BLOGGER CONFESSIONS

Image
If I love reading something, I want to get involved and write about it too. So, as a seriously snoopy person, I thought I’d share my own blogger confessions for anyone who fancies knowing the sneaky bits. I’ve been giving myself a bit of time out from really getting stuck into blogging over recent months, so I did think this’d be another nice one to get back to writing. I don’t mind a quick outfit post, but I don’t just wanna spend my blogging life talking about what trousers I’m wearing. Right, forgive me for my blogging sins – it’s time to ‘fess up. Sometimes, I fucking hate blogging. I don’t live, sleep and breathe blogging. Part of me wishes I did, but I don’t. For me, it’s a nice part of my life that I really value, and while it’s rare that I completely fucking hate it, sometimes I do, for a multitude of reasons. I think what it comes down to is that there are just so many aspects of blogging that aren’t ‘me’. It’s not always something that I can relate to, and w...

BLOGGING TIPS | THINGS TO REMEMBER

Image
I think we’ve mostly clocked onto the fact that blogger tips are a bit of a thing. Don’t get me wrong – I freaking love them. I’ve learnt a lot reading them, and always love to hear the sneaky bits of info that can make blogging life easier. How to use Google Analytics properly, better ways to take fancy looking product shots… all sorts of stuff. I’ve also really enjoyed writing them myself – I love sharing all this relatable crap, and they are some of my most popular posts. Having said that, I do think there’s a bit of a need to ‘chill’ when it comes to posts on blogging tips. I’m talking more in the respect that any tip is just advice, rather than a one-track route for success. It’s something I’m aware of when I’m writing this sort of post – sometimes I feel like I need a disclaimer saying ‘this has helped, but it wasn’t everything’. We’re all caught up in ‘how tos’ and ’10 ways to’ and ‘things to’. Ha… See what I mean?! Really, there’s way more to it than a simple list of ...

ISSUES YOU'LL NEED TO OVERCOME IN BLOGGING

Image
With blogging, comes great responsibility. Lol. I'm kidding. Partly. I know really that blogging is pretty much fun and games... However, I also think that there are some stumbling blocks that you encounter, that you end up having to get your head around before you can work out the situation. After 3 ish (is it that long?! It could be longer!) years of blogging, I've definitely come across a fair few blogger issues that I've now learnt to deal with. These are the five biggies that I reckon most of us will have had experience with, and the ones that I think I've now sussed out.  Knowing when to say no.  This was one I struggled with for a while, because with blogging I feel like you never want to seem ungrateful. At the same time, people can take the p*ss with bloggers. Learning when to say no was a big deal for me, and I think I've really had to work on finding the balance with being firm yet polite. I've had times when I've had to put my foot down, an...

THINGS THAT BUG ME ABOUT BLOGGING

Image
Ummhum. Back with a little moan. It's therapeutic, I'm sure. As much as I enjoy blogging I have mentioned that I have a few little grumbles about it that get on my wick. Nothing major, more niggles that I think some of you might relate to.. We all find things to moan about, no matter how much you love something.   My lack of phone memory. Anyone else got any blogging niggles?! Big yes to having a good First World Problems whinge. I don't know why I need those 50 other selfies that didn't make the cut but I do. There's blog pictures, various editing apps for Instagram, numerous snaps of food - y'know the stuff. 90% of the time my phone has that irritating 'storage space is low' notification up. Go away please.  Having to be a social butterfly. I should probably be tweeting away and doing all this schmoozing and networking but admittedly, there are times when I'm much happier sat eating crisps, wearing ugly pyjamas and watch...

BLOGGING: WHAT PEOPLE THINK I DO.. WHAT I ACTUALLY DO

Image
I think without intending to I've ended up with these daft blogging posts becoming a bit of a series.. I love having a giggle at anything relatable (I spend half my life reading the '20 things you'll realise in your twenties' sort of posts..), and for me this is all relevant. It's kind of a follow on from the Blogger's Misconceptions post I did.. I think anyone who blogs quickly realises that not everyone 'gets' blogging. So, here's what people think I do, and what I actually do..  What my friends think I do - sit in a mountain of freebies. Yeah, bloggers do indeed get their fair share of freebies thrown their way, so it's kind of understandable. Not many of my friends are really into the whole blogging scene so getting a few things in the post every now and then is a bit of a novelty. It is really lovely and I do appreciate it, but it does come with work attached.  What my parents think I do - spend my life sat playing Candy Cr...
