MY CITY, MY STYLE
I love being a northern girl. Yeah, I’ve got that
particularly strong Sheffield accent, but I’m also incredibly proud of coming
from a dynamic area that I’m constantly inspired by. Today I’m collaborating
with H&M on their #MyCityMyStyle campaign, sharing my city diary with you…
I’ll be using an outfit from their latest Spring collection as an excuse to
head off to some of my favourite places, and fill you in on why they inspire my
style. It’s a collection I can’t wait to wear as we head out of colder months –
think feminine styles with denim and delicate detailing. Just the right vibe
for rocking in the city over Spring.
Kelham Island
First stop - Kelham Island. I love to have a trip to Kelham,
as it’s got some gorgeous settings for blog pictures, as well as being my
favourite place to head for breakfast – waffles at The Grind are a must. Kelham
is having an ongoing facelift, now home to plenty of cute cafes, restaurants
and swish offices, whilst retaining Sheffield’s industrial background. I think
it makes it the perfect contrast for showing off this floaty shirt… I’ve
dressed it up here a little, but I can’t wait to wear it extra casual when the
warmer Spring days arrive.
Park Hill
Not only is Park Hill a favourite for fans of architecture (it’s the largest listed building in Europe), but it’s also the place I work. It’s quickly become a hotspot of creatives, full of modern flats and businesses. While it’s quite a love it or hate it building, I think it’s great that they’ve retained the real character of it – my favourite part of it is the ‘I love you will you marry me’ graffiti, which has now become a Park Hill emblem. The idea of embracing identity is something I translate to my own style – I love a new trend, but it’s all about a personal way of wearing it that works for you. When it comes to #MyCityMyStyle, I feel like Park Hill is an obvious choice for me.
The Antiques Areas - Nichols Building
Ahhh the Nichols building. From vintage clothing to art deco
cabinets perfect for a Pinterest worthy home, I love visiting to get some style
inspiration for mixing the old with the new. The jeans I’m wearing today are
just what I go for when I’m taking on vintage shopping in the city – I like something
comfy and casual, that I can dress up with a an embellished top like this.
I feel like Sheffield can often be a little overlooked as a
city, but I think we can all find style inspiration in our surroundings. The
#MyCityMyStyle collection is one that really gets that city look – it’s an
eclectic mix, encapsulating the cool, urban vibes I get from my favourite
locations in the city. Mixing fun and feminine styles with refined details,
sunshine ready prints and sheer fabrics, it’s one of those collections that you
can really work into your own style… I’m already thinking how I can wear this
flouncy shirt on holiday too!
As part of #MyCityMyStyle, there’s a chance to win a £50
