SUSSING OUT PERSONAL STYLE

Image
Sometimes, I find talking about my outfits tricky. The thing is, I like pretty basic styles. I’m also mostly monochrome, and generally go for simple fits. There are no crazy new prints, bright shades or out-there embellishments. I guess when I started blogging there was more of that, but I’ve grown up with this blog and over time I’ve worked out my style. I think it’s just sussing out what’s really ‘you’ – I don’t like anything that makes me stand out too much, I’m happy to be glam but also just as happy casual, and I love the classic wardrobe staples. After all these years of buying my own clothes it’s about time I worked out what I actually like!   I think the main thing for sussing out your style is giving yourself time. It took me years to finally look at my wardrobe and think this is ‘me’… Summing up yourself in a bunch of clothes is kind of difficult anyway. It’s not necessarily going to take that long, but I don’t think anyone works out their style overnight. ...

SPRING DAYTIME GET READY WITH ME

Image
Ahem. Bare legs. Okay, it didn't last long. I did have to throw over a jumper and a longer coat, but I was determined this weekend would be a chance for my legs to see sunlight again. I'm so ready for the warmer days!  I'd not actually worn this dress before - it's relatively new, but I couldn't face having to stick it with tights. I guess it is the sort I could wear on an evening out, but I love this sort of thing dressed down with trainers. It feels really girly, without being too dolled up.  Hair & makeup also ended up being quite feminine. I went pretty natural apart from the pinkish lip - that shade is one of my favourites right now. Hair was an undo as my locks were probably 90% dry shampoo today... I'm trying to stop washing my hair everyday as I know it's really stripping it! Anyway, I'm off for a Lush bath now as I've spent all day faffing about editing this one - I was filming at 8am and we're live by 6pm. For...

WEARING MATCHING TONES

Image
Okay, so actually more of a camel mis-match, but I'm still loving this sort of thing recently - wearing shades from a similar palette. I was going to go for my camel coat too, but as I’ve been wearing it far too much I went for the grey… It’s still one of my favourite colour combinations anyway. The leggings were an inexpensive newbie I added to my wardrobe last week. I just wanted something camel to wear on my bottom half as I’ve got loads of tops in that colour… These are just right for pairing up in matchy outfits! I’m always on the lookout for trousers/leggings that I can wear with my trainers too – I’m pretty much living in them on weekends! As much as I love all this layering up in natural tones, I am looking forward to bringing out some lighter colours for my spring/summer wardrobe. I’m thinking light denim & white t-shirts of every variety. Bliss! Faux Fur Collar - Claire's / Jumper - New Look / Coat - Primark / Leggings -...

ALL BLACK CASUAL

Image
Sunglasses - Céline, T-Shirt - H&M, Coat - Boohoo , Bag - Paul's Boutique, Jeans - Primark, Trainers - adidas Superstar This is my sort of day off outfit. Casual, all black and comfy. As much as I love getting dolled up, I could also spend forever in my lazy day look. Here I was just on a trip round the local antiques shops with my parents, so I wasn't wearing anything fancy. The trainers I've been living in (and so far, managing to keep them clean), which means I'm constantly picking out outfits that go with them. It's just a shame I wore freeeeaking pop socks that make my feet look dead & wrinkly - ruining the vibe. Ha.  All the other bits I'm wearing are also up there in my favourite basics. A good pair of sunglasses, simple black tee, the coat I wear with everything & cheap black skinny jeans. I've been thinking of investing in a pair of Topshop Jamie jeans, but to be honest, my Primark ones I ripped up a bit suit m...
