GINGHAM DRESS

Choker & Bracelet - eBay, Necklace - Delilah Dust, Dress - c/o Yayer, Rings - c/o La Moda, Creepers - eBay

I think this is my favourite post in a while.. everything is oh so summery (despite the fact it is now greyer than grey) and I feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland. Not that Alice in Wonderland would be clomping about in a pair of creepers.

Anyway, this post is all quite girly and sunshine filled. I'm feeling like I've got one of those primary school dresses on that we all used to wear back in the day but I still love it. I think gingham will officially always feel a little bit childlike for that reason - I just remember it being the frill to my socks for the first portion of my life. Actually, I'd probably still wear frilly school socks too. Some things never change.

Jewellery wise I'm wearing what I've been going for everyday - a choker & my little crystal necklace, then a few stacked up rings from La Moda. I usually have a couple of weeks where I opt for the same combination & for now it's always these bits I pick out.

FLORAL & MESH

Choker - eBay, Mesh Top - Boohoo, Two Piece - c/o Missguided, Belt - Primark, Sandals - Forever 21

Two two pieces in as many days and that mesh top is back. I'm a creature of habit quite clearly. Let's be honest, two pieces are pretty big right now. Especially with us blogging folk - I know I've probably upped my collection by about 4 in the last couple of weeks. My bank balance is hating my two piece obsession with a passion.

This little floral number is definitely one of my favourites so far. We all know Missguided is top notch when it comes to our cutesy co-ords.. my wish list on there is about as long as my arm! I was going to just wear it on its own because it does look really pretty like that, but as the weather was excelling itself with being miserable (don't let our somewhat overgrown garden fool you!), I chucked on my number one layering piece - the mesh top. Biggest fan of everything girly with grungy black.

I'm keeping it quick today as I'm off to go see the new X-Men film - who doesn't love a mutant eh?!

CREAM TWO PIECE

Sunglasses - H&M, Choker - eBay, Necklace & Rings - c/o La Moda, Two Piece - c/o Ukulele

If you could make me a two piece of dreams, I think this would be it. It's gorgeously feminine with a little bit of Sienna circa festival season thrown in. Now, I don't think I'm going to pull off boho chic quite as fabulously as she does, but it can certainly have a bash.

I took these pictures earlier in the week, when it was much better weather and feeling all round summery. Unfortunately, I'm now writing this up sat looking out at the rain whilst waiting for my train back from Manchester (I've just had the best weekend seeing Katy Perry at the Phones4U arena thanks to Boohoo - that's if I haven't already bored you to death with my twitter updates). However, the minute I've got a suitable summery occasion to wear this I will be doing. It so needs to be popped together with a (real) tan, beachy, sandblasted hair and the smell of sun cream. That's as close to poetic as I'm ever going to get.

I've worn it here with another chunky piece from La Moda's jewellery collection. It would definitely be on a magpie's lust list.. My mum has already got her glimmers on it!

FLORAL PLAYSUIT

Hat - H&M, Sunglasses - H&M, Choker - eBay, Playsuit - c/o Ashanti Brazil, Belt - Primark, Rings - c/o La Moda, Boots - Dr. Martens

It's been a fair old time since I've had my chunky Docs out. Don't get me wrong, I still love 'um to little bits, but they're not exactly shoes for a comfy day. They're just SO heavy, it's like doing a leg work out walking about in them! I do still think they look fab with girly outfits like this flouncy playsuit, so I do on occasion brave wearing them. It's as close as I'm ever going to get to a 'legs day'.

The playsuit is a newbie I'm loving for the sunny season. It's very 'me' - kind of feminine but the sort of thing that you can wear with loads of black so you don't feel like such a princess. I know it's quite a deep V neck, but I love that. I just stack on a couple of necklaces to detract from the boob sitch - having long hair helps too (it's saved me from numerous near nipple slips in the past!).

Not only have I stacked up on necklaces but I'm also decked out in glitzy rings. La Moda (always one of my all time favourites) have just launched their jewellery collection and I'm swooning over everything. I'm either wearing no jewellery or loads all at once, so these little ring sets are perfect for me (they're such a bargain too!).

COMPANY BLOG AWARDS: MY FAVES & A BIG THANK YOU

The time has come around again for the Company #STYLEBLOGGER Awards (all very exciting!). I've been meaning to do this post since the nominees were announced & as voting closes Friday, here goes. Now, I'm not wanting to do an Oscar's speech but the BIGGEST thank you to any of you that nominated me for Best Fashion Blog. It's freakin' amazing to be up there with some of my favourites and I do feel more than a little bit proud that all the hard work (I will add that it's hard work that I love!) is paying off.

