FESTIVAL VIBES | SUMMER SHORTS

Image
Sunglasses - Céline / Body - Boohoo / Belt - Topshop / Shorts - Charity Shop / Bag - H&M / Boots - ZARA Seen as I’m off on holiday tomorrow, I thought it was about time we had an outfit that at least felt a little bit summery! I know it hasn’t been glorious weather, but humid temperatures have meant I’ve been quite happy to wear shorts… With this I just added a loose, long sleeved knit so I didn’t feel quite as nuddy wandering round TK Maxx. I love the shorts & bodysuit combo, but it is very festival-y for running errands in!  The shorts are an extra old pair of jeans I found in a charity shop and cut up. They’ve seen me through numerous summers and I think there’ll be more to come… Black denim is always a good option! I really like them with this extra nude body – they’re a nice contrast with the extra girly tone. Blogging wise, I’ve been giving myself some time off recently. It’s something I’ll probably talk about more ...

PREPPING FOR BARE LEG SEASON

Image
Really, my legs haven’t seen much love since September time. Post summer, I rejoice in being able to neglect things a little – I’m happy to enter another realm of pale as it gets to tights season! When the sun finally shows its face again, my legs are definitely in need of some TLC. Not only that, but it takes me a while to get my head around having more flesh on show… ‘You mean I can’t spend forever in a turtle neck and jeans?’. Yup, warmer temps means braving it.   For building up to bare leg season, I crack on with some emergency prep. Pamper Those Pins Time to lob the laddered tights and face what’s underneath. Yeeesh. To start, I make sure I exfoliate within an inch of my life. Any sort of sugar scrub should do the trick, but Let The Good Times Roll by Lush is my most-loved. I still tackle shaving, but over the last few months I’ve also been using my Philips LumeaHair Removal System – it’s not essential, but gosh life is easier fuzz free! It takes...

NAVY TWO PIECE

Image
Sunglasses - Ray Ban, Two Piece - c/o USC , Sandals - Office Officially feeling summery. Yeah, it hasn't been that sunny up in Sheffield, but it's warm and I can just about brave bare legs without feeling totally ridiculous. In miserable UK standards I'm thinking that's a good start. This little two piece is helping with the summer vibes.. It's such a cute number for the jols. I'll be popping it in my case for Greece - I'm thinking it'll be nice worn like this on day trips then popped over a bikini at the beach. I go in two weeks so I'm starting to plan a few outfits and get beyond excited. Bring on sunshine, chilling out and bronzing up.   youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram x

DENIM SHORTS

Image
Jumper - H&M, Shorts - Vintage Levi's, Converse - USC I'm done with all the tights, trousers and leggings (except when I'm having a Netflix and carbs day) I've spent the winter cooped up in. It's still that sort of in-between season where I've no idea what to wear, but on the slightly warmer days I've managed to brave shorts.. All be it with oversized knits and boots so I don't look too optimistic. The pair I've got on here are just some old slouchy Levi's.. They're probably way past battered but they're black basics that I can't quite part with. On the jumper front even I am pretty sick of seeing myself in this one. It's from H&M, I have it in various colours and I've pretty much worn each of them every week since November. They're those comfy essentials though that I could quite happily spend my life in. I was just pottering on my day off here, so that kind of thing is perfect for wrapping up in ...

GREY DAY

Image
Hat - c/o My Brother, Top - Primark, Coat - New Look, Shorts - Boohoo, Watch - c/o Shore Projects, Bracelet c/o Anna Lou of London, Boots - Forever 21 I think it's about time I got back in a beanie hat. I didn't really bother with them as much last year but I think I've decided I'm once again a lover for the chilly season. Really, who doesn't love something that can disguise horrible hair days?! Alongside beanies, recently I've also been a bit mad for everything grey. Hence a mostly grey outfit. I guess it's just an extension of my monochrome obsession.. Nothing too far out of my comfort zone. I just think it's a good basic colour for A/W - I know the new grey bits & bobs I've added to my life will get worn out over the next few months. The watch is the newest grey thing I've added to my life.. I avoided being a total bore-face and opted for this lighter strap, opposed to the black I was tempted by. I'm glad I went for this ...

FLORAL SHORTS & TASSELS

Image
Hat - H&M, Jacket - c/o Missguided , Top - Forever 21, Shorts - c/o Missguided , Boots - Forever 21 Well this is as summery as it's going to get now - oh how I'm going to miss not having to worry whether or not tights look okay with an outfit! I really take for granted being able to get my legs out over the sunny season.. I love spending my life rolling about in shorts & little dresses - definitely need to move to LA or somewhere suitably hot & fabulous. The shorts I'm wearing today are a pair I got at the start of the summer - they come with a matching top that makes a dreamy matchy-matchy combo. Today I've just worn them with a Missguided jacket I got a while back. It's my 'one day I shall take you to a festival' jacket. It's made for a weekend of music and sunshine, not my back garden. youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x

CROCHET & TASSLES

Image
Sunglasses - Skiathos Town, Jacket - Missguided , Crochet Top - Primark, Shorts - Levi's, Boots - Forever 21 Um, did I mention I'm a bit obsessed with this top? Even if I didn't mention it, I'm guessing you'll have worked it out after this is probably the third or fourth post with me wearing it. I'm just getting the most out of everything crochet until it gets a bit too nippy for all that holey stuff. Plus, this is my if I was at V outfit. Oh how I wish I was wearing this to some fabulous festival, not just for a wander around Sheffield. Did any of you go to V Fest?! If you did, I'm ridonkulously jealous. Anyhoo, I'm off as I'm writing this up with coffee in hand ready to crash. Now I'm a full-timeeey (feel so grown up it's depressing) I write posts up late at night as a little wind down from a day at work. She says, whilst drinking coffee to keep going a little longer. It makes sense somewhere along the way! youtube  /  bloglov...

LILAC GRAFEA RUCKSACK

Image
Rucksack - c/o Grafea , Top - Topshop, Shorts - Primark, Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza So say hello to my new favourite item in my wardrobe. I arrived home from holiday to this Grafea rucksack & it made returning to grey Sheffield much nicer. What do you think to it?! I'm obsessed. It's made beautifully , like it really looks like it's been crafted by the gods of leather goods construction. Who knew a rucksack could bring so much enthusiasm eh?! Seen as this bag is pretty darn special, I didn't go for anything fancy outfit wise. The garden was looking perfectly colour co-ordinated so I decided to go for an all white outfit (this was mainly a last attempt to flash my tan before it finally disappears..). Next time I'll probably wear it with some sort of floral print to maximise all that pastel girly-ness.  youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x

COW PRINT SHORTS

Image
Choker - eBay, Mesh Top - Boohoo, Shorts - c/o House of Trendella , Platform Sandals - c/o Pretty Little Thing Dare I say I'm actually smiling in this post?! Well, that's as much of a smile I'm ever going to be doing - I've got one of those permanently miserable looking faces even when I'm at my most chirpy. I'm going to put my cheerfulness down to all this sunshine.. isn't it bloody gorgeous?! I hope you're all getting a bit of summer sunshine. It's amazing what a nice, sunny day can do for your mood don't you think?! I'm back in that mesh top that I wear all too much. Its not exactly summery, but it has become a year round staple in my wardrobe. I've worn it layered under dresses in the winter, and I think I'll be packing it in my suitcase to wear over a bikini on my jollies (did I mention I was going on holiday?! I'm not sure I've talked about it enough.. ha).  I've gone very monochrome once again pairi...
