Sometimes, I find talking about my outfits tricky. The thing is, I like pretty basic styles. I’m also mostly monochrome, and generally go for simple fits. There are no crazy new prints, bright shades or out-there embellishments. I guess when I started blogging there was more of that, but I’ve grown up with this blog and over time I’ve worked out my style. I think it’s just sussing out what’s really ‘you’ – I don’t like anything that makes me stand out too much, I’m happy to be glam but also just as happy casual, and I love the classic wardrobe staples. After all these years of buying my own clothes it’s about time I worked out what I actually like!   I think the main thing for sussing out your style is giving yourself time. It took me years to finally look at my wardrobe and think this is ‘me’… Summing up yourself in a bunch of clothes is kind of difficult anyway. I'd been wanting to add a pinafore dress to my life for A/W, so when I this one in H&M I knew it'd be a worthy investment. To me, they're a real classic for the season... I probably feel like that because they're the sort of thing I wore way back in the 90s when my mum still picked my outfits! She loved a pinafore and patterned tights combo. This one feels like a grown up version with the V neck and mid thigh skimming length.  The other reason I love a pinafore dress is because they're faaab for layering. I know this will be my favourite choice for pairing with turtle necks (and we all know how I feel about a turtle neck!). For now, I've been baring my legs in this, but I think it'll still be cute with thick, opaque tights. I got this skirt a good couple of months ago now. It was one of those on a whim purchases that I wasn’t really sure if I’d ever get round to wearing. I’d seen a similar one on a girl who looked fabulously glamorous, so when I saw this version in the H&M sale for £15 I thought I’d give it a go. I completely love the silky style of it… I guess it’s cause it’s got some sort of gothic vibe to it. I’m definitely into that. Actually, I’m really looking forward to wearing this skirt in the winter. I do like it with this cute cropped shirt, but I think it’ll be extra lovely with a super oversized knit… Something that’s a real contrast to the silky fabric. I’m thinking in navy, just so I don’t look like I’m off to a Halloween party. I’ve already bought a couple of A/W jumpers, but I’ll still stick a navy knit on my wishlist! A couple of weeks ago I showed you some of my favourites from two new collections from Look Again – a dreamy range from Stacey Solomon and some classic looks by Laura Scott. With A/W quickly coming round, I’ve picked out a few collection favourites for refreshing my wardrobe – think chunky knits, timeless coats and sheer layers. Right up there with that Topshop floral tea dress, this is one of my favourite summer purchases. I picked it up a few weeks ago at ZARA – it was only £20 so definitely one to keep your eyes peeled for! It wasn’t a planned outfit choice, but I ended up wearing it for Tramlines, Sheffield’s answer to Glasto. I’d gone with the whole shorts & baggy shirt the day before so I was ready to get back to girly vibes… Although I did end up wearing it with ankle boots. Comforrrt for traipsing round town!    I love the little boxy shirt fit – it’s not one I normally go for, but it feels smart-ish. Well, as smart as butt skimming dresses can ever be, but I like that combo all the same. I usually opt for anything that’ll synch in my waist, but it was nice to wear something that meant I could eat as much mac and cheese as possible, without food baby worries. Liiiife. Sunglasses - Celine / Jumpsuit - Boohoo / Snadals - New Look I think this jumpsuit was probably one of my favourite things on holiday, mostly because it pretty much feels like I'm wearing nothing. It's such a relaxed fit in an extra light fabric, just what I'm after when it comes to warmer temperatures. I could live quite happily in this sort of thing... Gimme hippy vibes any day of the week. I've still got a few other holiday outfits to show you, but I think I'm going to just stick to the main ones - this year I really tried to enjoy things more, rather than seeing it as an opportunity to stock up on blog content. I also kept my suitcase (semi) minimal - I got so sick of hearing myself saying 'I'm not taking all that next year I've hardly worn any of it' that I actually practised what I was preaching. You know when you find something in your wardrobe that you’d completely forgot about, then proceed to wear it every other day for the next month? This little bralet has become that item. I loved it way back when I got it (we’re talking at least a year ago), but somewhere along the way it was consumed by an overflowing top drawer. I took these pictures before I went away, but it did end up coming on holiday with me too. It’s a good layering piece for pairing with girly options. Here I just went basic, with black jeans and that ZARA shirt I’ve always loved… And yup, I’m keeping it monochrome as ever. I love that little victorious moment when something super cheap turns out to be really nice. So often it’s the opposite, but with this Boohoo dress I wasn’t let down. It’s not like it’s mega fancy material, but it’s simple and a flattering fit. There’s just something nice about swooshing about in anything with a thigh split! Angelina Jolie I ain’t. The boots and sunglasses I’m wearing with this are the ones I’ve worn religiously over summer. I love me a good pointy boot, and I can’t cope without bug shaped gigs. My only holiday purchase was actually another pair of Céline sunglasses at duty free. It’s a brand that us Sheffield folk can only really get online, so I thought I might as well go for it.
