LACE LAYERING

You know when you find something in your wardrobe that you’d completely forgot about, then proceed to wear it every other day for the next month? This little bralet has become that item. I loved it way back when I got it (we’re talking at least a year ago), but somewhere along the way it was consumed by an overflowing top drawer. I took these pictures before I went away, but it did end up coming on holiday with me too. It’s a good layering piece for pairing with girly options.

Here I just went basic, with black jeans and that ZARA shirt I’ve always loved… And yup, I’m keeping it monochrome as ever. Here I was just heading to get coffee (currently classed as my hobby), so jeans and a slouchy shirt was good enough for me.

Right, time for me to head out for some grub. With all the house stuff going on at the minute I’m ready for an evening that doesn’t involve ringing the bank, talking to solicitors and looking at sofas.

HOLIDAY EVENINGS | THE SLIP DRESS

Dress - Primary / Bag - H&M / Sandals - New Look
Day one of the holidays feels like a lonnnng time ago now... I’m still hoping I’ll fit another trip abroad in this year, but with lots of adult-y stuff going off it may have to wait ‘til the next. I so want to travel more.

For the first evening I always just go for something comfortable. Chances are I’m a little bit pink and sleepy from traveling, so a relaxed fit is needed. I took a couple of these slip dresses away with me as they’re just right as looser options. Most of them I’ve picked up super cheap in Primark – if it’s just something simple like this I’m not bothered about it being mega fancy.

I’m definitely struggling to beat the holiday blues flicking through snaps of that beach setting. Life by the sea is extra lovely.

YSL SUMMER 2016 MAKEUP | SAVAGE ESCAPE

I love a good summer collection. It gets me extra excited for the prospect of BBQs, warm evenings and trips to the seaside. Makeup wise I've just had a bit of an update for the warmer season with a couple of products from YSL's Savage Escape collection, a new mix of bronzes and warm tones.

YSL Beauté Gloss Volupté (Rose Denim)

Hey heyyy to extra girliness! If you’re into a super feminine gloss, then Rose Denim is definitely the one. It’s all those Barbie vibes rolled in with shimmer – a really fun lip colour. It’s probably not something I’d wear that often (I’m more into my mauve and brown undertones), but it’s a real nice change from the usual orangey tones we get at this time of year.

YSL Beauté Full Metal Shadow (No. 12 Blue Clyde)

Liquid eye products are something I have limited success with… I think eyeliner has put me off for life. I’ve been working on it though with the Full Metal Shadow and finally getting to grips with something other than powder. I actually really like how these apply – you can sort of smudge them on then buff them out before they set well. The colour is definitely very holiday-fied, but it’s actually nice to get away from my typical neutral tones! Having said that, I did swatch the bronze-ish shade they do in this and did fall a tiny bit in love.

YSL Beauté Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones (No. 1 Sunstone & No. 3 Jasper)

Okay, let’s talk bronzers. I took these away on holiday with me and by the end of the week I was loved up. Not only are they pretty to look at, but these bronzing stones are milled extra fine, limiting worries about going too heavy handed. They’re easy to build up, but you aren’t going to get an orange stripe with the first swipe. I’ve been using the lighter shade as an all over powder while I’ve got a bit of a tan, and the darker one as my actual bronzer. Big love.

Have you tried any of these bits out yet? I keep lurking round the YSL counters... The bronze Full Metal Shadow is definitely on my lust list.
