something that would be £30 in Topshop for a couple of pounds.

floppy summer hat & shorts

Hat - Boohoo, Jumper - c/o Glamorous, Shorts - Charity Shop & DIY, Heels - Boohoo

I know that currently it's beyond comprehensible to even think about wearing a jumper, but we all need something to throw on over stuff when the summer night gets a bit cooler. I am by no means complaining about the weather.. It may be insanely hot but I have an excuse to get my pins out every day. That. Is. Brilliant.

The big floppy hat is coming with me to New York so I can have my 'I'm Carrie Bradshaw' moment. Ha. It's one of those things that instantly gives you an injection of glam, and in this make up melting weather that is definitely needed.

tartan dungarees & sheer sleeved shirt

Jumper - c/o Glamorous, Tartan Dungarees - c/o Glamorous, Belt - Primark, Shoes - Boohoo
I feel a bit like I'm about to do the highland fling in this post. My ma did take a few snaps where I was prancing around pretending I was playing bagpipes but they were way too cringey to ever see the light of day.. Unless I do eventually create another outtakes/Lydia-looking-like-an-idiot post?!

I don't mind adding some tartan to my ever growing collection of dungarees though. They still go with plenty of things that are already in my wardrobe so that's lots more dungarees' outfits. Lovely! The best bit about these ones is that they're really soft and loose, so you can let the food baby hang out on  lazy days and smarten them up with heels and a belt for a night out.

all white outfit & DIY skirt

Top - H&M, Skirt - Charity Shop Shirt, Cuff - H&M, Heels - Boohoo

This post is a bit weird compared to my usual stuff. My mum was having a clear out which resulted in a mirror ending up in the garden. Being a blogger I merely saw a mirror as an outfit picture opportunity.. I promise I'm not simply the most vain girl in the land (well, maybe not quite.. Haha). I edited them all a bit badly (photoshop is not my thaaang!) but I thought the snapshots might still be worth posting.

I mainly wanted to show you this outfit because the skirt is a really easy DIY. I'm yet to find myself the perfect white skirt, so I improvised with tying a white shirt around my waist. I think it looks pretty cool to say it was just something I dragged out my wardrobe.. A bit like the cheap girl's Rihanna for River Island collection?!

missguided basics skirt & studded snapback

Snapback - c/o Daisy Street, Top - c/o Emma Warren, Silver Cuff - Primark, Skirt - c/o Missguided, Sandals - Primark

A lovely summer's evening meant that taking blog pictures was an essential activity. I know I will look back on posts like this in the deep dark depths of winter and wish for this wearher, so I will make the most of it.

The top I'm wearing is from Emma Warren's boutique and is mega adorable. It's the sort of thing that'd look great at a festival. Gimme this cute cropped tee, some Levi's and wellies and I'd be off. Ha, I wish!

I wore it with my new 'go to' black skirt. I've got numerous different styles, but I'm loving this one with the big slide split. It's great for those of us who aren't so big on flashing the pins.. A little glimpse is better than an awkward exposure!

beach day outfit

Hat - Boohoo, Top - H&M, Trousers - Primark, Sandals - Primark

Last week involved the annual summer day trip to the seaside. Living in Sheffield, I'm pretty much stuck in th middle of the country, so a chance to be dressed for a wander on the beach is much appreciated. Can I just say how lovely does the beach look?! I think it's way more exotic looking than beaches up north usually look!

I actually had these trousers in my 'To eBay' pile. A pile that I never seem to get through, and when I do, I make about 30p profit. Luckily, these floral beauts have been saved from the dreaded 99p auction winners. They were just the sort of comfortable fit I needed for a less than thrilling car journey.

