2016 BEAUTY FAVOURITES SO FAR

Image
It’s June and I can’t even. As we’re six-months into 2016, I thought it’d be a good time to talk favourites. I generally go through months where I’ve got a whole load of new products I live for, then others where I stick to the same old crap – hence the six-month update. Beauty wise this is just a small bundle (some of which you may have already heard me going on about…), but they’re the ones that have made it as favourites of favourites.  Lush Big Shampoo I try so many shampoos and end up disappointed. This has been the first in a long time that I’ve actually been impressed with. I’m now on my second tub… I get through it way too quick as I love how it feels to lather up! If you’ve got hair that’s prone to looking greasy and lank like moi (joy of joyyyys) then this is a babe. It feels like your hair has had a proper scrub and the smell is extra fresh. It’s now one of my wouldn’t be without products.  Lush Let The Good Times Roll This one I’ve definitely gone on abou...

MY FAVOURITE BRAIDS

Image
Yeah, you know I'm all too braid obsessed as of late. Blame Instagram. Everyone's out there with these extra cute braided hair dos, and I'm here with my bird's nest trying to remember when it last got brushed. In hope of smartening up my locks, I've adopted braids as my go-to for helping a sister out. The four above are the ones I tend to go for, plus they're actually pretty easy to master.  1. Braided Ponytail I did this one in a video a while back, with the one above being the standard braid version. It's always one I go for when I'm trying to jazz up a ponytail and helps to show off my blonder bits.  2. Half Up Half Down Yeah, it does make me feel a tad medieval, but I love this one when I want my hair out of my face without it all being scraped back.  3. Dutch Plait I was a die hard French plait for school kind of kid (ain't no time for getting nits), these days opting for the Dutch plait for something a little more chunk...

LIPPY FAVOURITES

Image
Clockwise - MAC Dark Side, MAC Sheer Plum, MAC Honey Love, Maybelline 24 Hour Lip Colour (Pink Spice), Maybelline 24 Hour Lip Colour (Rose Dust), MAC Hue, Maybelline 24 Hour Lip Colour (Soft Taupe) Makeup, at least when it comes to blogging, isn't really my 'thing'. Not that I'm super skilled with it outside of blogging, but when it comes to treating myself I probably spend a lot more on unnecessary beauty products than I do clothes. You just can't beat having a little spend in MAC or coming home from a shopping trip with a little Chanel purchase (few and far between thanks to me having grown up things to pay for like petrol and food.. blehhhh). With 2015 already in full swing I thought I'd do a small round up on a few lippy favourites. Admittedly, there isn't much variety, but I like what I like and as a result go back for many variations of the save thing. MAC loves include Sheer Plum, now discontinued much to my dissapointment and Honey Love.. ...

MY ESSENTIAL A/W ACCESSORIES

Image
For me, Autumn/Winter is the season of accessories. We get wrapped up in layer upon layer, to the point that it has to be the little details that do the talking.. during winter half of the time my layer under my coat doesn't even get seen! It is a random bunch, but I wanted to include a few traditional necessities & some not so obvious ones.. 1. Lots of Chunky Jewellery  (La Moda, SheInside, Vintage, Blog Shop) My main way of avoiding feeling dull in all the dark colours over A/W is adding something chunky jewellery wise. The four here are all ones I'd pop over a turtle neck or with a faux fur collar. I don't know, I guess they just stop everything being a bit too boring?! It's so easy to just forget about wearing pretty things when it's cold, I'd much rather focus on being warm.. But a glitzy necklace is just a little way of letting the chilly season know it hasn't beaten you. I WILL BE DRESSING PRETTY IN THE COLD. Ha. 2. Sun...

summer favourites: fashion, beauty & random

Boots - Office (Old), Phone Case - Ebay, Bass Boomz Speaker - c/o Bass Buds , Dip Dye Top - DIY, Herve Leger Perfume - Avon, Sunglasses - c/o Virgo Health , Rings - H&M, Hat - c/o Daisy Street , Cream Blush - Illamasqua I’m the sort that always wears/loves something to death, until the point where you’re completely sick of the sight of it. Hence why I seem to go through stages on my blog where I’m wearing something over & over again. Beanies, Docs, that same pair of round sunglasses I can’t seem to take off? We’ve all seen me overdoing stuff. Ha. I think if you like something then you might as well make the most of it, because a new ‘essential’ will be added to your life soon enough. Ramble over. My summer favourites are quite random, but I think it’s quite nice to have a look at stuff other than just what people are wearing.. But then I am quite an inquisitive person (nicer way of putting a teeny bit nosey). The little Bass Boomz speaker is firmly attached...

sugar skull nails & Dixi

Image
Today's nails.. the product of much boredom. We all need a little break from revising don't we?! The sugar skulls are my new faves. My hands are pretty small, meaning I don't have much space for nail art on my children's finger nails. The skulls are surprisingly easy to do. You can make them as simple or as complicated as you like.. I'm not even going to attempt to try this on my other hand! There have been lots of posts going around about Dixi  at the mo, so I'm a little late on the bandwagon! Thought I'd show you my fave pieces anyway, their stuff is too pretty to not rave about. The lovely little bits below are on my wishlist. If Ariel from The Little Mermaid was real I definitely think she'd be rocking these. Oh dear revising has sent me craaazy :( x

Earrings Bracelets  Rings  Necklaces Thought I'd show you my fave jewellery bits & bobs. I haven't put where I got everything because I can't actually remember where some things are from! A lot are hand me downs from my momma or have been collected over the years..being a complete hoarder does have a few benefits! The friendship bracelets are probably my most worn items. I've got a big bag full that I made over the summer (one of my previous DIY crazes) that I always swap and wear with the more glitzy stuff. Quite a few of the necklaces are DIYs too.. I need to stop going to Hobbycraft. If anyone does want to know where something is from let me know & I'll try my best to remember! x

march faves & outfit

Squinting like a pro. Lost without sunglasses!! Hat - Market, Necklace - DIY, Sunglasses - H&M, Rings - H&M, Top - Charity Shop, Belt - Dads, Jeans - H&M, Boots - Timberland (LOL) I did not thing my Timberlands would ever see the light of day again. I hope I'm not the only person to have a very brief chavvy stage during my early teens! I've decided to allow them back into my life. They are really chunky so maybe with the right sort of pretty dress they will be cute.  Anywayyy, the main point of the outfit was to show of one of my faves, being the H&M jeans. They really are lovely. Just enough sucky-in-ness without being bloody painful! Earrings - Primark (Old), Chunky rings - H&M, Sudacrem (ruins the cuteness of this picture somewhat), Mac Mineralize Skinfinish, Nail Art Pens - Amazon, Necklace - DIY What a random bunch. I've always had acne (loving life) but my skin has been particularly gruesome this month. My friend told me about dabbing on a ...
