CURRENT CASUAL ACCESSORY COMBINATIONS

Image
I spoke about these in my last post… Another recent addition for casual footwear. I was obsessed with creepers when they first did the rounds in 2012-ish, so it’s nice to see them carrying on in trainer format. While I’m loving these relaxed looks, when I’m wearing these trainers I usually pick out black accessories for the rest of my outfit - I just feel like that smartens things up. The skinny scarf is my absolute favourite right now for making outfits a bit ‘fancier’… even if I’m wearing a big baggy jumpsuit it still makes me feel more put together!  Currently, the adidas Superstars are the top choice in my shoedrobe. They just go with so many outfits, and could quite happily slot in with any of these casual combos. Mostly though, I love them with camel, as they just brighten things up compared with the black boots I’d normally opt for. Wearing them with this scarf is typical basic look as we head out of winter - I'll just chuck on black jeans and a black baggy tee...

FLORAL DETAILS

Image
Floral Crown - The Bubble Garden , Necklace - H&M So it's just an extra quick, 'probably doesn't warrant it's own blog post' post  today.. Sometimes in-between doing blog bits & bobs I do take a few snaps that don't really fit anywhere. Not an outfit post, not really a full beauty thaaang, but still something that I think is worth talking about. Today, it's floral crowns. I had a thing for them when there was the original bandwagon to jump on, but I think I'm now back to really feeling the floral love. Maybe it's because it summer, and anything like this over these months seems to amplify summer vibes?! That and I love anything I can work in with a braid. I'm thinking this with a simple, chunky plait? This one my mum picked up for me at Tatton Park the other week. It was from a little independent stall and my mum did get it with blog pictures in mind.. She's a good egg for finding little bits for me on her travels that I ...

DETAILS: EVENINGS OUT

Image
Bag - c/o Florian London , YSL Lipstick (the colour has rubbed off.. it's an oldie!), L'Oréal Nail Varnish (Beige Boheme), L'Oréal Super Liner I always think it's nice when you're off out to have a few fancy accessories. I don't go 'out out' that often so when I do I like the full dressing up process. Bit of fake tan, a new lippy, shoes that make you feel a bit sassy, y'know? These days I'm also trying to get my nails done more often. For the amount of money I spend on nail varnish that chips off or a wonder treatment that doesn't actually work I might as well just go get them done all nice. I've had these on a couple of weeks now so they have grown out a bit.. I've just repainted them with the Beige Boheme to freshen them up too. I love a good nude nail. With makeup I usually brave a bit of eyeliner when I'm going out. It's just too much for me to handle on a day to day basis.. How do people do it in a rush?! It t...

NEW IN: SUNNIES & PINK LIPS

Image
Sunglasses - New Look , Top - Forever 21, Lips - MAC Please me Some of you may have already seen these  sungigs over on my Instagram the other day. I bought them last weekend after being on the hunt for that reflective style in a frame that actually looked okay on my face. As soon as I saw these I knew I'd be getting them.. Plus, New Look sunnies are always super cheap which is perfect when you're after that sort of 'trend focused' thing! Even though they're quite chunky, I think the pink in them keeps them quite girly. I haven't managed to find the black version online (not sure if they've sold out - worth checking in store!), but the tortoiseshell frames are still on there.. I'm definitely going to pop back to New Look and get them for my jols! On the pink lips front I've updated my MAC lipstick collection with a fresh 'Please Me'. It's one that I've used a lot in the past (more dabbed on for an extra bit of pink), but...

COACHELLA INSPIRED BRAIDS

Image
Hair by The Blow , Hair Rings - Regal Rose So another trip to The Blow means extra Rapunzel like hair. UGH I wish my hair could look as 'done' all the time - I'm forever just rushing to get a brush through it! This look was all those festival/Coachella vibes combined.. I've spent the last couple of weekends (like most of us) wishing I was there, so at least I can get a teeny bit involved with some boho hair do. Mehhh.. Maybe one year I'll go! The ponytail is all braided and fuzzed up - I love that kind of dishevelled but not dishevelled with purpose look. Ick that sounds pretentious, but I think you'll know what I'm getting at. I've  also got the Regal Rose Hair Rings threaded through which I'm newly obsessed with. Aren't they so pretty for plaits?! If you are off to a festival this year you need some. I love that it's an extension on my usual go-to jewellery. youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / ...

