PERSONAL SHOPPING AT TOPSHOP | PARTY OUTFIT IDEAS

Image
Party season is the moooost wonderful time of the year, so when Topshop invited me in to check out their personal shopping service I was more than excited. As much as I love getting dolled up, I find the whole process of outfit hunting stressful – I’m pretty particular, so it usually takes me forever! Not only that, but I got to try the personal shopper experience in Topshop at Meadowhall… I love anything that’s blogging related and local! It’s nice to know that the rest of the country hasn’t been forgotten about, and we can all have an extra special shopping treat. I’ve been to a couple of personal shopping events before, and the team at Topshop didn’t disappoint! I was greeted with some dream boat outfits that the lovely Kirby, my personal stylist, had picked out for me. She found me so many pieces that were just my sort of thing! That’s all part of the service - you just give them a call, let them know what you’re after, tell them your size and they’ll do all the faffy...

THREE LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS PARTY DRESSES

Image
Who isn’t a lover of a sparkly frock?! Okay, plenty of people, but even though I spend my life in all black, I’m still a fan of something glitzy. Christmas is a whole other ball game, and finding the perfect dress not only involves sourcing something occasion appropriate that suits you, but also something that feels a little festive. It’s not like red with a white fur trim is a must, but I do like something that makes me feel Christmassy… I can wear a bog standard LBD at any point in the year! For last minute options I’ve got three super sparkly numbers that can help you up the glam levels at the Christmas do. Motel Rocks Finn Slip Dress Okay, this is my most naaakud. It’s Christmas though, and if you can’t flash a bit of side boob at Christmas when can you?! Yup, you’re going to freeze your nips off, but you’re going to look like the twinkly star of Bethlehem on your night out. For dressing it down a little I think it’s perfect worn with a leather jacket and ankle boots....

ROYAL ASCOT WITH NEXT | LADIES DAY OUTFIT

Image
Heading to the races is probably one of my favourite things. Despite being more of casual dresser, I flipping love putting on a fancy frock for a girly day out. I’d never been to Ascot, so when Next asked if I’d like to head along with a few blogging ladies I was majorly up for it! I feel like Ascot is one of those schmancy days out that I’d have probably never got round to, so I’m extra happy that I’ve ticked it off the bucket list.  Outfit planning for this was pretty major. It took me a lot of uhhming & ahhing on the Next website , but eventually I decided on navy and dusky pink. I sort of felt like I should go for something summery, but this kind of look is way more ‘me’. It’s nothing out there, but it feels quite classic and feminine. Also… Can you believe the dress is only £38?! I’m so glad I went for it! It fit really well and I know it’s something I’ll wear again. The shoes and bag felt like a good contrast, while the hat was another bargain… £9 off ...

BLACK TROUSERS

Image
Crop Top - Primark, Trousers - Topshop (old), Heels - New Look Whenever I wear these trousers a big part of me does think they’re ridiculous. Lovely, but ridiculous. A drop crotch that low? Yup. It all feels a bit Bieber, but at the same time I think they’re quite smart looking. They’re a really old sale purchase, but I hold onto them because that part of me that thinks they’re faaaab can’t quite let go.  It took me a while to work out how I liked wearing them but I generally find they're best with heels.. More of an evening out thing. If not that low slung fitting does end up looking a tad crazy on my short legs. Even though they are  only black trousers, I do think they're quite 'statement-y', so for me I think a simple look works best. I wish I was the sort that could wear clashing prints and crazy pieces together but I'm just not, so there's no point forcing it.  I did actually come across these while having a massive wardrobe clear out....

CUT OUTS

Image
Top - Topshop, Trousers - Charity Shop, Heels - New Look My Ma actually picked me this little top up.. She’s a good ‘un! I love how she can always get my style but also do that mamma thing where they sort of sway you into dressing more how they’d like..  Lol. I know she likes to see me in a few lighter colours but I’m happy for someone to drag me out of my boring black! Plus this baby blue is really pretty for this time of year.  I’m just wearing it with those charity shop high waisted trousers that I’ve worn relentlessly over the years. I’ve definitely got my money’s worth to say they were probably about £3. Really I should get back into hunting down some charity shop bargains.. I feel like there was a bit of a craze for it at one point that’s died down somewhat now. Does anyone else still go?! Inspire me to get myself to the local Red Cross please! youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram...

SHOULDER FLASH

Image
Top - USC , Bag - La Moda , Jeans - Primark, Heels - New Look Seen as I've been doing my girly bit (the odd skirt, braving heels etc.), I've ended going back to black jeans today. Easily done right? It probably wasn't my best idea seen as it's still ridiculously humid, but everyone needs a  quick and easy outfit.. In fact for me the majority of the time it's a quick and easy outfit. I was just wearing this to pop out for some food the other night. It wasn't anything fancy, but I decided I needed heels so I didn't feel too casual. Heels always have that sassy effect I think.. They just make me feel a  little bit more confident seen as I'm blessed with short legs. Providing I don't hit the deck in them. The jeans are just those ones from Primark that I stuck some rips in - I was going to buy some ready done but it seems a bit daft when it literally takes two minutes. On the shoulder flashing top front I'm in  another newbie from USC...

NEW: HEELS & NARS CULT PRODUCTS

Image
Heels - New Look , NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Honey) & Illuminator (Orgasm) I've been trying to reign in the spending a bit recently.. I don't know when I got into this whole 'I'm in my twenties, I work hard, I can buy whatever the hell I like' notion but it needs to stop before I end up living on crisp sandwiches for the rest of eternity.  I did have reason to buy a couple of newbies though. I was heading on a night out and some of you may have also seen on Twitter/Instagram that I've just got a new job! All very exciting. I feel like I've been a bit absent from blogging recently with all this life stuff going off, but I'm hoping this new job will make blogging life a lot easier. I'll probably update you all on YouTube about goings on with me at some point.. It's not that exciting but there are a few new things I can mention! Anyway, new job = new heels & makeup required. I feel like it's justified. I'd been...

OOTN: BALLERINA VIBES

Image
Dress - Boohoo, Heels - New Look This is an actual OOTN. Yup, a real life, fully fledged outfit for an evening out. Lol. I've been so busy recently that the social life has hit an all time low.. It's nice to finally get back to having the odd occasion to wear something a bit more glam!  I did stick to the basics seen as I'm typically a more casual kind of girl. LBD & heels. It is quite ballerina like don't you think? For me that's down to the drop waist skirt and those strappy heels.. It all just feels extra feminine.  The heels are newbies..I lobbed all my 'uni heels' after realising I could no longer walk in them. Apparently I'm still no good at walking in anything this high, but we're working on it. I'll be feeling like a sassy pants until I deck it, Bambi on ice style. They're worth the risk. youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram x

BLUE JEANS, WHITE SHIRT

Image
T-Shirt - Primark, Jeans - c/o Miss Selfridge , Heels - c/o Dorothy Perkins , Bag - H&M The Lana Del Rey title just had to be thrown in there. I'm all super duper simple here. Generally, that's kind of the thing I've been going for. I've grown extra scared of colour over the winter and now I mostly feel  comfortable  in good basics. I'm  braving up to crazy summer prints, but right now I'm okay with the no fuss stuff.  I was just off for some food here - I'd been wearing the jeans during the day but went down the fail safe 'whack some heels on & hope for the best' route.. Mostly because I was being lazy and didn't want to have to get dolled up. The jeans are the ones from Miss Selfridge that I've been wearing religiously and the tee is just a really inexpensive one from Primark. I have loads of these stocked up in my wardrobe, they always come in handy when I've no idea what to wear.  youtube / bloglovi n...
