INVESTMENT PIECES FOR AUTUMN/WINTER

Image
Leather Gloves  /  Faux Fur Collar  /  Leather Jacket  /  Wool Overcoat  /  Wool Scarf  /  Black Boots  /  Tan Cardigan  /  Chunky Knit  /  Embellished LBD Although I am the sort that needs a lie down after buying more than one thing in Topshop, I do feel more swayed into quality over quantity these days. Rather than too many cheap, trend led pieces that I won't get much wear out of,  I'd rather have a few classics that I know will last me a good few seasons. I think autumn is definitely a good time to invest in that sort of thing. An extra soft knit, a LBD to see you through a range of festive shindigs, boots that go with every freaking outfit. They're my sort of investment pieces... I tick off the winter essentials for turning up the cosy factor (the big wool coat and gloves, that sort of thing), before going for a few statement styles to livening up my look over A/W (the leather b...

SALES ROUND UP: LUST LIST

Image
Cashmere Scarf - Aspinal of London , Mirror Ball Phone Case - Marc Jacobs , Nude Ankle Boots - ASOS , Turtle Neck Jumper - Whistles , Black Wedges - LK Bennet , Belt - Aspinal of London , Lipstick - 'Barbara' NARS (not in the sales, but had my first NARS lippy for Christmas and it's love), Silver Pumps - Whistles , Samsung NX3000 Camera - John Lewis I'm calling this a lust list, mainly because although these items are from the sales, they're still on my 'I want but cannot afford list'. Or maybe the 'cannot justify list'.. Do I need another three pairs of shoes? Definitely not. These are all the schmancy bits I'm now lusting after in the sales. As I've got older I've become less bothered about grabbing a top for less than a fiver, and more obsessed with treating myself to some techy gadget or something a little extravagant. Not good for my bank balance, but I think in the long run I get more out of it. This year I'm fancying a ...

Silk Mini Skirt - Topshop (£55) Now, this post is in no way a realistic representation of my birthday lust list. I definitely won’t be expecting my ma to go out & spend mega bucks on me, nor would I want her to.. but it’s always nice to have a ‘dream’ list don’t you think? You know, the sort of birthday presents you’d buy yourself if money was no object. Most of the things on my lust list are the things I’m currently trying to ...

long shirt jacket & pleather shorts

Image
Shirt Jacket - c/o Missguided , Crop Top - Urban Outfitters, Shorts - Boohoo, Fishnet Cycle Shorts - DIY, Boots - Topshop Unitentionally, there is way too much belly going on here. Why is it that crop tops are never the right sort of 'crop' to fit with high waisted stuff?! I always end up pulling my bottoms up or my top down. Anyway, just ignore the tum'. I arrived home from my hols to the nicest package from Missguided. Fran their lovely PR girl only spotted this long shirt in my recent wishlist & popped it in the post for me. What a babe right?! I do think that Missguided are on top of their game with their work with bloggers.. they treat us good don't they?! It's always something with a bit of thought gone in to it & I'm a sucker for anything like that.  I was just going to wear this with the shorts & crop top, but I decided to add the fishnet cycle shorts just to feel slightly more 'covered up'. That sounds silly when ...

holiday wardrobe sneak peek

Image
White Sandals - c/o Deichmann (£19.99), T-Shirt - H&M (£7.99), Bracelets - H&M, Clear Clutch - New Look (£9.99), Cut Out Boots - Topshop (£38.00) I went and got the last few bits to add to my case this weekend. Unfortunately, I managed to lose a Boots carrier with some stuff in. SO cross with myself, I'd bought my 'holiday nail varnish' and everything!  Anyway, what did make it home with me is all in this post. As per, I've ended up buying extras that weren't on my list. The black boots were my treat for recently getting a part time jobby to see me though internships (hello Motlon Brown sales assistant.. Ha ;)). I also decided I needed a pair of lightweight boots to take with me on my jollies as I just can't be parted with boots for a week. I'm currently hoping I can wear them in enough to be completely comfy for stomping round the streets of NY. The other pair of shoes are to wear with white outfits. There's a bit ...