DETAILS: STRIPES & CAMEL

Image
Scarf - H&M, Shirt Dress - New Look , Watch - c/o Daniel Wellington , Black Purse - Accessorize, Ring - Pandora Lippy - Maybelline 24 Colour Pink Spice This is a bit of a 'I'm wearing all the things I just showed you in a post' post. With a few extra accessories thrown in and some DIY bodge job nails (not totally fabulous looking after a few days of wear, but they'll do). I only managed to get a few snaps on my way out, but I quite like this snippet kind of thing. I was only wearing tights and boots on my bottom half and there are only so many tights you can say about that.  With accessories, here I'm mostly wearing favourites. The camel scarf is my little bit of Kimye.. Everything camel just makes me think of sassy Kimmy K in the oversized camel coat. It goes with plenty in my hugely monochrome wardrobe. That little watch is my newest Daniel Wellington. I love how it's super traditional, I feel like I could still wear this when I'm 70 a...

MONOCHROME DETAILS

Image
Bag - c/o La Moda , Necklace - c/o Anna Lou of London , Lace One Piece - Primark, Shirt - c/o Dorothy Perkins , Trousers - c/o Boohoo , Heels - c/o Boohoo These snaps are just a few I took on my new camera.. I'll still stick to my DSLR the majority of the time but I've just spent the last week or so faffing around with my new gadget. My face does look a bit smudgy; it has a 'beauty' setting that makes your skin look all smooth and glowy.. Life. Changed. Ha. It's great for Instagram and general snaps, but probably is a bit full on for bigger pictures like this. I've got a post to come that includes it, so I'll probably mention how I'm getting on with it then. Outfit wise I'm actually wearing a 'going out' outfit. Shock horror. I'm always more casual, but there are odd occasions where I do get dolled up. I played it safe and went for monochrome. The trousers are newbies that I didn't want to wear somewhere boring on their...

NEW IN: CHRISTMAS TREATS

Image
NARS Laguna Bronzer ,  NARS 'Deborah' Lipstick ,  Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Tonic ,  Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Makeup Remover ,  MAC 'Painterly' Paint Pot ,  MAC 'Velvet Teddy' Lipstick ,  Topshop Suede Bag   I’m dragging this  Christmas thing out big time. For me, once all of the festivities are over with it’s a bit of a ‘come down’.. January looks very bleak and summer seems   a million miles with it. Anyway, I’m stretching things out with a look through some of the lovely treats I had for Christmas. I’m forever thankful that I have such thoughtful family and friends  who know me so well, which means all things girly stacked under the tree. I know if my mum at some point reads this it’ll put a smile on her little face, so  cheers to my mamma! This year was all about schmancy beauty products. I’d asked for the few bits from MAC, but the rest were surprises. I love Christmas morning being about tr...

SALES ROUND UP: LUST LIST

Image
Cashmere Scarf - Aspinal of London , Mirror Ball Phone Case - Marc Jacobs , Nude Ankle Boots - ASOS , Turtle Neck Jumper - Whistles , Black Wedges - LK Bennet , Belt - Aspinal of London , Lipstick - 'Barbara' NARS (not in the sales, but had my first NARS lippy for Christmas and it's love), Silver Pumps - Whistles , Samsung NX3000 Camera - John Lewis I'm calling this a lust list, mainly because although these items are from the sales, they're still on my 'I want but cannot afford list'. Or maybe the 'cannot justify list'.. Do I need another three pairs of shoes? Definitely not. These are all the schmancy bits I'm now lusting after in the sales. As I've got older I've become less bothered about grabbing a top for less than a fiver, and more obsessed with treating myself to some techy gadget or something a little extravagant. Not good for my bank balance, but I think in the long run I get more out of it. This year I'm fancying a ...

DETAILS: TOP KNOTS & ALL BLACK

Image
Coat - c/o Boohoo, Bra (just seen) - c/o Urban Outfitters, Leggings - H&M, Boots - Oooold.. Possibly Dotty P back in the day?! Bit of an iddy biddy post today. It's not really a full outfit, but there are few bits and bobs I can ramble on about.  Firstly the hair. I'm same old same old when it comes to my hair, so sticking a tiny bit of it up like this is different for me. I quite like this kind of thing especially when it's all looking a bit deshevilled (it definitely is). The only thing I would say is this.. NEVER THINK IT'S OKAY TO PUT YOUR HAIR IN AN ELASTIC BAND. I know, it was stupid on my part. But times are hard and hair bobbles are few. I have learnt my lesson. Other details of mention. No. 7 Nude Lip Liner, smudged in with MAC Sheer Plum lippy (I've heard it's now been discontinued.. sob). My favourite combo at the minute. There's a tiny bit of bra flashing thrown in there too. It's a super pretty strappy thing that's ...

