SHIRT DRESS AND SANDALS

Image
Right up there with that Topshop floral tea dress, this is one of my favourite summer purchases. I picked it up a few weeks ago at ZARA – it was only £20 so definitely one to keep your eyes peeled for! It wasn’t a planned outfit choice, but I ended up wearing it for Tramlines, Sheffield’s answer to Glasto. I’d gone with the whole shorts & baggy shirt the day before so I was ready to get back to girly vibes… Although I did end up wearing it with ankle boots. Comforrrt for traipsing round town!    I love the little boxy shirt fit – it’s not one I normally go for, but it feels smart-ish. Well, as smart as butt skimming dresses can ever be, but I like that combo all the same. I usually opt for anything that’ll synch in my waist, but it was nice to wear something that meant I could eat as much mac and cheese as possible, without food baby worries. Liiiife. HOLIDAY EVENINGS | THE SLIP DRESS

Image
Dress - Primary / Bag - H&M / Sandals - New Look Day one of the holidays feels like a lonnnng time ago now... I’m still hoping I’ll fit another trip abroad in this year, but with lots of adult-y stuff going off it may have to wait ‘til the next. I so want to travel more. For the first evening I always just go for something comfortable. Chances are I’m a little bit pink and sleepy from traveling, so a relaxed fit is needed. I took a couple of these slip dresses away with me as they’re just right as looser options. Most of them I’ve picked up super cheap in Primark – if it’s just something simple like this I’m not bothered about it being mega fancy. I’m definitely struggling to beat the holiday blues flicking through snaps of that beach setting. Life by the sea is extra lovely.   SHOP THE LOOK JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. BEIGE & BLACK

Image
Sunglasses - Ray Ban, Top - Topshop, Jacket - H&M, Trousers - Charity Shop, Sandals - Office, Bag - H&M These days I don't have so many outdoors pictures up, which I do kind of miss. Over the winter I've just managed to get out of that 'braving it' notion where in previous years I would trudge out to my garden in rain, wind and snow. These snaps were taken by my ma on a little Sunday wander, but I am thinking I want to get back to sticking my tripod outside and taking a few pictures like that. Especially now everything is starting to look much less miserable out and about. This outfit I did post a sort of snippet on Instagram - if you follow me on there it was the one where I felt a bit like Sandy from Grease, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion ha. I love my high waisted stuff and when it's combined with all black it does feel extra flattering. It wasn't warm enough to not cover up reasonably with a jacket, but I did...

LEVI JEANS & A HALTER NECK

Image
Halter Neck - Forever 21, Jeans - Vintage Levi's, Sandals - Office I'm back in these jeans after once again forgetting about them.. how could I forget about old school Levi's?! I keep thinking I might sell them, then I realise the kind of thing I'll want the moment they're gone. Everyone's got to have a good pair of black jeans in their life right? Outfit wise I was just off to my usual haunt (Meadowhall) so I wasn't wearing anything fancy. The top is just one I bought for my jollies that I never got round to wearing (along with a host of other stuff I didn't need) - thankfully there's still a bit of warm weather left meaning I can wear it in sunny/not so sunny Sheffield. The sandals are that pair I've worn to death since I got them. They're not too dressy for day but they make my stubby legs look a tiny bit longer. Winner.  youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr  /  instagram x

SLOUCHY JUMPSUIT

Image
Sunglasses - Skiathos Town, Jumpsuit - Forever 21, Sandals - Office Currently one of my favourite things in my wardrobe at the minute. I've never really been a jumpsuit/playsuit sort of girl - I couldn't really deal with that whole getting naked every time you need a wee thing. I've since altered my aversion for the posh onesie, and now cope with the problem peeing as I like them way too much. I mainly like this one because it's bloody comfy. Beyond comfy in fact. It is a bit like wearing your bedtime onesie for a night out. Since the days of wearing onesies to fancy dress student nights are gone, I'll go for the next best thing. The leg flares out a tad which I think is quite a flattering fit for my somewhat shapely bottom half. The Forever 21 site is full of this sort of thing at the minute & yep, I'm struggling with the online shopping self control.  youtube  /  bloglovin  /  twitter  /  pinterest  /  tumblr ...

