NEW BLUE | ASOS FARLEIGH JEANS

Image
Jumper - ZARA / Jeans - ASOS / Bag - H&M / Boots - ZARA  Uhhhuh. Bought another pair of jeans. I don't wear blue denim that often (generally because blue isn't black... lol), but I just wanted some basics to wear on casual days. Lighter denim always feels like a relaxed option, and while I like dressing smart-ish, it's nice to have something laid back for those jeans and a tee days. Or in my case, the love of my life that is the turtle neck. The ASOS Farleigh Jeans are a fit that I'm a big fan of right now. That frilled pair are also Farleighs, and I find they work really well for my body type... If you've got a big bum and a waist then these are winners! When it comes to denim I need something that my hips won't be busting out of, while staying fitted to my waist. Praise the Lord when brands can find a fit that works for curvy shapes! The denim doesn't sag on me either - they're sturdy enough to hold everything in without feel...

THE PINAFORE DRESS

Image
I'd been wanting to add a pinafore dress to my life for A/W, so when I this one in H&M I knew it'd be a worthy investment. To me, they're a real classic for the season... I probably feel like that because they're the sort of thing I wore way back in the 90s when my mum still picked my outfits! She loved a pinafore and patterned tights combo. This one feels like a grown up version with the V neck and mid thigh skimming length.  The other reason I love a pinafore dress is because they're faaab for layering. I know this will be my favourite choice for pairing with turtle necks (and we all know how I feel about a turtle neck!). For now, I've been baring my legs in this, but I think it'll still be cute with thick, opaque tights. Yes, two-pair-of-tights-season may well be coming, but I'm not ready to embrace it quite yet!  Shirt, Pinafore Dress & Bag - H&M / Boots - ZARA SHOP THE POST JavaScript is currently disabled i...

FRILLY DETAILS

Image
I think I could quite happily live in these jeans forever. They’re frilly and fun and I don’t even mind feeling like a member of ABBA in them. I’d been after a pair of these for months after seeing them on Instagram – I’m not sure if they were the ASOS ones, but I couldn’t find them anyway. Thaaankfully, ASOS eventually had some in stock in both the black and blue denim. I’m still tempted to order the light wash version too… I think they’d be extra cute worn casual with trainers. I just wore this when heading out for a few drinks – I’m the typical ‘jeans and a top’ girl when it comes to evening attire. I’m usually in a rush, so denim just makes life easier! The top I’ve already worn to death for night’s out… With it being long sleeved it means I can avoid lugging a jacket round with me. Outfit wise I really want to get my wear out of these frilled bottoms – they’re too sweet to be the sort of statement piece I’ll only wear once! Maybe paired with a slouchy tee ne...

THIS SEASON'S COAT

Image
It's been a while since I took pictures in my room. It's actually one of my favourite spots to take outfit shots, but it also requires a lot of rearranging... My childhood bedroom is about to give up with housing an adult's worth of stuff. I'm still house hunting and can't wait to have my own place set up to make blogging easier! Here I'm just wearing what I wore to head out for food. We were off for burgers at Urban 1/4 so my tightest skinny jeans weren't my best idea, but they're my no effort, smart-ish option. With it being that awkward inbetween season weather, I dug this New Look coat out of my wardrobe. It's a lighter option and I do like it, but I'm still after a new coat for Spring. I have no idea what to go for though, so for now this will have to do! The boots I'm wearing are new in from Ego. I feel like they up my sass by at least 60%. Any sort of pointy shoe has that effect I think. I've got a lot of casual bo...

LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS PARTY OUTFITS

Image
With Christmas party season in full swing, I thought I'd share some last minute party outfits for festive shindigs! I love that Christmas always feels extra glamorous - an excuse to wear heels more and make red lipstick a regular thing. Having said that, these outfits are more things you can make up from bits you've already got in your wardrobe, rather than being overly 'Christmassy'. I do like sequins and sparkles, but I suppose this is more my sort of thing!  I had to include a LBD in there. It's always a failsafe... I did nearly throw this one away but I'm glad I clung onto it! If I'm really struggling to know what to wear on a night out, I always go with something black & simple.  This is more something I'd wear on a girly night out, rather than the work Xmas do. It's more of a fun look, flashing a bit more flesh without being too 'look at my nuddy bits'. This one is also way more practical for me if I'm going ...