NEW FOR SPRING/SUMMER

Image
Urban Decay Electric Palette - c/o Debehams , Est é e Lauder Beautiful Perfume, Sparkly Headband - Primark Now, whilst making an attempt at this blogging lark, I do sometimes acquire products that I want to talk about, but don't really fit anywhere. I guess that's why I started YouTube, so I could have a little rant on about all the random bits & bobs I want to have a natter with you about! As three things isn't really enough to roll into a whole video (even I can't stretch out talking crap for that long), I've done a little S/S round up of newness. Nothing major, just a few thingymabobbys that you might want a peek at. Firstly, that scary looking Urban Decay palette. I say scary looking, not because it isn't completely beautiful, but as a loyal neutrals gal, this is me stepping out of my comfort zone. In fact, stepping is an understatement, hurdling would be more appropriate. I've actually really enjoyed playing with it and getting back in...

BRIGHT ACCESSORIES - COLOUR ME HAPPY

Image
Outfit 1: Shirt - Charity Shop, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Office I'm going to be honest, there's just something about an all white outfit that makes me feel sassy.. Honey Boo Boo style. Ha. When I've got an accessory that my outfit revolves around (does anyone else ever plan outfits around shoes or handbags?!), I usually go for an outfit that's all one colour. As I'm banishing black clothing for S/S (I'm totally not, I'll be in back in black by the end of the week), I thought I'd opt for white. Outfit equivalent of a boiled egg? Shut up Lydia. Outfit 2: Shirt - As Before, Dress - c/o  Dolly Bow Bow , Shoes - As Before Could I possibly be more girly if I tried? Even though I always think of the classic Ray Ban shape as quite masculine, I love that you can still pop them with a ditzy dress and not look completely miss-matched. The same goes for the sunnies & the bag together, it's kind of something that looks like it shouldn't work bu...

UNDIES & ACCESSORIES: STYLING UP WITH WONDERBRA

Image
Wonderbra  (Basso & Brooke Range), Headband - Primark, Bracelet - Accessorize, Watch - c/o Daniel Wellington, Shoes - Topshop I guess it could be construed a tad weird posting about how to 'dress up' undies on here. However, I'm   not necessarily saying this is at all for the benefit of your other half. I'm more thinking for those days when you've treated yourself to some mega pretty undies, and feel that you're wasting them by tucking them up in jeans and a t-shirt. So anyhoo, I thought I'd do a bit of an 'accessorising up' post.. the sort of bits & bobs that I'd pick to go with an extra special underwear day.  And yep, this evidently isn't the full outfit.. well, unless you're just having a day bopping about to naff pop music in your room (I never do that.. ). For me, I'd probably add a black maxi and just button up the shirt a bit.. but then maybe I'd swap it for white skinny jeans for a sunny day?! You...

JANUARY FAVOURITES

Image
Vita Liberata Tan , Ring - Vintage, Bracelet - Present (Mamma is a cutieee),  Soleil Tan De Chanel , Choker -  eBay , Advanced Night Repair, Double Wear Foundation & Modern Muse Eau De Parfum - Est êe  Lauder I know this post isn't the norm for me. For one, I'm not stood looking like a big posey mcposerson, and two I'm a creature of habit and generally, my favourites don't alter much. I’m sure that will be clear from this post, yep, we've all seen that fedora and choker a fair few times haven't we?! The bracelet I wear almost everyday but I'm not sure you'll have seen how sweet it is.. my little Mumma is a babe.  Aside from the accessories that I spend half my life in, I added in a few beauty bits & bobs. I know I look like I'm Est êe   Lauder's most keen sponsor, but I just had to include all three. Gift with purchase deals have caused this, I try these mega amazing products out and then I need to go buy them! The raved ab...

MY ESSENTIAL A/W ACCESSORIES

Image
For me, Autumn/Winter is the season of accessories. We get wrapped up in layer upon layer, to the point that it has to be the little details that do the talking.. during winter half of the time my layer under my coat doesn't even get seen! It is a random bunch, but I wanted to include a few traditional necessities & some not so obvious ones.. 1. Lots of Chunky Jewellery  (La Moda, SheInside, Vintage, Blog Shop) My main way of avoiding feeling dull in all the dark colours over A/W is adding something chunky jewellery wise. The four here are all ones I'd pop over a turtle neck or with a faux fur collar. I don't know, I guess they just stop everything being a bit too boring?! It's so easy to just forget about wearing pretty things when it's cold, I'd much rather focus on being warm.. But a glitzy necklace is just a little way of letting the chilly season know it hasn't beaten you. I WILL BE DRESSING PRETTY IN THE COLD. Ha. 2. Sun...
