NEW FROM & OTHER STORIES

Image
When & Other Stories got in touch a few weeks ago about their new store opening in Leeds I was super duper excited… Not only do I love Leeds (unaaay nostalgia!) but I’m also a lover of the brand. It’s a site I head to and get lusty eyes over everything! They do those classic, simple styles that I love, perfect for updating wardrobe basics and adding stand out pieces. In celebration of the new store opening I’m wearing a & Other Stories outfit, featuring some of the latest from their A/W range. I actually think this is my favourite outfit in a long time! It’s kind of smart, but has that fun, girly vibe to it thanks to the bare legs. Most of what I’m wearing revolves around that coat – isn’t it a freaking dream?! I think it’ll quickly become my most worn item this winter. I’ve always been into a long coat, but this one is made beautifully and makes me feel extra swishy when I’m dashing about. Love. The new Leeds store is open from today at Victori...

BONFIRE NIGHT LAYERING WITH LOOKAGAIN

Image
With October in full swing I’m finally getting into all things autumnal – hot drinks, snuggly evenings and layering up on chilly days. I also love all the seasonal events at this time of year too… Halloween and Bonfire Night are my forever favourites! It goes without saying that Halloween is fun for dressing up, but planning winter warmers for Bonfire Night is also something I love – gimme those fluffy knits! So, picking an outfit for Bonfire Night means I want something practical, without feeling like I look three stone heavier in thick clothing. Instead, I like to layer up so that I’m super snuggly, but still able to move my arms and legs. The outfit I’m wearing here is just the sort of thing I go for – it alwaaays has to involve a ridiculously cute, fluffy jumper! This one from LookAgain is probably the coziest thing I own right now, and with a long sleeved top underneath and the mac over the top I’m all wrapped up for an evening watching fireworks. Alongside laye...

PATCHWORK JEANS

Image
Aaaand we have another denim outfit. I’m at least proud that all the styles I’ve been wearing are pretty different. Usually I just end up buying various versions of black skinnies. I’ve got a pair coming up in few posts time that are the dream, yet aren’t your typical jeans. For now though, it’s a tweaked version of my favourite high-waisted style – a new pair from Dorothy Perkins. Aren’t they cute?! I love that they fit sort of loose, yet work well on giving a gal some shape in the bottom department… I can find some high-waisted styles are ridiculously unflattering in that area! I’ve come to realise that pocket placement is a big deal. Most of this outfit is actually from Dotty Ps. I picked out a few bits for their Style Heroes campaign and I did really like the outfit. It sounds very ‘First World problems’, but picking out clothes online for blogger projects can be really tricky. I struggle working out what’s going to go well together based on a couple of pictur...

SILKY SKIRT

Image
I got this skirt a good couple of months ago now. It was one of those on a whim purchases that I wasn’t really sure if I’d ever get round to wearing. I’d seen a similar one on a girl who looked fabulously glamorous, so when I saw this version in the H&M sale for £15 I thought I’d give it a go. I completely love the silky style of it… I guess it’s cause it’s got some sort of gothic vibe to it. I’m definitely into that. Actually, I’m really looking forward to wearing this skirt in the winter. I do like it with this cute cropped shirt, but I think it’ll be extra lovely with a super oversized knit… Something that’s a real contrast to the silky fabric. I’m thinking in navy, just so I don’t look like I’m off to a Halloween party. I’ve already bought a couple of A/W jumpers, but I’ll still stick a navy knit on my wishlist! FRAYED DENIM

Image
I started out my blog as a hater of jeans. We’re now reaching two posts in a row with denim features. How times have changed. These days I’m a jeans lover – I actually ordered two pairs from ASOS this week, with this pair a being a new treat from River Island. I was so chuffed to see this style in the parcel… I’d been after some cute crops for weeks! They’re also extra soft -   I was sure I wouldn’t be able to fit into my regular size, but these fit really comfortably. There’s nothing like not being able to fit into a pair of jeans to put a whopping downer on your day! With today being the 1st of September I’m also starting to think about digging out my turtlenecks. Me and the high neck are always going to be A/W best buds. This little knit is the first I’ll be wearing as we head into the in-between season – it’s not that heavy to cause me to melt. The only thing is it has shrunk a little… I have seen this one in the Topshop sale, so maybe I sh...

SPRING STYLE | CROPPED DENIM

Image
To me, Spring is a great time to for a denim update. It’s when I like to dig out some of my lighter washes, and maybe treat myself to a new fit for the warmer months ahead. In the past I’ve gone with Mom jeans and slouchy boyfriend shapes, but this year I’m heading for the crop. The cut off style was actually one I wasn’t sure about – I guess I initially though it’d be something like the pairs I used to go for in the noughties, matched with a strappy top and white eye shadow (I think it’s universal that we’re all not okay with the fact that teens are now skipping this stage). Instead, the style now seems a lot more ‘grown up’, something that my 24-year-old self can get away with. The pair I’m wearing here are new in from H&M… A casual, lighter wash just right for this in-between season where the weather can’t quite make it’s mind up. It may only be a little ankle flash, but it’s a nod to warmer temperatures to come, without freezing your nips off.     ...
