FESTIVE FEELINGS

Image
Scarf - Boohoo , Crop Top - ASOS, Skirt - c/o Nobody's Child , Boots - c/o Public Desire Just a quick outfit post from me today, mainly because I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas! This is just my Christmas Eve outfit... For once, I'm blogging about what I wore on the day I wore it. I was supposed to be working today, but our lovely bosses let us have the day off. Instead, I've had the chance to tag along for all things festive with the family. I've had such a lovely lead up to the holidays this year, so I hope you're all feeling as Christmassy as I am... Some years I can feel like a bit of a Scrooge, but this time round I'm feeling like Buddy the Elf. SANTA IS COMING.  On the outfit front, I did originally go for something way more festive... If you follow me on Snapchat (username - fashioninflux) you'll have seen my cream co-ord that felt a little bit Mrs Claus. Unfortunately, torrential downpours made me wimp out of...

CULOTTES & ANTIQUES TRIPS

Image
Hair - The Blow, Scarf - Boohoo, Jacket - c/o Oh My Love London, White Tee - Primark, Culottes - Primark, Boots - c/o Dorothy Perkins  To be honest, this outfit was 'mehhh'. Nothing too swish or majorly on trend, just comfort for a quick trip out round the antiquesy places. It was a couple of weeks back now (forever finding snaps lurking in iPhoto that I completely forgot about), just after I'd had my hair done at The Blow.. I'd managed to make the plaits last overnight and quickly shoved it in a ponytail. I've since tried replicating that big chunky braid and mine are just nowhere near as good.. Back to the YouTube tutorials to practise ha. Here I mostly wanted to get my culottes worn. I just cannot work out how to wear them while it's still cold.. Any ideas?! I'm not sure if tights will look totally ridiculous and I'm definitely too much of a wimp to brave them with bare legs. I'm hoping I can still wear them over spring/su...

TARTAN SCARF

Image
Hat - H&M, Crop Top - Primark, Scarf - Boohoo , Jeans - Missguided , Boots - Forever 21 Some of you might have seen me post about this outfit on Instagram.. it was a little thing I did for Company mad. It was the last ever print edition, something I’m gutted about - it’s been one of my favourite magazines for years! I’ve been reading Company since my teens and it was the one I always went for at the newsagents. It had all my kind of fashion in it and you got a fair amount of change from a fiver. Ha. That’s me being tight as usual. The mag is going to carry on online, but for me it’s not quite the same.. I like the idea of reading books on a Kindle but I don’t think I’ll ever stop buying the physical copies.  Outfit wise I’m ready for Autumn. Bring on cold weather now. I’m bored of the in-between season, I want read hot summer or chilly winter. Deciding what to wear is so much easier when it’s one or the other! As a result I’ve been wearing this scarf since mid...

TARTAN & DENIM

Image
Necklace - Accessorize, Scarf - c/o Boohoo , Top - Forever 21, Jeans - Topshop, Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza August isn't even over yet & I'm back in my cosiest of cosy scarves - this tartan piece from Boohoo. I got it last winter and wore it to death. It's essentially a blanket, so huge and lovely for snuggling up in. I know winter isn't quite with us yet, but it's nice to have something to sling round your shoulders if it does get a little nippy.  The white jeans are the ones I got from Topshop at the start of the summer. I actually haven't worn them as much as I'd have liked to - I guess I am a bit nervy about being 'out there' in them, y'know? They aren't exactly the thing to go for when hiding lumpy-bumpy bits. I'm hoping I'll wear them over winter - I know, white doesn't exactly scream winter fashion - but I think with a big slouchy jumper I'll feel brave enough to wear them more.  youtube  /  bloglovi...

BABY BLUE & BABY PINK TARTAN

Image
Top - Select, Skirt - New Look (Teen Range), Boots - Boohoo I've been wearing this skirt far too much. Can New Look just come up with a yellow version so my Cher from Clueless Halloween outfit is sorted?! Today was supposed to just be a casual day, but I ended up having one of those 'I need to be glam' moments, which resulted in me putting on more make up than I usually would go for. I love using my days off to have a little dress up, even if I'm only off to my Nanna's. My outfit is still quite girly, so I don't think slapping on a bit of extra eyeliner is a total flop. Bit of a life update - I've just finished another three months interning for a PR agency (onto the scary job hunt now), so if I've been a bit 'AWOL' over that time then that's why. I'm quite proud that I've managed to keep blogging despite working 6 days a week a lot of the time (oh the joys of post-studentdom!).. but I'm looking forward to having...

TARTAN SKIRT & TOPSHOP SHIRT

Image
Top - Topshop, Coat - H&M, Skirt - H&M, Boots - Topshop I quite like what I'm wearing today.. despite the fact that I really needed to iron that skirt. My Nanna wouldn't be impressed. Let's just pretend it's all neat and pressed.  The reason I like my outfit is mainly because it's kind of a blend of the two styles I like the most. The '90s Clueless' sort of look I seem to gravitate towards, then something more grown up and smart (that's where the black comes in). I constantly find that I can't decide if I want to spend my life looking girly in pastels, or sophisticated and chic in smart black trousers and heels. This is starting to sound like a First World problems speech, but do you get what I mean?! Today I feel like I've got the mix for both right. A bit of tartan and my favourite choker for the 90s side of things, then the top and slouchy coat to make me feel all swishy. And yes, I've decided that swishy is definit...

OUTFIT LAYOUTS #1

Image
I've done quite a few outfit layout posts on my blog before, but I'm thinking for the new year I'll try to make them more regular. To be honest, it's just nice to take my face out of the equation! There's only so long I can cope with looking at myself doing the same silly poses. Outfit One Top - Urban Outfitters, Skirt - H&M, Choker - eBay, Boots - c/o La Moda I bought this skirt at the weekend, so you should still be able to find it in H&M. It was only £15, but I know it's one that I'll wear a lot. It's a bit of an update on the classic black body con that's always a necessity in my wardrobe. Being a advocate of the 'when in doubt, wear black' phrase, I naturally went for an outfit with zero colour. In my defence, I did later add my new pink coat (cannot wait to show you that little pastel dream!). Outfit Two Top - George @ Asda, Dress - c/o In Love With Fashion , Boots - Boohoo It's still tartan se...

TARTAN SKATER DRESS & FAUX FUR

Image
Hat - H&M, White Top - Primark, Dress - A Shop in Leeds (it's so old sorry!), Belt - Primark, Rings & Bracelets - Pandora, Boots - Boohoo Now, this outfit makes me feel festive. Tartan & faux fur are both always going to be an A/W staple I think. Faux fur is warm and tartan just makes me think of Christmas so I doubt I'll ever tire of either. I was planning a Christmas day outfit a few weeks ago (no.. my garden hasn't suddenly had a new lease of life!), and knew that the tartan dress would have to make an appearance. My mamma usually buys me something to wear on Crimble day (is this tradition for anyone else?!), so if that happens this year then I'll be wearing the outfit above for present delivery trips. Eeek is anyone else feeling like a big kid about it being 5 days to Christmas?! Accessories wise I'm wearing the old faithful ones that I've had for years & worn repeatedly. We've all seen that belt once or twice haven't...