What Olivia Did
Everything about Olivia's blog is pretty. It's like a little world I want to step into and never leave, full of lovely little settings and sugary treats. My craving for fluffy doughnuts & buttery scones is forever increasing.

Megan's wardrobe is one I'd quite like to share.. or pinch. Y'know that old one 'effortlessly chic', well that's her. She doesn't look like she's trying too hard but still manages to look fab.

Two Shoes One Pair
The blogging duo of dreams. Naomi and Amy are all round lovely, and I know they both work so hard on Two Shoes one Pair. Definitely deserving winners, would love to see these two get plenty of recognition for all their super stylish posts.

Thunder and Threads
Leanne is one of my long running blogger favourites, not only because she's a fellow lover of the saying 'I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker colour', but also because she's a true inspo for all us girls out there. Nothing like girl power!

The cause of my never ending love affair with two pieces, all things pastel and Topshop's New In section. Oh & I stalk Sarah's Instagram like there's no tomorrow.. definitely worth a peek if you're not already following her.

So, there are my faves for this years nominees. There are so many amazing blogs up for awards this year and it's lovely to see so many girls (&guys!) doing well at something they love.
If you would like to vote for me - I'm on Best Fashion Blog (page 9). I'm not going to go on about how much it means to me, 'cause you guys all know that it's a big deal for any of us.. but yeah, if you do fancy a wee vote for me that would be muchly appreciated!

FESTIVAL MAC & SUSPENDER SHORTS

Mac - c/o Drystar, Choker - eBay, Mesh Top - Boohoo, Shorts - Charity Shop & DIY, Boots - c/o Forever 21

Probably committing a blogging sin by wearing this top twice in as many blog posts - I actually took these pictures a couple of days apart & didn't realise that I'd gravitated back to sporting a bit of mesh. I have a ridiculous wardrobe due to hoarding over the years (does anyone else have outfits from their mid teens that they still can't bear to part with?!), yet I wear the same few things.. typical.

I've gone a bit festival-y today. Am I going to a festival? No. Have I ever even been to a festival? No - Queen of Boresville is my title and I've ended up being more of a green tea in my back garden rather than cider in a sunny field sort of girl. Sob. For me, that means I use summery days as an excuse to dress like I'm bopping to Bey' at V Fest. This week this marshmallow pink (and exceptionally practical - my Nanna would be proud) mac arrived. Is it not perfect for brightening up even the rainiest of summer days?! Festivals may not currently be in my diary but I'm sure there's going to be plenty of drizzly occasions that this is just right for.

I went for my favourite pink/black combo and paired it with my old suspender shorts. This is my third or fourth summer wearing these and I still think they're one of my favourite charity shop buys. They're convincing me that I need to pop back into my local British Heart Foundation & make a few more pairs.

COW PRINT SHORTS

Choker - eBay, Mesh Top - Boohoo, Shorts - c/o House of Trendella, Platform Sandals - c/o Pretty Little Thing

Dare I say I'm actually smiling in this post?! Well, that's as much of a smile I'm ever going to be doing - I've got one of those permanently miserable looking faces even when I'm at my most chirpy. I'm going to put my cheerfulness down to all this sunshine.. isn't it bloody gorgeous?! I hope you're all getting a bit of summer sunshine. It's amazing what a nice, sunny day can do for your mood don't you think?!

I'm back in that mesh top that I wear all too much. Its not exactly summery, but it has become a year round staple in my wardrobe. I've worn it layered under dresses in the winter, and I think I'll be packing it in my suitcase to wear over a bikini on my jollies (did I mention I was going on holiday?! I'm not sure I've talked about it enough.. ha).  I've gone very monochrome once again pairing it with the (kinda) cow print shorts. I love a drawstring short for summer, they're a bit floaty for hot days & you've got room to stretch a BBQ food baby into them. I'm starting to realise that my love for clothes definitely depends on whether or not I can eat my way to oblivion in them.. Big bikini bod fail.

COLLARED PLAYSUIT

Playsuit - c/o Desire Clothing, Creepers - eBay

There's no denying this is for the short short lovers amongst us, so 'scuse a little bit of bottom flashing. It's actually not as short as it perhaps looks - definitely not the pants-riding-up style that will no doubt be making a comeback as summer returns!

