A couple of weeks ago I showed you some of my favourites from two new collections from Look Again – a dreamy range from Stacey Solomon and some classic looks by Laura Scott. With A/W quickly coming round, I’ve picked out a few collection favourites for refreshing my wardrobe – think chunky knits, timeless coats and sheer layers. You know when you just need a week of doing very little? By the time holiday season comes round, that’s all I’m after. A week of relaxing, napping and having to think very little. God I love a little bit of time where my biggest decision is where to go for tea. Bliss! I’ve just shared a few clips from my holiday over on YouTube – I tried the whole vlogging thing this time round and for once it wasn’t a total flop… despite plenty of shuddery, out of focus bits that didn’t make the cut! I don’t think I’ll every be one for walking round talking into a camera, but I do like being able to put everything together to look back on. Blogging wise I’ve had over a week off, a first in probably four years. I’m not going to try play it cool… I’m already reaching that ridiculous level of holiday excitement. Over the last few weeks I’ve been trying to get my act together and really sort out my holiday wardrobe – in the end I opted for a big Boohoo haul, getting the bulk of it sorted in one go. This year I’ve gone extra basic. I’m sticking to the colours I know I’ll wear again, and styles that I can add into my summer wardrobe at home. Actually, everything that arrived I’ve really loved! I never want to spend too much on holibob clothing (it seems daft when you spend your days in biknis anyway), so these bits are perfect for a week when my main goal is bronzing up. We’re off to Menorca this year, so expect plenty of holiday posts throughout July. I’m really looking forward to it this time round – as much as I love holidays, I can find the process a bit stressful! I’m a bugger for letting anxiety get the better of me, but I’m feeling much more relaxed about everything...

Back on the braiding hype. I love this time of year for getting back to all these boho styles... It just feels extra summery and feminine! My holiday is less than a month away and I'm already looking forward to beach braids - it's the only thing I can cope with when I'm sunning myself.  This look is just one I quickly tried out... It doesn't take long at all and it's the sort of thing you can make up as you go along. I do anyway. I always prefer it when braids like this aren't quite perfect - tufty bits & uneven strands. This weekend has involved a lot of basics - clothing and lifestyle wise. I've spent most of it doing life admin, which is probably why my weekend looks have been pretty simple. On a casual day, black jeans, black boots and a simple t-shirt is enough for me. It's my favourite sort of daytime look and one that doesn't involve a huge amount of effort. In between all the grown up, adulty things I've had to get through, I did manage to film some 'get ready routine' clips. On a day to day basis I do keep things same-y, but I had a couple of new clothing bits I fancied dressing up in. The jeans and belt combo is probably something I'm going to wear to death this summer, so be prepared for seeing both a lot. Loving everything high waisted forever.
