SILKY SKIRT

Image
I got this skirt a good couple of months ago now. It was one of those on a whim purchases that I wasn’t really sure if I’d ever get round to wearing. I’d seen a similar one on a girl who looked fabulously glamorous, so when I saw this version in the H&M sale for £15 I thought I’d give it a go. I completely love the silky style of it… I guess it’s cause it’s got some sort of gothic vibe to it. I’m definitely into that. Actually, I’m really looking forward to wearing this skirt in the winter. I do like it with this cute cropped shirt, but I think it’ll be extra lovely with a super oversized knit… Something that’s a real contrast to the silky fabric. I’m thinking in navy, just so I don’t look like I’m off to a Halloween party. I’ve already bought a couple of A/W jumpers, but I’ll still stick a navy knit on my wishlist! THE MINI SKIRT, MID WINTER

Image
Jumper - Topshop / Skirt - H&M / Boots - Forever 21 / Bag - Paul's Boutique I'm a lover of the mini skirt. They're not the sort of thing I wear often, but I like them when I'm after something girly - I can get into a clothing rut where I spend most of my life in basic black trousers. I always find that mini skirts are as much my favourites in summer as they are in winter. Actually, I probably go for them more in winter... In summer I've got to take on the whole task of braving baring my legs, whereas over the chilly months I can just wear some thick tights and feel like I'm covered up.  This one is a particularly short version, but I think I'm just about safe from flashing! It's a skirt I got in H&M a good year or so ago... I'm sure it'll have been on my blog before, but then I do still like it. The jumper is a newer addition, a Topshop one I picked up for LFW. I've worn it loads, as it's the perfect layering ...

THIGH HIGHS.. MINUS THE THIGH

Jacket - c/o Boohoo , Top - Primark, Skirt - ZARA, Boots - c/o Public Desire , Bag - Paul's Boutique I'm trying to get back into taking some outdoorsy pictures. As much as I love my white backgrounds, it does get a little boring, so I'm working on getting back into the swing of blogging outdoors. I know, great time to decide now it's heading into the chillier months. I'm definitely not as brave as I used to be.. Here I'm wearing that jacket I've worn way too much recently. If you follow me on Snapchat (username - fashioninflux) then you'll probably have seen it. I just love the colour for this time of year. It's only a really cheap one, but that's cool with me as I'm thinking this jacket is quite trend led? Anyway, this season I've already got my money's worth out of it. The boots I'm wearing are indeed thigh highs. I love them, but instead of wearing them to flash a bit of thigh I've mostly been wearing ...

MID LENGTH SKIRT

Image
Top - Forever 21, Skirt - ZARA, Boots - Forever 21 So I’m a bit overly in love with this skirt. I only really bought it to go with the off the shoulder top I blogged about, but it turns out 90% of my tops are crop tops and so I have plenty to go with it. I’ve been wearing it casual so far but I think I’ll go for something smarter with it next for work. It’s also really comfortable so I can manage a full day in it (ain’t no time for skinny jeans or anything like that.. How. Do. You. Breathe.). And so that’s a full blog post talking about a skirt, but it was relatively new & inexpensive. I think they do other colours, so I’m going to pop back and probably end up with a bit of a collection going on. youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram x

SHEARLING JACKET & HEELS

Image
Choker - eBay, Necklace c/o Elkin , Crop Top - Primark, Jacket - c/o Oh My Love London , Skirt - c/o Fenchurch , Heels - c/o Dorothy Perkins I'm totally going a bit gothy looking in preparation for Halloween.. with the spooky season coming around it just makes me want to slap on the black eyeliner and dark lippy. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can pull that off for a day at work. POOK. For the next couple of weekends, each day is an excuse for a nod to Halloween. Anyhoo, this outfit is glam for me. I'm wearing heels FGS. I don't even wear heels that much these days, I've never got anywhere schmancy to go, plus I can't walk in the bloody things. I did swap to boots when I headed out (I couldn't quite brave Starbucks in heels.. Bit much y'know). Even still, a pencil skirt makes me feel a bit dolled up. I wanted an outfit to go with a couple of new wardrobe additions. The jacket is my latest for staying cosy this winter - it's super ...

SEPTEMBER DAY OUT

Image
S unglasses - Magazine Freebie, Necklace - c/o Lola&Grace , Top - LNA Clothing, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Skirt - c/o Forever 21 , Boots - c/o Forever 21 I loved this day. A week or so ago, at some pretty place for hot chocolate treats & a wander round in late summer sunshine. Wowzers, I sound a bit like I'm writing a crappy novel.. Back to the clothesy stuff. Outfit wise it was all comfy and kind of lazy.. Nothing too matchy-matchy, tight, or swish looking. I'm big on comfort so I love everything that's made with super soft material & that's a bit oversized. The t-shirt is all those things, my favourite when I want something that's the clothing equivalent of a comfort blanket. Same goes for my jacket, it's on old faithful that in my eyes has aged as well as David Beckham. The leather's so soft after 5 years of wear! youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x

MINI SKIRT & SHEER SHIRT

Image
Shirt - c/o Daisy Street , Skirt - H&M, Boots - Forever 21 I've worn this shirt on here before here, but today I've got it tucked up a little bit.. making the most of wearing it like this before it's way too nippy. I'm not sure this outfit on a whole is very season appropriate, but I just wore it with my big H&M trench coat so it was a bit warmer. I'm thinking I've  probably got until mid-late September to continue getting my legs out so I'm going enjoy it while it lasts. I'd just had my hair done here - hence why it's looking a tad more sleek than usual. I copy what my hairdresser does (well, I try to..) and use the same products yet why does it never look the same when I do it?! Hairdressers have magic hands. Anyway, I guess I do have a bit of a proper 'ombre' do now.. a few people have tried to suggest to me that I'm no longer blonde & I'm like 'WHAT?!'. I'm a bit attached to being a blondie, but I...

NEW BIRKENSTOCKS

Image
Sunglasses - Company Mag Freebie, Top & Skirt - Fenchurch c/o Bank Fashion , Coat - H&M, Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza I feel like I should have dedicated a whole post to my shoes alone. Yep, I've jumped on the Birkenstock bandwagon and I'm oh so happy to have done so. I actually had a pair of these when I was younger (probably in some horrendous bright pink or something equally as 'Barbie' esq. They are indeed as comfy as I ever remembered them to be, the kind of slouchy everyday shoe that you want to hug your feet forever and always. Okay, I like to exaggerate, but they are definitely an outdoor version of the slipper. I know not everyone's a fan of the blogger's essential shoe for the summer, but I've already fallen for the hype. For the rest of today's outfit, I went for this mis-matched  fenchurch set. It's kind of sporty but the bodycon fit means I don't feel like a total boy. I'm going to admit that I didn't kno...
