new winter jacket

Dress - Totally Forgot (BAD BLOGGER!), Jacket - c/o MinkPink, Belt - Primark, Boots - Aggy X Dr Martens
Lippy - Illamasqua (Ignite)

Hey there pretty little jacket. It’s a good 'un isn’t it?! I always struggle finding a jacket to bridge the gap between sunshine & the freeze ya bits off cold that we will no doubt soon be getting. For the next month or so, I just need something I can throw on when I think something snuggly is required. I love wearing it open because of those big lapels.. they make me feel all fancy! MinkPink always pull it out the bag.. has anyone else been adding everything from their A/W collection to their wish lists?!

I blogged about this maxi dress at the start of the summer, but I actually think I'm going to get more wear out of it this season. I always think that maxi dresses/skirts are a fab way to cover up your legs (mine are losing any sort of summer glow & now make you think 'plucked chicken'.. boo), without feeling too tucked up like you can do in tights. I'd say a maxi dress is an underrated A/W wardrobe essential. You can layer them with so many things to keep the cold out. Oh & they look lush with Docs.. that's me sold!

primark pinafore dress

Choker - DIY, Dress - Primark, Top - Primark, Bag - c/o La Moda, Boots - Aggy X Dr Martens, Ring - c/o John Greed Jewellery

I try to stop myself from buying too many ‘little bits’ from Primark. You know, that £5 top that you really don’t need. I’m trying to be much more of a quality over quantity kind of girl these days.. Buying one slightly more expensive treat rather than lots of other little things. Evidently, I’ve failed at sticking to that. Sometimes though, Primark does come up with wardrobe staples that are too good to leave behind. Finding something that wouldn’t look out of place in Topshop is a mini achievement don’t you think?!

As it’s such a cutesy dress (I probably had something similar in my wardrobe when I was about three), I popped it with my big, clumpy Docs to avoid looking like a toddler. I haven’t worn them in ages despite loving them dearly.. They’re so heavy that it has to be a day when I feel my pins can hack lugging them around! It’s tradition now for me to annually add a pair of Docs to my life. I’m thinking the classic black leather ones may be a sensible option?

bell bottom sleeve dress

Hat - Boohoo, Jacket - Missguided, Dress - c/o Gypsy Warrior, Heels - Missguided

Apparently, bell bottom sleeves make you do silly things with your arms. Ha. Well, it would seem so anyway. There's just not a good way of showing them off without flouncing about like you're Florence Welch. If the neighbours hadn't already confirmed that the girl at 23 is a fruit loop then they will have now.

I do love bell bottoms. Whether it's on trousers or sleeves, I think they're always a flattering fit. This style is going to take me through to winter.. Although I will definitely/reluctantly be adding tights soon enough. Gypsy Warrior has the coolest stuff, I know you're all going to be lusting like I am. I go on there & decide I need a new wardrobe. A new wardrobe that I cannot afford. It's the same old story isn't it?! Want clothes. Can't afford clothes. Ha.

thigh high boots & slouchy jumper

Glasses - Missguided, Jumper - c/o Gypsy Warrior, Shorts - Boohoo, Boots - Boohoo

I'll tell you where the hair inspo came from. After seeing the redonkulously cute Mollie King sporting a side plait, I decided I'd have a go. Evidently, I'm no Mollie King & the final effect isn't quite the same.. But it's something different isn't it?! Long hair can get so boring, I'd love to try something like a little pixie crop for the day.. Then retreat back to the comfort of my long locks.

So these are the thigh high boots I was telling you about. I'm still on the lookout for even higher ones but these are going to be just fine for now. I want to avoid wearing tights for as long as possible & figured these would be a good way to do so. I did have to modify them a little, they weren't quite tight enough around my thighs so I added some holes in the top, some shoelaces & now they have some corset esq detailing.. If that makes sense!

My top is a slouchy dream from Gypsy Warrior. In. Love. It's so soft, a little babe for layering up & has that fancy yin yang stuff going on. My A/W wardrobe approves.

birthday lust list

1. Patent Dress - Topshop (£58), 2. Acne Sweatshirt - Farfetch (£158.22), 3. Black Shearling Jacket - River Island (£90), 4. Mother of Pearl Ring - Thomas Sabo (£99), 5. Black Stud Overnight Bag - River Island (£60), 6. Samsung Galaxy Camera - Currys (£389.99), 7. Wool Boyfriend Coat - Topshop (£98), 8. Strappy Triangle Bra - Topshop (£18), 9. Notebook - ASOS (£7.95), 10. Glam & Soul Ring - Thomas Sabo (£134), 11. Jeffrey Campbell Missionary Boots - Solestruck ($199), 12. Silk Mini Skirt - Topshop (£55)

Now, this post is in no way a realistic representation of my birthday lust list. I definitely won’t be expecting my ma to go out & spend mega bucks on me, nor would I want her to.. but it’s always nice to have a ‘dream’ list don’t you think? You know, the sort of birthday presents you’d buy yourself if money was no object.

Most of the things on my lust list are the things I’m currently trying to hunt down.. with a cheaper price tag. Of course Topshop would have the perfect long coat, & of course it would be a million miles out of my price range! I’m looking for a bright coat this winter.. is anyone else sick of all the dull A/W colours already?!

My other major lust is the Samsung camera. It's a blogger's dream right?! I've become a bit of a perfectionist with pictures. I just like taking them.. & yes, I am that annoying person that takes a picture of everything! For me, blogging is about documenting stuff, & taking pictures of everything from my cat to my favourite lippy is now part of it!

white jumpsuit outfit

Sunglasses - Acquired During Freshers, Jumpsuit - c/o Glamorous, Creepers - Ebay
Lippy - MAC Dark Side

There isn’t much to this outfit, mainly because I don’t think you need much with this jumpsuit. Isn’t it fancy?! I have a new found jumpsuit love. This may even be my first one, but I’m sure I’ll be creating a collection soon. It’s like walking around in a posh onesie isn’t it?! At first, I was a bit worried that I was going to look like I was in those suits forensic people (I’m sure there’s a technical name for that profession..) wear. Luckily, that little drawstring waist pulls it all in & manages to keep it smart but still quite feminine.

Now, don't be thinking that my sunglasses are from some funky, hipster brand called 'Acquired During Freshers'. They literally were acquired during freshers. Ha. I'm sure they belong to one of my friends, but I think after three years it's safe to say they have been adopted.

cami top & knee high boots

Fedora - Missguided, Necklace - Topshop, Sunglasses - H&M, Jacket - H&M, Cami - c/o Glamorous, Leggings - Primark, Knee High Boots - 4+ Years Old! (basically I can't remember.. sorry!)

Some of you may have seen on Twitter that I’ve been on the hunt for flat, tight, thigh high boots. Apparently, they have yet to be invented in my price range. Since taking these pictures I’ve managed to find a pair from Boohoo that I can’t wait to blog about.. But I’m still on the lookout for some a little bit higher & slightly more ‘Pretty Woman’. I know, my Nanna’s jaw will hit the floor, but I think with the right outfit they will be the perfect winter boot.

I actually dug these boots specially to wear with this little cami top. Camis are all over right now aren’t they?! I know they don’t look very practical for the upcoming chilly weather, but I’m going to be wearing mine over turtle necks as soon as the goose bumps set in. Gone are the days where I would risk freezing & get told off my Pa for not wearing a cardy. Layering (when not done to the extent of looking like the Michelin Man) is now a must.
