FAVOURITE FLATS

Image
I don't usually see flat shoes as a thing for this season - I normally spend September onwards in chunky boots. Actually, I don't wear flat shoes much in general. I guess that's the thing with having disproportionally short legs... I always feel like I need some sort of heel, even if it's only an inch or so! Stubby leg problems aside, I've finally found a pair of flat shoes that I love.  I got the pair I'm wearing a month or so ago from H&M. I saw them online and ended up buying them in the black and white... They were just what I'd been after, and only cost around £15. I know they're not a style that's for everyone (maybe they're a tiny bit 'witchy?!'), but I'd wanted that pointed fit. They're the sort of flat's that don't feel too casual, y'know? I always go for a heel to smarten things up a bit, but it's nice to have a good pair of everyday flats that can be a smart option too. Here I'...

NEW BLUE | ASOS FARLEIGH JEANS

Image
Jumper - ZARA / Jeans - ASOS / Bag - H&M / Boots - ZARA  Uhhhuh. Bought another pair of jeans. I don't wear blue denim that often (generally because blue isn't black... lol), but I just wanted some basics to wear on casual days. Lighter denim always feels like a relaxed option, and while I like dressing smart-ish, it's nice to have something laid back for those jeans and a tee days. Or in my case, the love of my life that is the turtle neck. The ASOS Farleigh Jeans are a fit that I'm a big fan of right now. That frilled pair are also Farleighs, and I find they work really well for my body type... If you've got a big bum and a waist then these are winners! When it comes to denim I need something that my hips won't be busting out of, while staying fitted to my waist. Praise the Lord when brands can find a fit that works for curvy shapes! The denim doesn't sag on me either - they're sturdy enough to hold everything in without feel...

FRILLY DETAILS

I think I could quite happily live in these jeans forever. They’re frilly and fun and I don’t even mind feeling like a member of ABBA in them. I’d been after a pair of these for months after seeing them on Instagram – I’m not sure if they were the ASOS ones, but I couldn’t find them anyway. Thaaankfully, ASOS eventually had some in stock in both the black and blue denim. I’m still tempted to order the light wash version too… I think they’d be extra cute worn casual with trainers. I just wore this when heading out for a few drinks – I’m the typical ‘jeans and a top’ girl when it comes to evening attire. I’m usually in a rush, so denim just makes life easier! The top I’ve already worn to death for night’s out… With it being long sleeved it means I can avoid lugging a jacket round with me. Outfit wise I really want to get my wear out of these frilled bottoms – they’re too sweet to be the sort of statement piece I’ll only wear once! Maybe paired with a slouchy tee ne...

PATCHWORK JEANS

Image
Aaaand we have another denim outfit. I’m at least proud that all the styles I’ve been wearing are pretty different. Usually I just end up buying various versions of black skinnies. I’ve got a pair coming up in few posts time that are the dream, yet aren’t your typical jeans. For now though, it’s a tweaked version of my favourite high-waisted style – a new pair from Dorothy Perkins. Aren’t they cute?! I love that they fit sort of loose, yet work well on giving a gal some shape in the bottom department… I can find some high-waisted styles are ridiculously unflattering in that area! I’ve come to realise that pocket placement is a big deal. Most of this outfit is actually from Dotty Ps. I picked out a few bits for their Style Heroes campaign and I did really like the outfit. It sounds very ‘First World problems’, but picking out clothes online for blogger projects can be really tricky. I struggle working out what’s going to go well together based on a couple of pictur...

FRAYED DENIM

Image
I started out my blog as a hater of jeans. We’re now reaching two posts in a row with denim features. How times have changed. These days I’m a jeans lover – I actually ordered two pairs from ASOS this week, with this pair a being a new treat from River Island. I was so chuffed to see this style in the parcel… I’d been after some cute crops for weeks! They’re also extra soft -   I was sure I wouldn’t be able to fit into my regular size, but these fit really comfortably. There’s nothing like not being able to fit into a pair of jeans to put a whopping downer on your day! With today being the 1st of September I’m also starting to think about digging out my turtlenecks. Me and the high neck are always going to be A/W best buds. This little knit is the first I’ll be wearing as we head into the in-between season – it’s not that heavy to cause me to melt. The only thing is it has shrunk a little… I have seen this one in the Topshop sale, so maybe I sh...

BLUE BOY JEANS

Image
Wanna know what I was actually up to here? Stood outside a bed shop buying a mattress. Ha. A glamorous blogging life would be nice, but 90% of the time it’s just me finding some random wall while I’m out running errands. Also, why are mattresses so expensive?! Not okay with being a grown up. What I’m wearing here felt appropriate for mooching about house shopping… It was slouchy Sunday after all. Generally, I wear the most relaxed item I can get away with on a Sunday – hence why I’m wearing the laziest looking boy jeans. I bloody love these, even though they’re old. They’re comfortable, and I’ve also got no idea what size they are. I can pretend they’re an 8 and I’m just tiiiiny and they’re hanging off me. LOL. Reality is they’re probably a 14 or something, but a girl can pretend! That jacket is also the oldie. I’ve already added a new leather jacket to my mental Christmas list as this one has definitely had it, but I do still like it in its own bashed up w...

LACE LAYERING

Image
You know when you find something in your wardrobe that you’d completely forgot about, then proceed to wear it every other day for the next month? This little bralet has become that item. I loved it way back when I got it (we’re talking at least a year ago), but somewhere along the way it was consumed by an overflowing top drawer. I took these pictures before I went away, but it did end up coming on holiday with me too. It’s a good layering piece for pairing with girly options. Here I just went basic, with black jeans and that ZARA shirt I’ve always loved… And yup, I’m keeping it monochrome as ever. Here I was just heading to get coffee (currently classed as my hobby), so jeans and a slouchy shirt was good enough for me. Right, time for me to head out for some grub. With all the house stuff going on at the minute I’m ready for an evening that doesn’t involve ringing the bank, talking to solicitors and looking at sofas. Sunglasses - Celine / Shirt -...