Anyhoo, I'm a big fan of this sort of playsuit. Cutesy and a little bit flirty..outfits can be flirty right?! I don't know, I just think it has something that makes it perfect for a little night out.. despite the fact that I'm wearing it with my chunky old creepers. I know the whole creepers thing is a bit old now but I still like to cling onto mine for any days when I feel like I need to step down from all things pink and girly, y'know?

I'll keep it short and sweet seen as there isn't much to this outfit.. I kept it quite simple because sometimes I think I add things for the sake of adding them! Really you don't need much with this playsuit. Other than shoes. Shoes are of course a necessity.

FLOATY FLORAL DRESS

Choker - eBay, Dress - c/o Loving Youth, Belt - Primark, Shoes - Office

Rogue cat again. This time lurking in the background, having a bath. Marvellous.

Ignore my pesky kitty-kins and let's go back to what's important.. the outfit. Mainly, this girly little wonder of a dress. Oh how I'm loving its floaty, floral self. The lovely guys at Loving Youth actually named this after yours truly - how nice ey?! Not only is this a 'Lydia' dress, but it's super duper pretty with that peekaboo cut out midriff. Although I think I could be going for an 'underboob' flash. Hey, it's a look I can only get away with for so long.. there's no way I'm going to be showing off that area when the girls have somewhat lost their buoyancy. Must. Stop. Talking. About. Boobs.

I've avoided going for my typical chunky boots and gone for some Office sandals. They're just a simple pair, but I know they'll go with everything and probably see me through a few summers. Now, get me out of grottsville Sheffield and onto that beach in Greece so I can wear this without having to put a fluffy jumper on.

LONG CARDIGAN & A MAXI SKIRT

Fedora - H&M, Bralet - Missguided, Cardigan - H&M, Belt - Primark, Skirt - H&M, Boots - c/o La Moda

So, not many pictures today. It was one of those blog picture flop days - from about 50 pictures I found three where I didn't look like a total gorm pot. Hey ho, three is better than none (that can happen sometimes..).

I'm wearing a usual sort of outfit for me, a hat, black boots and even more black clothing. Even though there is quite a lot of black going on, I still think it's kind of summery. Maybe because it's a bit festival-y? I don't know, but there's something about long, drapey clothing that makes me feel like I should be at some hippy festival in the sun.

Even though it can be a tad Morticia, I still like wearing black maxi in the summer (I own about four very similar black, long skirts.. Why?!). They're something simple that you can add to, a little belt, some snappy sandals or maybe paired with a cutesy crop top, y'know? I love wearing this belt with something plain, can you believe it was from Primark. They did gurrrrd there.

FLORAL & A CHUNKY JUMPER

Headband - Primark, Jumper - Boohoo, Dress - c/o Little Mistress, Shoes - Boohoo

I guess I need to ask my pops to mow the grass.. currently I'm looking like I've got trotters. My lovely little Boohoo heels have all but disappeared. Boo!

Despite my less than elegant looking trotters, I've tried to go all girly today. Y'know when you just fancy being all feminine and flouncy? My wardrobe is full of dark clothes, but I like to keep plenty of pretty bits in there for the days when I'm looking to go back to my pre-adult self. As a true 90s child, my mum used to dress me in plenty of floral dresses (probably with a matching scrunchy), which could be why I still love a floral dress like this one. It's actually quite a fancy dress.. it'd be perfect for a wedding, but as I am queen of having nothing to do & nowhere to go, I've worn it kind of casual.

I've just slung a jumper over the top to dress it down. It's one of those knits I'll be lugging around with me all summer.. Just incase it gets a bit nippy in the evening! I hate being cold, so if there's a BBQ or two where I'm going to need something cozy after gorging myself on burgers, this will be my jumper of choice.

JONI JEANS & A CROP TOP

Hat - H&M, Top - c/o She Likes, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Jeans - Topshop, Boots - c/o Forever 21, Rings - c/o Astrid & Miyu

Bit of a boob sitch today. This top is very 'boob-ie' - don't get me wrong, I completely love it.. you've just got to keep an eye on what the girls are doing if you know what I mean. Nobody wants a nip-slip do they?

I have actually been fancying one of these tops for a while.. to me, they're kind of like the peplum's little sister. Still covering any pesky little food babies, but there's something a bit girly & cute about that cropped length. Plus this style is perfect for going with my current wardrobe faves - anything high waisted.

