SLOUCHY MAXI DRESS & A BEANIE HAT

Image
Hat - c/o My Brother, Dress - American Apparel, Shirt - Charity Shop, Belt - Primark, Boots - Forever 21 I think this is one of my favourite outfits in a while. It's not at all posh, I'm not really wearing anything that's 'on trend', but I know I was super comfy and felt kind of good in what I had on. Probably because that dress is a dream. It's one I found in TK Maxx for £9.99 (yep, I squealed a bit), and despite being two sizes too big I still chose to buy it. Who passes up American Apparel at that price?! It's quite oversized on me, but I like that it's a dress I can go to on a  lazy day. The boob sitch is one I've battled with.. I'm always frightened I'll look down and one will have escaped. I did dare wear it last summer with my chest on show, but that was in NY,  and if you can't flash the girls a bit in NY when can you? This time I just wore it with a huge snuggly scarf.. Boob slip averted.  youtube  /  bloglovin...

GREY DAY

Image
Hat - c/o My Brother, Top - Primark, Coat - New Look, Shorts - Boohoo, Watch - c/o Shore Projects, Bracelet c/o Anna Lou of London, Boots - Forever 21 I think it's about time I got back in a beanie hat. I didn't really bother with them as much last year but I think I've decided I'm once again a lover for the chilly season. Really, who doesn't love something that can disguise horrible hair days?! Alongside beanies, recently I've also been a bit mad for everything grey. Hence a mostly grey outfit. I guess it's just an extension of my monochrome obsession.. Nothing too far out of my comfort zone. I just think it's a good basic colour for A/W - I know the new grey bits & bobs I've added to my life will get worn out over the next few months. The watch is the newest grey thing I've added to my life.. I avoided being a total bore-face and opted for this lighter strap, opposed to the black I was tempted by. I'm glad I went for this ...

VEIL BEANIE & CLEATED SOLES

Image
Beanie - H&M, Coat - Boohoo, Top - Primark, Trousers - Charity Shop, Sandals - c/o La Moda Ummm yep, I'm back in baby pink. I'm trying to get as much wear out of that coat as possible before it's no longer chilly enough for it. I'm hoping that all outwear pastels will continue to be cute next winter.. a couple of months of being able to wrap up like a fluffy marshmallow is not enough for me! Another piece I'm trying to get my last bit of winter wear out of is the veil beanie. I so wish I'd worn this more. It's all dramatic and makes me feel kind of glam in a Joan Collins off to a funeral way. That's the kind of comparison I never thought I'd be making. I was only off to pick up some post (those red slips drive me mad ) so I braved chilly tootsies in my those La Moda cleated sole sandals that I can't stop wearing. I feel like as I'm technically a proper grown up, I need a bit of a heel to make me feel like one. There'...

DUNGAREES & PINK ACCESSORIES

Image
Hat - H&M, Top - Topshop, Dungarees - Missguided, Sandals - c/o La Moda Even though the dungarees craze has probably hit its peak, I still love wearing mine. I've had this black number for a good while now, but it is one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe. I've worn it for everything from interviews to casual coffee trips with my Ma. Paired with a shirt for the former & some cozy knit for the latter.. bye bye are the days where dungarees meant looking like a 5 year old from the 90s! Today I've worn them pretty simple, just going matchy-matchy with the accessories. Matchy-matchy is definitely not a description that's going to make it into the pages of Vogue, but you get what I mean. These baby pink sandals are definitely my favourite shoes at the minute.. La Moda are on point as ever! They're the perfect pastel accompaniment for the candy colours that seem to be everywhere right now.. Topshop is forever making me want an ice cream c...

DAISY PRINT DRESS & CHUNKY BOOTS

Image
Hat - River Island, Choker - eBay, Dress - c/o Yayer , Boots - c/o La Moda I'm looking a little bit like a preggo bear here.. the wind was inflating my dress to the point that I thought I was going to have a Marilyn moment & frighten small children in the area. As you can probably tell (let's pretend I'm not covered in goosebumps..) I was being a tad optimistic weather wise & quickly realised that up north, it is still more than a bit nippy. Boo! Very jealous of anyone making the most of sunshine at the minute.. can summer just be now?! So yeah, I am indeedy trying to embrace S/S style, in the hope that it'll make it feel like warm days are just around the corner. This dress is my start on saying bye bye to winter. I wore daisy print last summer and will happily be doing the same this year. It just has that whole 90s sort of look that makes me think it'd fit right in with the My Mad Fat Diary costume department.. anyone else addicted to that...

