THINGS ACTUALLY WORTH BUYING FROM EBAY

Image
I'm a bit of an eBay-aholic. I love that you can have a good old hunt around to find things you wouldn't normally find on the highstreet... And it's cheap. I'm regularly searching along the lines of 'blogger eBay must haves', as I've found some amaaazing bargains that way! So, I thought I'd share some of my faves. Admittedly, I've had some horrors from eBay (cheap isn't always best), but these are the bits I definitely think you're worth buying. 1. Makeup tools. One of my favourites to browse for on eBay. There's a whopping variety and prices are cheeeeap. I've had some decent makeup brush sets that have worked well as back ups... Y'know, when the favourites are needing a wash. I picked up the toothbrush looking foundation brush for a few pounds... I'm mainly intrigued by the novelty of it, so I wasn't up for splurging on an expensive option. The Beauty Blenders I got for contouring, although I'm giving myself...

THE CHLOÉ FAYE EBAY DUPE

Image
via eBay The Chloé Faye seems to be the 'it' bag right now. Understandably so... It is freeeeaking fabulous. If you're like me though, you'd have to sell your left kidney to get one. Actually, I'd probably need to sell the right one too. Instead, I was on the hunt for an 'inspired' style.  This one I found on eBay for £17.90 after searching 'chain satchel'. It took a bit of a hunt, but the Gods of cheap eBay crap eventually delivered. It's also from a UK seller so no waiting 6 months for it to arrive from the other side of the world! Don't get me wrong, it's quite clearly not a Chloé handbag - you can't expect incredible quality for under 20 quid, but it will certainly last me this season. It's not a carbon copy either (there's a Jessica Buurman version I'm tempted by that's much more of a likeness) but if anything, I'm happy with something that isn't an exact match. I don't want a handb...

EBAY SHOPPING: THE CROCHET BIKINIS

Image
Birkenstocks, Sunglasses - Quay Australia , Crochet Bikini - eBay Sometimes I get things off eBay and admittedly, it's a total flop. I guess you get what you pay for and if you're thinking it's a bargain at £4 you can't expect a whole lot. On a whole though, I've had some really decent and inexpensive bits from eBay, a few of which will be coming on holiday with me. One of my most recent buys was this crochet bikini. It was under a fiver, really good compared to the prices you see on some crochet stuff! Currently on my pale bod it doesn't look quite so great, but I'm hoping with a tan it'll be okay. This 'it'll be okay with a tan' thing is becoming like my catchphrase. It is small sizing, so I would say go bigger but with the tie fastenings you can get away with it being a bit big. I will quickly mention those sunnies too.. Another Quay Australia pair that I'm loving (I need to remember to say 'key' and not pronou...

NEW IN: GREY

Image
Antique Pot, Silver - H&M & Pandora, Watch - c/o Shore Projects , Camera Case, iPad Case - eBay , Macbook Sleeve - eBay , Knitted Trousers - ZARA I guess I should probably be thinking ahead to SS15, but my head is still telling me to go for everything grey - my fave this season. Yeah it's probably been a bit over done now, but I still like it as a change from monochrome. There are a few bits thrown in this post that aren't 'new in' as such but there all things I'm not sure I've probably mentioned.  So grey wise - firstly it was the gadget related bits & bobs. I've included these because if you're bothered about your shoes you're bothered about that iPad looking cute. Ha. Well, for me I like to keep everything looking smart. I only ever buy stuff like this off eBay. Why would I spend £30 on a case that I can get for just over a fiver on there?! I'd been lusting over the mock-marble case for the Macbook (in true copycat...

RUFFLE TOP

Image
Sunglasses - H&M, Choker - eBay, Necklace - eBay, Top - Ummm I haven't the foggiest.. we're talking 5yrs ago!, Jeans - Missguided, Boots - Forever 21 Golly I've had this top a long time. It's seen me through different boyfriends (we're only talking two & over a number of years.. I'm not confessing to being a hoochy mamma), holidays & events from school through to post university. Yup, I'm also reading this thinking 'gurrrl you need to throw this out'. The thing is, it's one of those things left in my wardrobe that I have got a bit attached to.  I guess it's one of those items in my wardrobe that's kind of sentimental - I can think back to wearing it at college & even now it's still a piece I wear regularly. I don't think it's something that looks like it's walked straight out of 2008 or whatever year I bought it.  Today I've popped it with my current 'uniform'.. When I say uniform,...

GINGHAM DRESS

Image
Choker & Bracelet - eBay, Necklace - Delilah Dust , Dress - c/o Yayer , Rings - c/o La Moda , Creepers - eBay I think this is my favourite post in a while.. everything is oh so summery (despite the fact it is now greyer than grey) and I feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland. Not that Alice in Wonderland would be clomping about in a pair of creepers.  Anyway, this post is all quite girly and sunshine filled. I'm feeling like I've got one of those primary school dresses on that we all used to wear back in the day but I still love it. I think gingham will officially always feel a little bit childlike for that reason - I just remember it being the frill to my socks for the first portion of my life. Actually, I'd probably still wear frilly school socks too. Some things never change. Jewellery wise I'm wearing what I've been going for everyday - a choker & my little crystal necklace, then a few stacked up rings from La Moda. I usually have a couple ...

