Okay, underwear as outerwear is no new thing. It’s been around for a while and I’ve always been a fan… Some undie-style garments are just too nice to cover up! With Winter almost upon us though, no one’s expecting much of a bra flash. Instead, I’ve been starting to layer up with my favourite chunky jumpers. The camisole style I’ve got on here is just right for me over winter – it’s lacy and pretty feminine, yet it’s something you can make really practical worn over a big knit. I picked up this one from H&M the other day as an inexpensive layering piece. It’s just something to liven up the chunky jumpers I’ll be wearing day in, day out until Spring!  The jumper is another H&M purchase I got this autumn – you can never have too many roll necks. It’s probably a little too hefty for the silky number over the top, but I don’t mind that. I’ll be wearing this one when it’s extra cold, and a thinner turtle neck on less wintery days.  So, for ...

I'd been wanting to add a pinafore dress to my life for A/W, so when I this one in H&M I knew it'd be a worthy investment. To me, they're a real classic for the season... I probably feel like that because they're the sort of thing I wore way back in the 90s when my mum still picked my outfits! She loved a pinafore and patterned tights combo. This one feels like a grown up version with the V neck and mid thigh skimming length.  The other reason I love a pinafore dress is because they're faaab for layering. I know this will be my favourite choice for pairing with turtle necks (and we all know how I feel about a turtle neck!). For now, I've been baring my legs in this, but I think it'll still be cute with thick, opaque tights. I think I’ve been wearing this knitted high neck way more than is acceptable for what’s the end of May. Having said that, it’s one of my favourite little layering piece. I love it for getting wear out of summery items that it’s not quite warm enough for. A knit like this is something I wear plenty right through from those colder months up until it’s properly (if ever!) warm. Here I’m just wearing it under this casual playsuit, one I had for last year’s holiday. This will probably make it along for this year’s jols too – it’s just what you need when you’ve overdone it tanning up. Ouchy. I think it is designed with the beach in mind, but I like it smartened up a bit with the knit.
