HOLIDAY EVENINGS | THE SLIP DRESS

Image
Dress - Primary / Bag - H&M / Sandals - New Look Day one of the holidays feels like a lonnnng time ago now... I’m still hoping I’ll fit another trip abroad in this year, but with lots of adult-y stuff going off it may have to wait ‘til the next. I so want to travel more. For the first evening I always just go for something comfortable. Chances are I’m a little bit pink and sleepy from traveling, so a relaxed fit is needed. I took a couple of these slip dresses away with me as they’re just right as looser options. Most of them I’ve picked up super cheap in Primark – if it’s just something simple like this I’m not bothered about it being mega fancy. I’m definitely struggling to beat the holiday blues flicking through snaps of that beach setting. Life by the sea is extra lovely.   SHOP THE LOOK JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. CASUAL DRESSING | WEEKEND MONOCHROME

Image
When it comes to casual dressing, for me it’s a three-point thing. Flats, extra comfy bottoms and a slouchy bag to lug about all my crap in. On days off, this is exactly the kind of thing I go for. Something I can slob about in without feeling like a total scruff... I tend to go for monochrome to smarten things up a little, I just think it feels more like a put together version of comfy casuals!  Comfy Bottoms Leggings as trousers isn’t something I regularly sport out of the house (in the house it’s a different story – I live my life in leggings) but when it comes to those CBA days they’re my first choice, as long as they’re suitably suck-y in-y. I usually pair them with something that covers up my ass – I’m not quite brave enough to go all out with the leggings & crop top combo. That tends to mean a slouchy top, but as I had my rucksack here I thought I could get away with it. It's all about the comfort, both in not feeling like I'm wearing restricti...

MATCHING GREY & THAT CAMEL COAT

Image
Sunglasses - Céline Coat - Primark, Jumper - Primark, Trousers - Primark, Trainers - adidas Superstar I say 'that' camel coat 'cause it's becoming quite the regular in blog posts. As much as I love buying clothes, it's admittedly a bit pointless seen as I mostly just wear around 10 favourite items on a rotate. Lol. Currently, this Primark number is my go to when I’m dashing about. To say it’s only a cheapo version it still does a good job at keeping me cosy! I’m still on a hunt for the grey version… It could be that it's in fact a mythical Primark beast, but I did hear that it exists. Without intention, this outfit is all Primark. I don’t even buy much from there anymore (I usually can’t face tackling the queues), but I still have some good basics lurking in my wardrobe. The little tutle neck jumpers I always find to be good value, and the trousers I grabbed in the sale last year. They’re really soft, perfect for the chillier days. My on...

CULOTTES & ANTIQUES TRIPS

Image
Hair - The Blow, Scarf - Boohoo, Jacket - c/o Oh My Love London, White Tee - Primark, Culottes - Primark, Boots - c/o Dorothy Perkins  To be honest, this outfit was 'mehhh'. Nothing too swish or majorly on trend, just comfort for a quick trip out round the antiquesy places. It was a couple of weeks back now (forever finding snaps lurking in iPhoto that I completely forgot about), just after I'd had my hair done at The Blow.. I'd managed to make the plaits last overnight and quickly shoved it in a ponytail. I've since tried replicating that big chunky braid and mine are just nowhere near as good.. Back to the YouTube tutorials to practise ha. Here I mostly wanted to get my culottes worn. I just cannot work out how to wear them while it's still cold.. Any ideas?! I'm not sure if tights will look totally ridiculous and I'm definitely too much of a wimp to brave them with bare legs. I'm hoping I can still wear them over spring/su...

COLLARS UP

Image
Shirt - c/o D aisy Street , Trousers - Primark, Slip Ons - Primark, Bag - c/o La Moda I think I might have left a toe or two being after almost ending up with frostbite while taking these pictures. It was actually a good few days since it had snowed and I completely underestimated how deep it would be up the top end of our garden. Nothing major, but definitely more than my slip on shoes could handle.. You can't see them, mostly because they're covered in bloody snow. I was planning some work outfits (makes life a million times easier when I'm rushing around at 6am with a pack of Belvita in hand) and ended up taking a few snaps while I was at it. Even though I did almost freeze a limb off I do like wintery looking pictures. I look back on them in the summer and wonder how the heck it was ever so cold! I've gone dead comfy here. I can't think of anything worse than being stuck at work in the trousers you have to jump about to get in or something too ...