1.  Motel Henna Hand Print Crop Top (£18) , 2. Essie Picket Fence (£7.82) , 3.  Motel Silver Bag (£30) , 4.  Motel Palm Leaf Print Tube Skirt (£22) , 5. Motel Moustache Bag (£30) , 6. Topshop Cut Out Boots (£38) , 7. ASOS Ipad Case (£15) , 8. Missguided Sweatpants (£23.99) , 9. Topshop Mesh Make Up Bag (£8) ,  10. ASOS Platforms (£45) , 11. Jelly Shoes (£9.99) , 12. Motel Fur Bag (£35) , 13. Essie Mint Candy Apple (£7.99) , 14. Missguided Shirt Cape (£29.99) I will say that this post isn’t sponsored by Missguided & Motel.. Ha! They were the first two sites I went on while I was looking for my ‘dream’ holiday wardrobe and basically, I wanted everything. BOO. They’re definitely filling the gap that Nasty Gal has left on the UK market.  We can all dream right?! This time next week, I’ll be in New York. ARGH. I know, I’m sure you’re all thinking ‘Lydia will you please shut the hell up about this holiday’ but it is such a big deal for me ...

lust list: co-ordinates

1. Rihanna for River Island Shirt (£45), Crop Top (£25) & Shorts (£25), 2. Rihanna for River Island Tie Dye  Top  (£20) &  Shorts  (£35), 3. Miso Harlequin  Two Piece  (£10) &  Leggings  (£7), 4. Boohoo Lime Sequinned  Top  (£20) &  Skirt  (£25), 5. Boohoo Mesh Cut Out  Top  (£12) &  Skirt  (£12), 6. H&M Cross  Skirt  (£12.99) &  Trousers  (£14.99), 7. Rihanna for River Island Crochet Top (£35) & Skirt (£45) Co-ordinates are the things I'm lusting after way too much right now. Clothing websites adding a 'Co-ords' section just isn't helping! This trend is probably my favourite in a long time.. so much so that I spent the day looking for the perfect matching set to wear to an interview. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything that fit my teeny budget, but had I had pennies to spend I would have been treating myself. BOO, I hate being skint! I ...

Now I know I only did one the other week, but it’s just how things have fallen time wise. Hopefully that’s alright.. I don’t want people thinking I’m trying to ‘buy’ followers, it’s just the opportunity has been there recently & it seems daft to let you miss out on goodies! A couple of months ago, some of you may have seen that I went & won the Boohoo #globalstyler competition (eek!).. with the prize being an amazing holiday of a lifetime & some spends at Boohoo. Yep, I did scream quite a bit & spent the day/week skipping around the house. I have...

lust list: ebay goodies

Image
1.  Mesh Turtle Neck , 2.  Pink Sunglasses , 3.  Sports Tee , 4.  Skort , 5.  Chunky Necklace , 6.  See Through Clutch , 7.  Polka Dot Platform Trainers , 8.  Knuckle Phone Case (Samsung Galaxy S3) , 9.  Skort , 10.  'Trust No Bitch' Necklace , 11.  Transparent Boots , 12.  Head Chain , 13.  Neon Clutch , 14.  Blue Sunglasses Pretty random bunch of stuff I’m lusting after today. Once I get on eBay, I get carried away and my wish list gets longer and longer. This time I’ve tried to make sure a few of the bits are from UK sellers. Does anyone else get put off by ordering from some far away country and potentially having to wait 6 months (slight exaggeration) for it to arrive?! I have no patience. The most random thing is probably the phone case. I know it’s a crazy concept that may shock some people, but some of us don’t have IPhones. Ha! I feel like those of us that are lacking i...

Knee High Pastel Socks (£4), 15. Metallic Belt (£4) I was a bit bored of seeing my face on here so thought I’d do a lust list. I got a bit carried away getting all excited about summer, so it’s kind of ended up being a summer holiday wish list. I never normally even think about bikinis or warm weather gear, but seen as this year for the first in 10 I should (hopefully!) be going away I allowed myself a bit of online window shopping. Summer clothes are so exciting aren’t they?! They’re just more bright and lively.. that neon green could perk up any sulky day!  The p...