I fly to New York in the morning which is crazy/exciting/a little bit scary! If all goes to plan, this time tomorrow I should have just arrived! Arrrgh! I'm not great with flying so I'm going to have to be brave for 8 hours.. Fingers crossed that there's a good film on to keep me occupied! I will be blogging this week too.. Bit of a blogging addict aren't I. Ha.

holiday wardrobe sneak peek

 White Sandals - c/o Deichmann (£19.99), T-Shirt - H&M (£7.99), Bracelets - H&M, Clear Clutch - New Look (£9.99), Cut Out Boots - Topshop (£38.00)
I went and got the last few bits to add to my case this weekend. Unfortunately, I managed to lose a Boots carrier with some stuff in. SO cross with myself, I'd bought my 'holiday nail varnish' and everything!

Anyway, what did make it home with me is all in this post. As per, I've ended up buying extras that weren't on my list. The black boots were my treat for recently getting a part time jobby to see me though internships (hello Motlon Brown sales assistant.. Ha ;)). I also decided I needed a pair of lightweight boots to take with me on my jollies as I just can't be parted with boots for a week. I'm currently hoping I can wear them in enough to be completely comfy for stomping round the streets of NY.

The other pair of shoes are to wear with white outfits. There's a bit of a white trend going on with the things I bought isn't there?! I just think it's so clean and smart looking for summer. Would have been even better with the white Essie polish that got left behind at Meadowhall. Ugh!

off the shoulder dress

Choker - DIY, Dress - c/o Lashes of London, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

When this dress arrived, I knew it was completely dreamy. It’s like 90s Cher from Clueless esq. number.. Obviously a hit with me! Anything that is an off the shoulder fit is a hit with me. I always think a bit of a collar bone is a good way to flash some flesh. Especially when you’re feeling at your summer bronze peak. I love the pale and interesting look, but when it gets to summer I want to feel like I’ve got my tan on. I’m not looking for a TOWIE style varnish, just a little glow!

I opted against heels with this dress as really, I don’t wear them all that much. I would love my life to be a tad more glamorous, so that I could spend my days tripping about to exciting meetings in Louboutin’s.. but that’s something to aim for right?! For now, I’m a chunky boot girl and that will do for me.

I’m off now for an evening purchasing last minute bits for my holiday (did I tell you I was going to NY?! Haha.. just kidding!). Is it sad that I'm mostly excited about planning outfits & showing you all?!

holiday lust list

I will say that this post isn’t sponsored by Missguided & Motel.. Ha! They were the first two sites I went on while I was looking for my ‘dream’ holiday wardrobe and basically, I wanted everything. BOO. They’re definitely filling the gap that Nasty Gal has left on the UK market.

We can all dream right?! This time next week, I’ll be in New York. ARGH. I know, I’m sure you’re all thinking ‘Lydia will you please shut the hell up about this holiday’ but it is such a big deal for me & something that my and my ma wouldn’t have even dreamed about! Now, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t exactly the sensible holiday lust list. This is the clothes-I-wanna-be-strutting-round-in lust list.

Currently, the top of my list consists of things to lug my stuff around in (bag, Ipad case, make up bag etc), some lightweight boots and a fancy polish to give my nails a treat before I jet off. As I said.. all necessities. Ha. I would like to take a few 'statement' pieces with me.. errrm can we all have a minute to rejoice about the crazy but cute 'tash bag?!

graduation pictures & outfit!

Dress - Vesper via Asos, Bag - Vivienne Westwood (Well done mumma!), Shoes - Boohoo

So graduation came and went all too quickly. You spend three years & thousands of pounds for that daft bit of paper to say 'yep, I'm not as thick as I look' and the big day itself is over before you know it! I thought I'd post my outfit as the dress is a little beauty & I know there will be plenty of people getting ready to graduate (big congrats!).

Dress wise I'd had a manic panic a few days before hand as I couldn't find anything I liked.. Admittedly, I was being picky. I wanted something classy but not too girly, black was a definite no & it had to fit just right. In comes ASOS with this number from Vesper.. Thank god for next day delivery ey?!

My Viv clutch is courtesy of my lovely mumma who will have probably spent months saving up for it.. Bless her. I think she wanted to get me something special as she knows that uni has been a bugger for me at the best of times! She did so good with her choice & I will always be grateful for having a ma that knows me so well.
