5 RECENT BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Image
It's been a good while since I had chance to do a beauty update. I don't change things up that often, but since my last favourites post I've found a few products that have become a part of my everyday routine. I think it's because I've been trying to mix my brands up a little - normally I just go for the same old stuff from the same old companies! NYX coming to the UK has made my bank account suffer, and I've also been stocking up on a few American beauty newbies via Beauty Bay. Even in the most rushed mornings (I've perfected a messy makeup routine to 5 minutes...) I end up using all these products.  Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray Me and setting sprays are a bit iffy. Sometimes I just don't find they 'do' that much. I was even a little dissapointed with the Urban Decay one. The thing is, I've got oil slick skin. In a few hours I can look like I've got no base makeup on, so really any product like this is fighting ...

LOOK AGAIN A/W COLLECTION PICKS

Image
2 in 1 Top /  ‘Marlene’ Trousers /  Pouch Bag  Following super summery styles, I’m all ready to update my wardrobe with some new pieces! Look Again have just launched two new collections, so it’s perfect timing for picking out some faves. With a new range from Laura Scott and another from Stacey Solomon , I’m sharing my picks for AW16. First up, some newbies from Laura Scott’s latest range, with Vogue Williams the new face of the collection. Made up of wearable pieces that embody timeless classics, I’m really into these simple, monochrome styles. Any of these pieces would slot in good with my wardrobe basics and are definitely the sort of thing I’d wear day to day! A favourite has to be the 2 in 1 Top, something I’d wear dressed down with the tassel tote bag. Larrrvely. The trousers are also on my wish list – just right for dressing up on an evening out, or going casual with white trainers. Sparkle Trousers /  Sparkle Turtle Neck /  Em...

2016 BEAUTY FAVOURITES SO FAR

Image
It’s June and I can’t even. As we’re six-months into 2016, I thought it’d be a good time to talk favourites. I generally go through months where I’ve got a whole load of new products I live for, then others where I stick to the same old crap – hence the six-month update. Beauty wise this is just a small bundle (some of which you may have already heard me going on about…), but they’re the ones that have made it as favourites of favourites.  Lush Big Shampoo I try so many shampoos and end up disappointed. This has been the first in a long time that I’ve actually been impressed with. I’m now on my second tub… I get through it way too quick as I love how it feels to lather up! If you’ve got hair that’s prone to looking greasy and lank like moi (joy of joyyyys) then this is a babe. It feels like your hair has had a proper scrub and the smell is extra fresh. It’s now one of my wouldn’t be without products.  Lush Let The Good Times Roll This one I’ve definitely gone on abou...

FIVE NEW FAVOURITES

Image
I wasn't planning on uploading a video today, but somehow I managed to edit quicker than my usual snail's pace. Today think haul/favourites - I had a couple of bits that were new in, but also items I've been using/wearing none stop since I purchased them. I much prefer doing shorter videos where I can just show you a few bits, rather than big collective ones where I end up going off talking about what my cat's having for tea. Now that's when it can take me 6 hours to edit. Ha. This weekend has whizzed by, so I'm off now to make the most of what's left of it. I'm being a boring Bertha - putting on my PJs, sticking a candle on and watching the next episode of Thirteen. Have any of you been watching it?! I binged on the first three episodes and I'm hooked.  As ever, all product details and links are in the video below :)  youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  facebook  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagr...

MY FAVOURITE BROWN/GREY TONED LIPSTICKS

Image
I guess it’s that whole 90s vibe that’s made me a real fan of brown & grey toned lipsticks. They’re the typical shades that I always gravitate towards when shopping for makeup – I’ve ended up purchasing far too many similar ones as a result. There’s no such thing as too many lipsticks though, right?! When it comes down to favourites, these are the ones I really love… From lighter, grayish/brown options to the all out dark, matte lipstick. L'Oreal Color Riche Oud Obsession Oud Obsession is the darkest I’ve included, as as much as I love brown lips, I don’t know how I feel about looking like I’ve got chocolate round my smush (I’m way too messy, so I’d probably end up smearing it about my face). This one has more of a burnt orange shade to it isn’t quite as cool toned as some as the others. For an evening out, I’m big on wearing this with a softer smokey eye.     MAC Viva Glam II If you like ...

JANUARY FAVOURITES

Image
As happy as I am to see the back of January (post Christmas blues & all that), it is a month where I enjoy working my way through newly acquired products. From some lovely bits I had for Christmas, to others I treated myself to when I wasn't quite so skint from the festivities, I've had the month to gather things together for a favourites video. Makeup wise I've found a couple of products that have gone straight to the top of my 'love list'. Most of what I've included here are items I've picked up based on reviews - it's always nice when beauty products live up to expectations! This is quite a chatty one, but sometimes it's nice to feel like you're having a bit of a natter! I love doing the short and sweet videos but when it's one where I'm talking I can end up with 30 minutes of video - although chances are 70% of it is me talking rubbish or where the camera is out of focus. Oh the joys of filming! Anyhoo, all product links a...

MAINTAINING SILVER TONED HAIR

Image
I’m a real lover of ash toned, silvery blonde hair, and as a result I’m forever on the quest for the perfect routine for combating those brassy tones. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I live for the honey blonde, and leave my hair to go a little warmer… But then I’ll wake up one morning and realise I’ve got a Barbie style barnet that really needs toning down. Even though my hair isn’t an all over silver, it does have a lot of those ashy tones in it, especially on the lengths. I get asked quite a bit how I get my hair this colour, and a lot of it has come through trialling and testing products for cancelling out any brassiness. These are the ones I’ve really come to love for maintaining that silvery blonde.  Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo I find on my hair this one has more subtle results – I can use this one every other day without ending up too ‘bluuuuedabadeee’. I reckon if you’re ...