BLACK MAXI & CUT OUTS

Image
Beanie - c/o Parody Clothing , Faux Fur Collar - Topshop, Top - c/o Evil Twin , Skirt - H&M Once again, I'm back looking like a a bit of a vampire. For me, there's just something about a black maxi skirt that equals goth.. I guess it's the Morticia vibes. I do completely love dressing all gothic. I can't help but want to slap on the black lippy & be all dark and mysterious.  Moving on. Today's outfit does revolve around the maxi. I just pop one on when I'm in a rush, mixing it up with whatever top I drag out of my wardrobe first and adding some sort of hat. You know I'm practically naked without a hat on. Ha.  I always class a black maxi as a year long must have. I whack a pair of tights on underneath when it's ridonkulously freezing, then wear them in the summer with little crop tops. Currently, they are an excuse to extend the period of not having to expose my rather pale, unloved looking legs to the world. The winter has ...

geometric skirt & a beanie

Image
Beanie - Primark, Top - Republic, Skirt - c/o Lavish Alice , Boots - Missguided I'm back in beanies! What is Fashion Influx without beanie hats ey?! Maybe like Sam Faiers without Joey Essex, or Mike Wazowski without Sulley. Probably not the best comparisons. HA. I never realised how much of a hat person I was/am until I started blogging. In the summer, it's a fedora, and in the winter, it's a beanie. I guess my head just feels a little lonely without something to keep it cosy!  What do we think to this geometric, kind of wrap around skirt? I'm a big fan.. don't you think it's an updated version of that blogger skort?! I'm definitely someone who jumped on that product hype bandwagon so I'm loving a new take on it. The crop top I've paired it with is actually part of a two piece that I've been meaning to show you for months! One day, I will post it with the matching skirt to show you it in all it's monochrome glory. blog...

basketball jersey vest dress & chunky boots

Image
Hat - H&M, Vest - c/o Educate Elevate , Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens Lippy - MAC Sheer Plum Oh Lordy, is it coming up to beanie season once again?! I wouldn’t have put neon yellow & aubergine together but I quite like it! As much as I love beanies, I wish A/W wasn’t coming quite so quickly upon us. If it was chilly enough that we all got to wear cute woolly scarves & chunky beanies then I’d be fine with that, but it’s the doubling up on pairs of tights & walking out looking like the Michelin man that kills me. Ah well, I guess the sunshine has to go at some point! While it is warm enough to get my pins out, I thought I’d wear this perforated vest/dress. One of the upsides to having stumpy legs is that a lot of tops fall quite long on me.. Don’t worry though, I’ve got a pair of shorts on to save myself from flashing my undies/scaring small children. The last picture is me failing to work out how Cara Delevingne pulls off these quirky cute pictures....

crescent moon jumper & exciting news!

Image
Hat - H&M, Sunglasses - Primark, Jumper - c/o Daisy Street , Lace Skirt - River Island, Platform Trainers - Charity Shop Lipstick - Illamasqua (Ignite),  Nails - Sinful Colours (Bikini) & Rimmel Matte Top Coat I’m sure I’ll have probably posted an outfit just like this in the past.. I guess it’s just my sort of thing isn’t it? I have just about managed to get out of my all black obsession, but I just thought the jumper went well the the gothy little lace number. The skirt was purchased in the River Island sale many moons ago (hehe worst joke ever Lydia) and has been paired with lots of baggy over sized tops to cover up a bit. I’m actually wearing gym shorts under it.. dead trendy. Not. Ha. On to my big news! A few of you will have already seen me getting all giddy on Twitter/Instagram, but I wanted to let the rest of you know that I only went & won the Boohoo #globalstyler competition! How insane is that?! Especially when so many amazingly styli...

mini charity shop haul & outfit layouts

Image
OUTFIT 1:  Top - c/o  Pretty Little Thing , Short - Charity Shop, Beanie - c/o  Once Upon A Time , Creepers - Ebay OUTFIT 2:  Dress - Charity Shop, Belt - Primark, Glasses -  Missguided , Platform Trainer - Charity Shop OUTFIT 3: Shirt - Charity Shop, Beanie - River Island, Shorts & Platform Trainers - As Before Bit of a different post today. It sounds daft, but I sometimes get sick of constantly seeing my face on here! There's only so many times I can look at that grumpy expression I've got. Ha. I popped to the charity shops this morning so I thought it was the perfect time to show you my purchases, the pink shorts & crazy 90s platform trainers. I bet some of you are thinking I've lost it.. my mum definitely will! I know, they're pretty ugly but I couldn't resist. If I pretty them up with some cute frilly socks I think they'll look alright. Us shorties all need a bit of height, even if it is in the form of ugly old trainers. Th...

slit side vest & leather jacket

Image
Beanie - Market, Top - c/o Pineapple , Leather Jacket - Topshop (similar here  & here ), Boots - Aggy X Dr Martens Can I take the crown for being the best at taking out of focus pictures? Good effort Lydia! One day, I’m going to get this photography thing. I’ve been looking forward to posting this outfit, mainly because I think some of you will be surprised as to where it’s from.. Pineapple! Who’da thought it? Well, minus ‘Pineapple’ covering the front & giving the game away. I’m dead impressed with this top/dress kind of thing and any preconceived expectation has disappeared. It’s so slouchy & comfy that I don’t think I ever want to wear my usual I-can’t-breath-outfits again. Just kidding, I still love everything body con, but I am now lusting after more sports-lux items. Yes, I’m a little bit naked in this post but it was just better for showing off the splits. I didn’t have a suitable bandeau so I thought what the heck. I know I don’t wear ...
