WINTER WARDROBE ESSENTIALS

Image
The snow couldn't have arrived at a better time! I'd been meaning to do this post for a couple of weeks, so thanks Mother Nature for the lovely, wintery setting. Seen as we're now bearing the brunt of the chilly season, I wanted to share my favourite essentials for getting through the colder months with extremities intact. These bits are my essentials for wrapping up warm, without feeling like a total woolly mammoth. Beanie Hats Ok, so a woolly hat is kind of an obvious one, but the beanie hat is my particular favourite. For casual days at this time of year, I’m always sticking one on. They keep me cosy and also disguise a multitude of bad hair day problems. Turtlenecks Of course my favourite fit had to feature. I feel like I've spent the majority of winters as an adult in a turtleneck. I have a load of different colours in my wardrobe as they’re a great basic for wearing alone a...

INVESTMENT PIECES FOR AUTUMN/WINTER

Image
Leather Gloves  /  Faux Fur Collar  /  Leather Jacket  /  Wool Overcoat  /  Wool Scarf  /  Black Boots  /  Tan Cardigan  /  Chunky Knit  /  Embellished LBD Although I am the sort that needs a lie down after buying more than one thing in Topshop, I do feel more swayed into quality over quantity these days. Rather than too many cheap, trend led pieces that I won't get much wear out of,  I'd rather have a few classics that I know will last me a good few seasons. I think autumn is definitely a good time to invest in that sort of thing. An extra soft knit, a LBD to see you through a range of festive shindigs, boots that go with every freaking outfit. They're my sort of investment pieces... I tick off the winter essentials for turning up the cosy factor (the big wool coat and gloves, that sort of thing), before going for a few statement styles to livening up my look over A/W (the leather b...

WHAT'S IN MY BAG

Image
Bag - c/o Missguided , Nail File - Leighton Denny , Gum, Samsung NX Mini Camera , Purse, iPod , Maybelline Lipstick, Swarovski Pen , The Wet Brush  (if you love Tangle Teezers you'll love these!), Sally Hansen Hard As Nails, Herve Leger Perfume, Pencil Case Answer? A whole load of rubbish. Essential rubbish though. Yeah it'd be nice if my handbag was full of a few more fancy things, but really what I need is an endless supply of chewing gum and bog standard hair bobbles for wayward hair. I'm definitely the Mary Poppins sort when it comes to handbags.. Dashing out the door with just my bank card and car keys just isn't my kind of thing. I need a safety blanket of stuff. Alongside numerous screwed up receipts, crumbs and empty packets of crisps. Glaaaamorous. Lol.  My main essentials (other than the tradition purse, phone etc.) are nail stuff, my camera and my iPod. Nails wise I just can't deal with getting an annoying snag that desperately needs fili...

DOROTHY PERKINS STYLE ESSENTIALS - A/W14

Image
Outfit 1 - Shirt, Jeans & Shoes - c/o Dorothy Perkins , Coat - H&M Outfit 2 - Textured Top, Trousers & Shoes - c/o Dorothy Perkins , Fur Scarf - Zara, Hat - Boohoo So when Dorothy Perkins asked me to get involved with this A/W style essentials post I was hella' excited. As much as I'm not a fan of colder weather, I probably love A/W fashion a whole lot more. Especially the must have basics that you spend October - February wearing.  My basics this year are the Skinny Roll Up Jeans & the Textured Top - aren't they both lovely?! I've recently discovered that jeans are something I can no longer live without (before all these super soft denims I was never a fan - way too uncomfortable!). I now always go for jeans when I'm not sure what to wear. It's flats and a slouchy top for daytime and heels and some nice shirt for an evening out when I don't want to look like I've tried too hard.. When I've in fact spent a g...
