WINTER WARDROBE ESSENTIALS

Image
The snow couldn't have arrived at a better time! I'd been meaning to do this post for a couple of weeks, so thanks Mother Nature for the lovely, wintery setting. Seen as we're now bearing the brunt of the chilly season, I wanted to share my favourite essentials for getting through the colder months with extremities intact. These bits are my essentials for wrapping up warm, without feeling like a total woolly mammoth. Beanie Hats Ok, so a woolly hat is kind of an obvious one, but the beanie hat is my particular favourite. For casual days at this time of year, I’m always sticking one on. They keep me cosy and also disguise a multitude of bad hair day problems. Turtlenecks Of course my favourite fit had to feature. I feel like I've spent the majority of winters as an adult in a turtleneck. I have a load of different colours in my wardrobe as they’re a great basic for wearing alone a...

COLLARS UP

Image
Shirt - c/o D aisy Street , Trousers - Primark, Slip Ons - Primark, Bag - c/o La Moda I think I might have left a toe or two being after almost ending up with frostbite while taking these pictures. It was actually a good few days since it had snowed and I completely underestimated how deep it would be up the top end of our garden. Nothing major, but definitely more than my slip on shoes could handle.. You can't see them, mostly because they're covered in bloody snow. I was planning some work outfits (makes life a million times easier when I'm rushing around at 6am with a pack of Belvita in hand) and ended up taking a few snaps while I was at it. Even though I did almost freeze a limb off I do like wintery looking pictures. I look back on them in the summer and wonder how the heck it was ever so cold! I've gone dead comfy here. I can't think of anything worse than being stuck at work in the trousers you have to jump about to get in or something too ...

ANOTHER SNOW DAY

Image
Scarf - Primark, Coat - c/o Boohoo , Jumper - H&M, Leggings - Primark.. via my mother's wardrobe, Wellies - Found in the pantry.. Hooray! A party of me really loves the snow, but then the other 90% of me knows what a bloody nightmare it can be! Oh how it would be lovely to be back at school wishing for a bit more snow so we could all go home and make snow angels.. These days it's more a case of 'if I set off to work will I get there without a Final Destination esq. disaster'. Ha. On the other hand, it does make pictures rather pretty.. I'm plagued with trying to find a nice white background and this is about as I'm going to get.  These pictures are actually on my official snow day - our little village was white over and work was a no go. A day in jim-jams it was. After sulks about travel chaos (I know, us Brits always overreact but there was no chance my little Fiesta would make it without ploughing through a wall), I did get my wellies o...

SNOW DAY

Image
Hat - c/o Amelia Jane London , Scarf - c/o Boohoo , Coat - c/o Boohoo , Dress - Primark, Boots - Oldies Up Sheffield way, we missed a white Christmas by one day! So close, but a nice way to stay festive. Thankfully I was still off work, which meant I could actually go out and enjoy it, without having to worry about the commute.  I didn't take any chances and wrapped up in plenty of layers. I'm liking this whole 'knee high boots & longer dresses thaang', so I thought that'd be the perfect way to keep cosy. I think it looks better with heeled boots, but there was no way I was risking that. Plus I'd have looked like a total fruit bat. Accessories wise I went for the extra snuggly ones. The scarf wraps round like a huge blanket and that hat is just my current favourite. Right, I'm off.. Mainly because I currently struggle to come on the internet without wanting to do some more sales shopping. Staaahhp Lydia!  youtube  /  bl...

maxi dress & faux fur collar

Image
Hat - c/o Once Upon A Time , Turtle Neck - H&M, Maxi - Zara, Belt - Primark, Boots - Dr. Martens Serena First of all I’m going to have to apologise for getting a bit carried away thinking I’m a snow queen. I don’t always realise the extent of my posing when I’m freezing my bits off in the garden. Instead I flick through the pictures once their all done thinking who the hell do I think I am. Ha. A combination of chilly weather, snow higher than my docs & bright sunlight results in my sulky-squinty face. Brilliant!  It was probably the fur collar that set me off. It’s very Cruella Deville isn’t it?! I saw a girl working in Topshop wearing it & she just looked a big fitty. I don’t usually treat myself to an extravagant piece like this. When I say extravagant, I mean more than my usual tenner limit. It is only a fur collar after all & I am a cheapskate. I thought this one was worth it though. It’s nicely made & has a pleather edge. It's ...

bargain pleather trousers & mint jumper

Image
Headband - Primark, Sunglasses - H&M, Jumper - H&M, Trousers - H&M, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens Today was a bad picture day. I wanted to show you all how nice these trousers are & I don’t really think I’m doing a very good job! I’ve been looking for a pair just like this for a while now & was so happy when I finally found some. Being a student, I find it hard to part with more than £20 on one thing. Is that just me being tight?! Luckily, H&M came up with the pleather trouser goods. They were marked up at £15 in the sale but I got them to the till & they were £7! How good is that?! I was a very happy bunny. I love sales that are actually really cheap. To me, if there isn’t stuff under a tenner then it isn’t a sale! Yep, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am a cheapskate. Ha. If you hadn’t already noticed, I’m a bit of a H&M addict at the mo. It’s rare that I were an outfit without a H&M item included. The jumper is another...