BLACK TROUSERS

Image
Crop Top - Primark, Trousers - Topshop (old), Heels - New Look Whenever I wear these trousers a big part of me does think they’re ridiculous. Lovely, but ridiculous. A drop crotch that low? Yup. It all feels a bit Bieber, but at the same time I think they’re quite smart looking. They’re a really old sale purchase, but I hold onto them because that part of me that thinks they’re faaaab can’t quite let go.  It took me a while to work out how I liked wearing them but I generally find they're best with heels.. More of an evening out thing. If not that low slung fitting does end up looking a tad crazy on my short legs. Even though they are  only black trousers, I do think they're quite 'statement-y', so for me I think a simple look works best. I wish I was the sort that could wear clashing prints and crazy pieces together but I'm just not, so there's no point forcing it.  I did actually come across these while having a massive wardrobe clear out....

GREY ON GREY

Image
Sunglasses - New Look, Top - Primark, Skirt - Topshop , Heels - New Look I got into this whole grey clothing phase and now I can't get out of it. Meh. I still like it, and I think it's a casual sort of colour that goes with the kind of things I get up to.. basically nothing too glamorous. I'd actually worn this during a trip out to a food festival (aka Heaven), where instead of heels I wore my usual black boots. Stomping through a somewhat muddy field in these New Look heels wouldn't have been a good idea.  The skirt I picked up over the weekend as a payday treat. It was only £22 which I don't think is bad for Topshop. I was after a couple of pencil skirts so I can get away with bare legs for a little longer.. I'm not ready to accept tights back into my life anytime soon. I was actually after the longer length style (those ones that look really good even if they may be a tad difficult to walk in) but apparently they ain't so common on the hig...

VIDEO: AUGUST LOOKBOOK

Image
Well I've gotta say I was hoping my August Lookbook would be a whole lot more summery. It hasn't been bad this weekend, but yeah, not much chance of me getting the shorts on. I feel like I moan about the weather a lot on here at the minute.. Lol. I'm going to shut up. Lookbook wise I quite liked filming the last one, so thought I'd pop one up for this month. It is super short, but I kind of prefer that sort of thing (my Internet connection does anyway.. the times I've had 'share failed' on anything over 5 minutes) and I think I've covered everything. All the details are in the description, plus quite a few of the items I'm wearing are new so you should be able to still get hold of them!  youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram x

STRIPED JUMPSUIT

Image
Jumpsuit - Forever 21 , Sandals - Office This was one of my favourite holiday outfits. You know the 'ooh I'll save that for the last night' sort of look. Plus I decided I had white bits I needed to tan up before I dare flash them - this is backless, so it was a braving braless job. Back home I wouldn't really risk it, but on holiday it just feels like you can get away with so much more (as long as you keep an eye on the gals).  Anyway, the jumpsuit was one I picked up in a big holiday haul from Forever 21. Most of my evening outfits were from there - I always like their stuff and it's cheap enough to not feel too bad if they do  only get worn on  holiday (I'm trying to get some wear out of some bits now I'm back but the weather ain't quite Greece heat). This one I'll hopefully save for an evening out.. I just love the fit and the navy makes a nice change. Ugh, I wish I could wear holiday outfits forever!  youtube / bloglovin ...

FLORAL FROCKS

Image
Dress - H&M, Sandals - Office Did I show you all this dress when I went to Barcelonaaaa (I'm singing it in my head)? I bought it specifically for the trip with Roxy - I  thought  it was dressy enough in case I needed something a bit more 'dolled up', but also cute with casual sandals. Plus it put me well and truly back in touch with my girly side. Much needed. H&M is always my go-to when I'm in need of an outfit for something specific, that also won't mean I end up scrimping and saving for the rest of the month. I think this was around the £25 mark, so not bad for a little party frock. The sandals are the pair I took on holiday last year and wore religiously - same happened this time round. They're just really comfy but they have got a bit of a heel to stop me feeling quite so short in the leg. If Office ever did a pair in black it'd be like the gods had spoken.  Oh, and I am teetering on the edge of having had way too much sun here...

CUT OUTS

Image
Top - Topshop, Trousers - Charity Shop, Heels - New Look My Ma actually picked me this little top up.. She’s a good ‘un! I love how she can always get my style but also do that mamma thing where they sort of sway you into dressing more how they’d like..  Lol. I know she likes to see me in a few lighter colours but I’m happy for someone to drag me out of my boring black! Plus this baby blue is really pretty for this time of year.  I’m just wearing it with those charity shop high waisted trousers that I’ve worn relentlessly over the years. I’ve definitely got my money’s worth to say they were probably about £3. Really I should get back into hunting down some charity shop bargains.. I feel like there was a bit of a craze for it at one point that’s died down somewhat now. Does anyone else still go?! Inspire me to get myself to the local Red Cross please! youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram...
