THE FAVOURITE COMBO | WHITE SHIRT & BLACK JEANS

Image
When we’re talking wardrobe essentials, it’s the white shirt and black jeans that top all basics for me. It’s a combination that has saved me from many a ‘what the fudge am I wearing’ occasion, as well as being favourites worn separately. I wear shirts like this for both days off and work, while black jeans I can pretty much live out my days in. It’s no fuss outfits like this that I love. Big time.  Almost everything I’m wearing here was from Next , picked out for a cute pub meal the evening before Ascot. I was so thankful for having gone oversized with the shirt… The best option for hiding a pub grub food baby. It’s extra slouchy and light, so I’m thinking of packing it up for my holidays to wear as a beach cover up.   Time now for me to go crack on with some blog pictures. I’ve been super busy recently with house and general life stuff, so it’s nice to have a bit of self indulgent time to faff about taking pictures of makeup. Ha. I’ll probably be saying thi...

ROYAL ASCOT WITH NEXT | LADIES DAY OUTFIT

Image
Heading to the races is probably one of my favourite things. Despite being more of casual dresser, I flipping love putting on a fancy frock for a girly day out. I’d never been to Ascot, so when Next asked if I’d like to head along with a few blogging ladies I was majorly up for it! I feel like Ascot is one of those schmancy days out that I’d have probably never got round to, so I’m extra happy that I’ve ticked it off the bucket list.  Outfit planning for this was pretty major. It took me a lot of uhhming & ahhing on the Next website , but eventually I decided on navy and dusky pink. I sort of felt like I should go for something summery, but this kind of look is way more ‘me’. It’s nothing out there, but it feels quite classic and feminine. Also… Can you believe the dress is only £38?! I’m so glad I went for it! It fit really well and I know it’s something I’ll wear again. The shoes and bag felt like a good contrast, while the hat was another bargain… £9 off ...

MATCHING SETS & TEACUPS

Image
Underwear Set - c/o Next , Teacup & Saucer - Vintage Oh how it's nice to have underwear that actually matches. Now that's what I thought my 20s would be about - being generally more sorted, having good eyebrows & doing exciting stuff (aaand that's definitely not always the case..). This set is another little dream from Next that I'd been wanting to show you. It's got all that femininity in there, with a bit of extra padding to help my mosquito bites out - always appreciated.  It's probably a bit random to throw my knicks in there with teacups, but this kind of ended up a culmination of newness. I say new, this teacup & saucer set is actually probably really old. I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I've been stalking antiques shops recently and this was one of my latest purchases. It wasn't expensive, just one that I liked the look of. Isn't it pretty? I guess it's a bit of a Lady Gaga sort of thaaang but it's just righ...

AN UNDIES UPDATE

Image
Underwear Set - c/o Next Ow how pretty are these? I just thought I'd post a quick update on a these newbies in my life as they are beautiful. I'm on a one woman mission to banish all mismatching undies in my life (basically everything in my underwear drawer) and this has started things off. Yeah, I'm not sure if showing my latest knicks on here is a bit odd, but I just think this kind of thing is an extension of my wardrobe.  I think this set is a bit 50 Shades inspired, which isn't really my thing but I am nonetheless into the grey trend. I think something like this under a semi sheer shirt (don't want to be flashing tooo much) with grey trousers would be lovely. On a final note - I'm yet to burn the Jo Malone candle I bought months ago just because it looks too pretty. I'm going to vow that this weekend my life will be Peony & Blush Suede fragrance!    youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr /...