Yep, I'm all round a bit of a blogging flop seen as I'm wearing these trousers again so soon after posting about them. The thing is, I'm not really the kind of girl that buys stuff and wears it once. When I treat myself (I'm still completely in student mode.. spending £40 on a pair of trousers still makes me need a lie down!), I make sure I'm going to get plenty of wear out of whatever I go for. Sure enough, I've already worn these jeans way too much. They do frighten me a little.. they so have a tendency to accentuate my rather ample bottom, but I'll probably just stick to longer cut tops on days when I'm feeling a bit too like a poor man's Kim K.

So I started that post talking about my boobs and ended it on my bum. I think I better leave it at that!

GINGHAM & A LEATHER JACKET

Sunglasses - c/o McArthurGlen, Jacket - Topshop, Dress - c/o jones+jones, Boots - c/o Forever 21
I feel a bit like a female, milkmaid version of Russell Brand today. My hair's a bit of a mess (blaming that on the wind & drizzle), and I'm wearing a battered, very old leather jacket. The gingham adds the milkmaid vibe. Right, I need to shut up because I actually sound like that was the look I was going for..

Anyhoo, anyone who knows me knows that I love that girly/grunge kind of thing. I like being a bit of a princess (frilly socks, baby pink, y'know the kind of thing), but at the same time I don't want to be looking like Barbie. That's usually where some chunky boots or beat up leather comes in. Today I've gone for my Forever 21 cowboy boots - the latest number one in my black boots collection. I just like that they're quite simple, meaning I can wear them with the majority of outfits I go for.

Now, the dress is girly perfection don't you think? I love how it sticks out like a proper little prom dress. It does have another layer of blue gingham, but I tucked that up using a belt as it felt a little too 'poofy' for me - my short stubby legs just couldn't handle it, as adorable as it is!

PINK SHIFT DRESS & CHUNKY HEELS

Sunglasses - Primark, Dress - c/o So In Fashion, Coat - H&M, Heels - c/o Pretty Little Thing

Cat probz. Why is he obsessed with wandering in to my pictures?! He's as cute as a button but you have no idea how many of my blog photos end up with some rogue kitty in them. That's what ya get for being a 22 year old cat-cuddler.. I could possibly add that to my job description.

I'm sat writing this up in the sunshine, feeling excited for short shorts, padding pools and days at the seaside. However, this picture taking sesh landed on a less than glorious day. I ended up going for the coat that you've all seen me in regularly over these last few months. It's quite light, so I layered up in it over winter and now I'm just throwing it on when it's still a bit nippy. I've popped it over this mega girly dress from So In Fashion.. Baby pink is still such a winner in my book! I love the pattern, it kind of looks like lots of hot air balloons don't you think?!

Shoes wise I've gone very chunky in these platforms.. Forever spending my life in pretty dresses and stompy footwear!

NEW FOR SPRING/SUMMER

Urban Decay Electric Palette - c/o Debehams, Estée Lauder Beautiful Perfume, Sparkly Headband - Primark

Now, whilst making an attempt at this blogging lark, I do sometimes acquire products that I want to talk about, but don't really fit anywhere. I guess that's why I started YouTube, so I could have a little rant on about all the random bits & bobs I want to have a natter with you about! As three things isn't really enough to roll into a whole video (even I can't stretch out talking crap for that long), I've done a little S/S round up of newness. Nothing major, just a few thingymabobbys that you might want a peek at.

Firstly, that scary looking Urban Decay palette. I say scary looking, not because it isn't completely beautiful, but as a loyal neutrals gal, this is me stepping out of my comfort zone. In fact, stepping is an understatement, hurdling would be more appropriate. I've actually really enjoyed playing with it and getting back into enjoying doing make up. I've mainly just added a teeny bit of the bright colours to do something  bit different.. a swish of that warm orange in the crease or silver for a highlight, nothing too crazy y'know. Maybe I'll try something really bold on a filming day - the result could be interesting.

More newness for summer includes glitzy accessories and my favourite Estée Lauder fragrance. I've since replaced that near empty bottle of 'Beautiful' (it's lush, but I'm not even going to try explaining a perfume to you!) and Primark came up with some sparkly goodies perfect for updating my accessories collection. I've been wearing them just around my head in hope that I'm going to look half as cool as Sienna circa festival season - I don't. Hey ho, what can ya do?!