SIMPLE IN LEVI'S

Image
Jumper - Primark, Bag - c/o La Moda , Coat - H&M, Jeans - Vintage Levi's, Boots - Forever 21 This is my  go-to kind of outfit. Simple, nothing too fancy and just generally basic. I like wardrobe essentials - cosy  jumpers, the favourite jeans you've worn out completely and the handbag that goes on every trip out. Yeah, I love dressing up too, but it's always nice to have those 'comfort blanket' items.  I was just off to town here (I think it was to spend another 20quid in Boots that really wasn't necessary..) hence being pretty casual. Plus, it was way too windy to go for anything other than practical. I want to start wearing my floppy fedora again but I just know the first time I do it will blow off and leave me awkwardly chasing after it. Anyhoo, I didn't bother with a hat and just ended up with that hair all over the place sitch. When is it summer again?! I've been asked quite a bit about these jeans. I think it'...

WAFFLE KNIT & CULOTTES

Image
Choker - c/o Boohoo , Jumper - c/o Boohoo , Belt - Primark, Culottes - Primark, Boots - Forever 21 Another quick one from me. My indoors pictures are always debatable, so I usually only get a few snaps. Or two, to be precise. I'll be playing with my new fancy schmancy lighting this weekend though, so we'll see how that works out. Hopefully it's going to revolutionise my world of taking blog pictures. Ha. We'll see. It does make filming a lot easier, the only thing is I'm not sure I like seeing my face so clear. In reality that bit of blur and lesser quality is a lot more forgiving.. Anyway, that's my millionth ramble about this lighting stuff. Today was just a simple day, something quite warm and comfortable for work (that belt gets looser throughout the day). I think I'm going to wear a similar version of this outfit with a Christmas jumper for something sickeningly festive. How quick is Christmas coming round by the way?! I'll definitely b...

GREY TROUSERS & TEMPORARY TATS

Image
Jumper - Boohoo , Temporary Tat - c/o Boohoo , Trousers - Primark, Flats - Primark Back in those Primark trousers. I do indeed love them. I've mostly been wearing them for work, mainly because they look alright with the flats for that kind of scenario.. For everyday I'm thinking I need to get some form of white shoe. Maybe trainers. I just think they look a bit too 'work' like with the flats for slobbing about round town. Anyway, that's something on my shopping list that I'm going to have to put on a back burner for a while. Christmas shopping is the current priority.  Nothing else is outside of my usual uniform (some sort of turtle neck, plenty of black), aside from the temporary tat. What do you think?! I'm sold. It's like going back to my younger days covered in ugly Power Rangers ones, but this time updated for my 23 year old self. I love the silver.. I only usually wear silver jewellery so this makes a nice alternative. I could definitel...

GREY SMART TROUSERS

Image
Vest - Primark, Necklace - Accessorize, Trousers - Topshop, Boots - Forever 21 I actually bought these for work. I then decided they were far too nice to be worn on days sat in the office. Plus, they go with my new grey A/W wardrobe thaaang I've got going on. I've decided grey is my latest favourite for this season. I'm a bit sick of black (I know, the horror), and even though I know I'll continue to wear black outfits forever, I do think it's time for a change in terms of my 'go-to shade'.  As a change I've bought a few grey A/W staples. These trousers, a few jumpers, a cardigan. I'll no doubt add more.. I can hear my bank balance shouting 'NO'.  I've been wearing these with big oversized jumpers since it's turned a bit nippy.. Midriff flashing is a thing of the past. I know I'll wear these loads this season though, fancy schmancy with a shirt or something on a night out or with lazy tees when I'm having a sl...
