CASUAL DRESSING | WEEKEND MONOCHROME

Image
When it comes to casual dressing, for me it’s a three-point thing. Flats, extra comfy bottoms and a slouchy bag to lug about all my crap in. On days off, this is exactly the kind of thing I go for. Something I can slob about in without feeling like a total scruff... I tend to go for monochrome to smarten things up a little, I just think it feels more like a put together version of comfy casuals!  Comfy Bottoms Leggings as trousers isn’t something I regularly sport out of the house (in the house it’s a different story – I live my life in leggings) but when it comes to those CBA days they’re my first choice, as long as they’re suitably suck-y in-y. I usually pair them with something that covers up my ass – I’m not quite brave enough to go all out with the leggings & crop top combo. That tends to mean a slouchy top, but as I had my rucksack here I thought I could get away with it. It's all about the comfort, both in not feeling like I'm wearing restricti...

GETTING BACK TO SMART CASUAL

Image
After months of loving lounge wear, I've turned a corner. As much as I like weekends spent in snuggly matching sets and trainers, I'd started to miss dressing up. Well, going for something a little smarter anyway - I'm never in anything thaaat fancy, but I'm a huge fan of smart/casual outfits. With a Bank Holiday breakfast trip on the cards, I had a good excuse to get back to feeling a tad glam.  When it comes to getting my daytime glam on, I usually start with fail-safe black trousers. They're slimming, I feel comfortable in them and they're an easy option for making up an outfit. My favourite pair are these pleather ones from H&M. They're now old and have seen better days, but they've seen me through many a smart/casual occasion. With black trousers usually come the black boots - I like something with a tiny bit of a heel for feeling like I'm 'put together' without being OTT. Again, the pair I'm wearing are long p...

SPRING DAYTIME GET READY WITH ME

Image
Ahem. Bare legs. Okay, it didn't last long. I did have to throw over a jumper and a longer coat, but I was determined this weekend would be a chance for my legs to see sunlight again. I'm so ready for the warmer days!  I'd not actually worn this dress before - it's relatively new, but I couldn't face having to stick it with tights. I guess it is the sort I could wear on an evening out, but I love this sort of thing dressed down with trainers. It feels really girly, without being too dolled up.  Hair & makeup also ended up being quite feminine. I went pretty natural apart from the pinkish lip - that shade is one of my favourites right now. Hair was an undo as my locks were probably 90% dry shampoo today... I'm trying to stop washing my hair everyday as I know it's really stripping it! Anyway, I'm off for a Lush bath now as I've spent all day faffing about editing this one - I was filming at 8am and we're live by 6pm. For...

NEW IN: CÉLINE AUDREY SUNGLASSES

Image
Introducing somes 'gigs goodness. After initially deliberating, I'm a bit in love with my new purchase - the Céline Audrey Sunglasses. I've been fancying a pair for about a year and after a whole lot of Pinterest stalking of glamorous folk wearing them, I finally got myself a pair. I think they are quite popular, but the shape to me feels like such a classic that I'll get plenty of wear out of. They're the original, slightly larger size which I really like too.. I feel like I've been lacking on the sunglasses-to-hide-behind-on-minging-days front.  I actually got these after  Depop  kindly sent me a bit of spends. I guess purchasing second hand could be a bit dodgy (you do have to be careful with a lot of fake stuff floating around), but I looked into it a lot before I purchased them. You can find some really good bargains on Depop, especially when it comes to this sort of thing. I think as long as you don't rush into anything and properly check ev...