NEON KIMONO

Image
Sunglasses - Cosmo Mag Freebie, Choker - eBay, Two Piece - fenchurch c/o Bank Fashion , Sandals - Office Ow I so love just how summery everything is here. Does winter have to ever come back? Yep, the thought of cozy nights in with Snowflake Cookie Yankee Candles & Christmas cake does excite me a little bit, but I know I'd still much prefer an eternal summer.  Really, I think the thing is I just prefer dressing for summer. It's so much easier to just throw on a couple of items rather than layer up to the point where you're not sure if you'll be able to breath in three pairs of tights. I love outfits like this, where it's just about being cool & comfortable - I'm not sure that anything really matches but I quite like the clash. That kimono; the one I wasn't even sure if I'd wear; has become a summer essential.. it may be highlighter yellow but it actually goes with so much in my mostly monochrome wardrobe.  youtube  /  bloglovin...

SOCKS & SANDALS

Image
Sunglasses - Boohoo, Jumper - Amazon Selected Femme, Clutch - Pieces, Skirt - Topshop, Socks - Nike, Sandals - Office Bit of a throwback here, I actually took these pictures for a piece I did for Office's in store magazine (I'm not sure if any of you will have seen it but it was a bit of a 'oh my god, that's me' kind of thing - my mum collected about 8 copies..). So anyhoo, these pictures were taken months and months ago in the dreary pre-spring months, ready for the summer edition. Thankfully, it doesn't look quite as nippy as it actually was.  Now, I will be honest, I'm not sure I'm sold on the whole socks & sandals thaaang. I think it's something quite fun but I'd probably swap for some Mary Jane flats - let's be honest, you wear sandals 'cause you want something cool for your tootsies, not to whack on a pair of chunky socks underneath. Having said that, I do love these Nike socks.. & yep, I'm obviously fancyi...

NEW BIRKENSTOCKS

Image
Sunglasses - Company Mag Freebie, Top & Skirt - Fenchurch c/o Bank Fashion , Coat - H&M, Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza I feel like I should have dedicated a whole post to my shoes alone. Yep, I've jumped on the Birkenstock bandwagon and I'm oh so happy to have done so. I actually had a pair of these when I was younger (probably in some horrendous bright pink or something equally as 'Barbie' esq. They are indeed as comfy as I ever remembered them to be, the kind of slouchy everyday shoe that you want to hug your feet forever and always. Okay, I like to exaggerate, but they are definitely an outdoor version of the slipper. I know not everyone's a fan of the blogger's essential shoe for the summer, but I've already fallen for the hype. For the rest of today's outfit, I went for this mis-matched  fenchurch set. It's kind of sporty but the bodycon fit means I don't feel like a total boy. I'm going to admit that I didn't kno...

VEIL BEANIE & CLEATED SOLES

Image
Beanie - H&M, Coat - Boohoo, Top - Primark, Trousers - Charity Shop, Sandals - c/o La Moda Ummm yep, I'm back in baby pink. I'm trying to get as much wear out of that coat as possible before it's no longer chilly enough for it. I'm hoping that all outwear pastels will continue to be cute next winter.. a couple of months of being able to wrap up like a fluffy marshmallow is not enough for me! Another piece I'm trying to get my last bit of winter wear out of is the veil beanie. I so wish I'd worn this more. It's all dramatic and makes me feel kind of glam in a Joan Collins off to a funeral way. That's the kind of comparison I never thought I'd be making. I was only off to pick up some post (those red slips drive me mad ) so I braved chilly tootsies in my those La Moda cleated sole sandals that I can't stop wearing. I feel like as I'm technically a proper grown up, I need a bit of a heel to make me feel like one. There'...
