NIGHT OUT HANDBAG ESSENTIALS

Image
Alongside the usual cash, phone & ID (praise the Lord if somebody wants to ID this grandma), my bag on evenings out is usually jam-packed. The fact that I can cut its contents down to a clutch bag’s worth is an achievement in itself. I’m not much of a party girl, but I’ve had a few evenings out in the diary recently that have meant I’ve perfected my ‘going out bag’. Basically this means I’ve sussed out what makeup products are essential for me not looking like a troll by 3am. So, with makeup I tend to go cheap. Nobody’s got time for losing that Chanel lipstick. Nada. Recently I’ve been using a lot of NYX products anyway, so that works out well! The liquid lipstick in Sandstorm is my favourite taupe-y nude and although it’s matte it doesn’t wear off in too much of a state. A shine fixing powder is something I always take out with me for tackling sticky clubs. This HD Finishing Powder is one I use daily as it gets rid of any oily areas and fuzzes out pores. I’ve gone ...

MY EVERYDAY LOOK WITH NARS AUDACIOUS

Image
This week I’ve been trialling the new NARS Audacious Mascara , adding it into my daily routine as a go-to for my lashes. You all know I’m a fan of lash extensions, but I still love the feeling of taking my own eyelashes from barely there to something way more fluttery, and at the end of the day I can scrub it all off and give my eyes a good rub! For my look here I’ve gone for really natural makeup (that’s usually all I have time for when I’m on the go), with some defined looking lashes. Here I’ve just used a couple of coats of the NARS Audacious Mascara, before I popped it in my bag for freshening up my makeup during the day. Verdict wise, the formula wears really well on me, and I can layer up slightly if I head out in the evening, without creating a big clumpy mess. I think it’s the brush though that really makes it. It’s packed with these hooks like bristles, which separate out my lashes really well. I love the look you end up with, lengthened lashes, yet still...

DETAILS: EVENINGS OUT

Image
Bag - c/o Florian London , YSL Lipstick (the colour has rubbed off.. it's an oldie!), L'Oréal Nail Varnish (Beige Boheme), L'Oréal Super Liner I always think it's nice when you're off out to have a few fancy accessories. I don't go 'out out' that often so when I do I like the full dressing up process. Bit of fake tan, a new lippy, shoes that make you feel a bit sassy, y'know? These days I'm also trying to get my nails done more often. For the amount of money I spend on nail varnish that chips off or a wonder treatment that doesn't actually work I might as well just go get them done all nice. I've had these on a couple of weeks now so they have grown out a bit.. I've just repainted them with the Beige Boheme to freshen them up too. I love a good nude nail. With makeup I usually brave a bit of eyeliner when I'm going out. It's just too much for me to handle on a day to day basis.. How do people do it in a rush?! It t...

WHAT'S IN MY BAG

Image
Bag - c/o Missguided , Nail File - Leighton Denny , Gum, Samsung NX Mini Camera , Purse, iPod , Maybelline Lipstick, Swarovski Pen , The Wet Brush  (if you love Tangle Teezers you'll love these!), Sally Hansen Hard As Nails, Herve Leger Perfume, Pencil Case Answer? A whole load of rubbish. Essential rubbish though. Yeah it'd be nice if my handbag was full of a few more fancy things, but really what I need is an endless supply of chewing gum and bog standard hair bobbles for wayward hair. I'm definitely the Mary Poppins sort when it comes to handbags.. Dashing out the door with just my bank card and car keys just isn't my kind of thing. I need a safety blanket of stuff. Alongside numerous screwed up receipts, crumbs and empty packets of crisps. Glaaaamorous. Lol.  My main essentials (other than the tradition purse, phone etc.) are nail stuff, my camera and my iPod. Nails wise I just can't deal with getting an annoying snag that desperately needs fili...

LILAC GRAFEA RUCKSACK

Image
Rucksack - c/o Grafea , Top - Topshop, Shorts - Primark, Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza So say hello to my new favourite item in my wardrobe. I arrived home from holiday to this Grafea rucksack & it made returning to grey Sheffield much nicer. What do you think to it?! I'm obsessed. It's made beautifully , like it really looks like it's been crafted by the gods of leather goods construction. Who knew a rucksack could bring so much enthusiasm eh?! Seen as this bag is pretty darn special, I didn't go for anything fancy outfit wise. The garden was looking perfectly colour co-ordinated so I decided to go for an all white outfit (this was mainly a last attempt to flash my tan before it finally disappears..). Next time I'll probably wear it with some sort of floral print to maximise all that pastel girly-ness.  youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x

WHAT'S IN MY TRAVEL BAG

Image
Sarong - eBay, Bag - Zara, Ipad, Hand Cream - Crabtree & Evelyn, Hair Clip - Primark, Nail File - Leighton Denny, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, Tangle Teezer, Purse - Topshop, Samsung Galaxy S3 Since I've gone on about my holiday more than a bit (I'm going in 4 days - yep, counting down the minutes from now on), I thought I'd post a peek into my travel bag. I've completely flaunted the hand baggage allowance and bought the biggest bag possible, intent in filling it with all my crap. I found this black number in the Zara sale for £20 and thought it would be just right for fitting in all my essentials. Now, I will be honest.. this is a much prettier version on what will actually be in my travel bag. However, when I look at other people's 'What's in My Bag' posts, do I wanna see hand sanitiser and enough tampons to last through an apocalypse. Nope, not really. We all know our bags are full of all that kind of thing but there's no way of mak...