FLORAL PLAYSUIT

Image
Hat - H&M, Sunglasses - H&M, Choker - eBay, Playsuit - c/o Ashanti Brazil , Belt - Primark, Rings - c/o La Moda , Boots - Dr. Martens It's been a fair old time since I've had my chunky Docs out. Don't get me wrong, I still love 'um to little bits, but they're not exactly shoes for a comfy day. They're just SO heavy, it's like doing a leg work out walking about in them! I do still think they look fab with girly outfits like this flouncy playsuit, so I do on occasion brave wearing them. It's as close as I'm ever going to get to a 'legs day'. The playsuit is a newbie I'm loving for the sunny season. It's very 'me' - kind of feminine but the sort of thing that you can wear with loads of black so you don't feel like such a princess. I know it's quite a deep V neck, but I love that. I just stack on a couple of necklaces to detract from the boob sitch - having long hair helps too (it's saved me f...

COW PRINT SHORTS

Image
Choker - eBay, Mesh Top - Boohoo, Shorts - c/o House of Trendella , Platform Sandals - c/o Pretty Little Thing Dare I say I'm actually smiling in this post?! Well, that's as much of a smile I'm ever going to be doing - I've got one of those permanently miserable looking faces even when I'm at my most chirpy. I'm going to put my cheerfulness down to all this sunshine.. isn't it bloody gorgeous?! I hope you're all getting a bit of summer sunshine. It's amazing what a nice, sunny day can do for your mood don't you think?! I'm back in that mesh top that I wear all too much. Its not exactly summery, but it has become a year round staple in my wardrobe. I've worn it layered under dresses in the winter, and I think I'll be packing it in my suitcase to wear over a bikini on my jollies (did I mention I was going on holiday?! I'm not sure I've talked about it enough.. ha).  I've gone very monochrome once again pairi...

COLLARED PLAYSUIT

Image
Playsuit - c/o Desire Clothing , Creepers - eBay There's no denying this is for the short short lovers amongst us, so 'scuse a little bit of bottom flashing. It's actually not as short as it perhaps looks - definitely not the pants-riding-up style that will no doubt be making a comeback as summer returns!  Anyhoo, I'm a big fan of this sort of playsuit. Cutesy and a little bit flirty..outfits can be flirty right?! I don't know, I just think it has something that makes it perfect for a little night out.. despite the fact that I'm wearing it with my chunky old creepers. I know the whole creepers thing is a bit old now but I still like to cling onto mine for any days when I feel like I need to step down from all things pink and girly, y'know?  I'll keep it short and sweet seen as there isn't much to this outfit.. I kept it quite simple because sometimes I think I add things for the sake of adding them! Really you don't need mu...

CASUAL MIDI DRESS

Image
Choker - eBay, Shirt - Charity Shop, Dress - Topshop, Slip Ons - Topshop Y'know when you've taken blog pictures, and all bar about one are a complete fudge up? That's me today. I would have just let this outfit go to the realms of the 'not quite good enough' folder lurking on my laptop, but I do quite like to post a lazy, casual outfit every now and then. The kind of outfit when I've sort of made an effort, but gone for comfort over everything else. Admittedly, a lot of the time I don't even go to this much effort.. sometimes a day in pyjamas, with scruffy hair & maybe even last night's make up does just happen! Beauty bloggers I apologise for being completely crap. Ha.  What I went for comfy wise was just an old black midi dress, one of those stretchy ones from Topshop. Stretch material on casual days = YES. We all need a bit of jersey fabric in our lives! I've had this dress for ages but it is a good basic to have, ...

MONOCHROME & FLOPPY HAT

Image
Hat - Boohoo , Jumper - c/o Glamorous , Coat - H&M, Trousers - H&M, Boots - Boohoo So off goes Christmas for another year, and back Lydia comes in her favourite black & white outfits. Some things never change! I'm feeling 'cutesied' out with all these traditional Christmas outfits so I'm glad to be back in something simple and smart. Bye bye novelty Christmas jumpers, I'll see you again next year. This is the second winter I've been wearing these H&M pleather trousers to death. As a £7 find in the H&M sale I'm quite loyal to them covering my leather trouser needs while I couldn't afford to buy some fancy ones. They fit really nice (providing I stop eating quite so many mince pies.. one with every cup of tea right?!) and they're actually a lot comfier than I'd imagine. The fact that I've even bothered to shimmy into them three days after Christmas is proof of that.. I have contemplated staying in a onesie fore...

For one, it takes my face out of the equation. Ha. I know this is a personal style blog, but sometimes I do wish it didn't mean seeing so much of myself, up close & in every detail. I'd say blogging definitely makes you a lot more aware of your appearance, don't you think? Sometimes it's nice to just focus on the clothes, they're the bit I want to see more of! In hindsight, I guess this would have made a better 'Topshop Vinyl Skirt Lookbook'.. but I only did two outfits. Lydia, you're a dope. I bought the skirt on pay day after lovingl...

dungarees summer outfit

Image
Hat - Boohoo, Glasses - Missguided, Top - H&M, Dungarees - c/o Mary Jane Fashion , Belt - Primark, Boots - Ebay I’ve probably posted an outfit like this at some point, but I thought these few snaps might still be worth posting. I’ve been making the most of summer outfits recently. Let’s be honest, summer doesn’t last long for us Brits! I just wore one of my basic H&M crop tops under the dungarees. I really need to go get a few more of these. They’re the perfect thing to wear when you don’t have a clue what to pair with something.. a regular occurrence when you’re as indecisive as I am! I love H&M for their little bargain basics.. I know I’ll be popping to them before my holiday to stock up on the bits that I’ve decided I ‘need’. Time to go enjoy this sun while it lasts. I'm thinking a burrito, being lazy in the garden & a spot of Honey Boo Boo. I guess that summarizes my life quite well.. it revolves around food, chill time & crap...
