NEW BLUE | ASOS FARLEIGH JEANS

Image
Jumper - ZARA / Jeans - ASOS / Bag - H&M / Boots - ZARA  Uhhhuh. Bought another pair of jeans. I don't wear blue denim that often (generally because blue isn't black... lol), but I just wanted some basics to wear on casual days. Lighter denim always feels like a relaxed option, and while I like dressing smart-ish, it's nice to have something laid back for those jeans and a tee days. Or in my case, the love of my life that is the turtle neck. The ASOS Farleigh Jeans are a fit that I'm a big fan of right now. That frilled pair are also Farleighs, and I find they work really well for my body type... If you've got a big bum and a waist then these are winners! When it comes to denim I need something that my hips won't be busting out of, while staying fitted to my waist. Praise the Lord when brands can find a fit that works for curvy shapes! The denim doesn't sag on me either - they're sturdy enough to hold everything in without feel...

FRAYED DENIM

Image
I started out my blog as a hater of jeans. We’re now reaching two posts in a row with denim features. How times have changed. These days I’m a jeans lover – I actually ordered two pairs from ASOS this week, with this pair a being a new treat from River Island. I was so chuffed to see this style in the parcel… I’d been after some cute crops for weeks! They’re also extra soft -   I was sure I wouldn’t be able to fit into my regular size, but these fit really comfortably. There’s nothing like not being able to fit into a pair of jeans to put a whopping downer on your day! With today being the 1st of September I’m also starting to think about digging out my turtlenecks. Me and the high neck are always going to be A/W best buds. This little knit is the first I’ll be wearing as we head into the in-between season – it’s not that heavy to cause me to melt. The only thing is it has shrunk a little… I have seen this one in the Topshop sale, so maybe I sh...

SPRING LAYERING

Image
I think I’ve been wearing this knitted high neck way more than is acceptable for what’s the end of May. Having said that, it’s one of my favourite little layering piece. I love it for getting wear out of summery items that it’s not quite warm enough for. A knit like this is something I wear plenty right through from those colder months up until it’s properly (if ever!) warm. Here I’m just wearing it under this casual playsuit, one I had for last year’s holiday. This will probably make it along for this year’s jols too – it’s just what you need when you’ve overdone it tanning up. Ouchy. I think it is designed with the beach in mind, but I like it smartened up a bit with the knit. I’m definitely more of a legs out person than someone that can bear the upper arm chill – give me shorts and a thick jumper any day!   Sunglasses - CĂ©line / Jumper - Topshop / Bag - H&M / Playsuit - Forever 21 / Boots - ZARA SHOP THE LOOK youtube ...

THE MINI SKIRT, MID WINTER

Image
Jumper - Topshop / Skirt - H&M / Boots - Forever 21 / Bag - Paul's Boutique I'm a lover of the mini skirt. They're not the sort of thing I wear often, but I like them when I'm after something girly - I can get into a clothing rut where I spend most of my life in basic black trousers. I always find that mini skirts are as much my favourites in summer as they are in winter. Actually, I probably go for them more in winter... In summer I've got to take on the whole task of braving baring my legs, whereas over the chilly months I can just wear some thick tights and feel like I'm covered up.  This one is a particularly short version, but I think I'm just about safe from flashing! It's a skirt I got in H&M a good year or so ago... I'm sure it'll have been on my blog before, but then I do still like it. The jumper is a newer addition, a Topshop one I picked up for LFW. I've worn it loads, as it's the perfect layering ...

PAPER BAG WAIST TROUSERS

Image
Top - Miss Selfridge , Trousers - Forever 21 , Sandals - Birkenstocks These trousers are actually holiday trousers, so probably heading a bit out of season. I loved them in Greece - just right for the evening when I wanted to get a bit dressed up without wearing something that would irritate my sunburn. Soft, loose fabrics along with a big dose of after sun is the way to go. I really love these trousers, so I've been making the most of wearing them back home, until A/W sets in anyway. I just think that paper bag style waist is quite flattering.. Relaxed but giving you a bit more shape. When I wore them out shopping a couple of weeks ago two people actually said they liked them, which is always nice. Not bad for a cheap Forever 21 purchase! youtube / bloglovin / twitter / facebook / pinterest / tumblr / instagram x

CHECKS & ACCESSORIES

Image
Turtle Neck - ZARA, Waistcoat - c/o Boohoo ,  Trousers - c/o Loving Youth , Bag - Topshop, Boots - Forever 21 These trousers are back. I'd kind of forgot about them, but after lugging them out the bottom of my wardrobe (sorry lovely Burberry esq. trousers, I have mistreated you), I was straight back in them. To be honest, I probably wore this outfit last year, perhaps with slightly different accessories. Even though they're quite bold, I think they've got a bit of longevity when it comes to trends.. What with the Clueless vibes still doing the rounds.  On the accessories front I've just gone for my Topshop suede bag (as a lover of everything black I've managed to find plenty to go with it) and a few simple silver rings for my sausage fingers. Oh how it must be lovely to have long, elegant piano fingers but alas, it was not meant to be. On a related note I've also got semi-neat nails. After having my nails properly diiid over Crimble I...

THE FLUFFIEST SCARF

Image
Scarf - c/o Boohoo , Turtle Neck - Zara, Coat - H&M, Skirt - c/o Fenchurch, Boots - Forever 21 When I wear some sort of fancy-schmancy accessory like this I always end up wearing black. I wish I was one of those people who could rock this hole clashing, mixture of prints and styles sort of thing, but I'm just not. I look like a total uncomfortable loon in anything like that. So black it is.  I guess it shows off that scarf anyway. I'm having a 'it's so fluffy I'm gonna diiiie' moment. All that fluff does make you feel pretty glamorous. I think I want to save it for wandering round Christmas markets feeling all festive. How is there less than two weeks to go?! Crazy. youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x

GREY TROUSERS & TEMPORARY TATS

Image
Jumper - Boohoo , Temporary Tat - c/o Boohoo , Trousers - Primark, Flats - Primark Back in those Primark trousers. I do indeed love them. I've mostly been wearing them for work, mainly because they look alright with the flats for that kind of scenario.. For everyday I'm thinking I need to get some form of white shoe. Maybe trainers. I just think they look a bit too 'work' like with the flats for slobbing about round town. Anyway, that's something on my shopping list that I'm going to have to put on a back burner for a while. Christmas shopping is the current priority.  Nothing else is outside of my usual uniform (some sort of turtle neck, plenty of black), aside from the temporary tat. What do you think?! I'm sold. It's like going back to my younger days covered in ugly Power Rangers ones, but this time updated for my 23 year old self. I love the silver.. I only usually wear silver jewellery so this makes a nice alternative. I could definitel...

GREY OVERSIZED JUMPER

Image
Hat - H&M, Jumper - c/o Warehouse , Trousers - H&M, Boots - c/o Deichmann , Black Bracelet - c/o Swarovski Jumper obsessed. This is one of those things that I could wear every day. It's just everything I like rolled into one. A big roll neck, slouchy and super comfy, plus it's grey.. My favourite colour right now. So far I've been wearing this knit religiously with skinny jeans and black trousers.. Quickly becoming my uniform. The rest of my outfit is pretty much my usual sort of thing.. I'm wearing plenty of favourites I know you'll probably recognise (possibly my third winter with these pleather trousers?!). Excluding the bracelet. It's a newbie from Swarovski. Have you seen them in store? They come in all these gorgeous jewel colours.. I'm already lusting after a couple more for stacking purposes.  youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x
