I found this jacket
in a charity shop for a bargain price (£6 eeep!). I decided it would make
a good DIY project. I love The Ragged Priest & their customised jackets,
but thought I could have a bash at making my own for much cheaper. I've added a few pictures of how I did it.. you can't really go wrong, it just depends on what look you're going for :)
ORIGINAL
BLEACH
STUDS
DYE
What do you think?! If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.. Oooh & I might pop this on my shop if anyone is interested!

I love a studded denim jacket! The tie-dye looks amazing with it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good, might have a go with one of mine x
ReplyDeleteYES. this looks amazing,x
ReplyDeleteSo clever and so easy to do, how much dye did you add? And did it only go on the bleached bits? x
ReplyDeleteI always just make it up as I go along with the dye ha! I think I used about half a packet, you don't need too much if you're not dying it completely :) It went on the darker bits too but not as much, the darker the colour the more it takes I think xx
Deletethat jacket looks amazing!

Hello Lydia!
ReplyDeleteWOW it looks absolutely amazing.. it looks so professional!
I was wondering what dye did you use and where did you get your studs from? :)
xxx
Thanks love! I used dylon, they do it in wilkos & hobbycraft :) my studs are off an old studded belt from a charity shop, you can find em for like 50p & then I just ping em off! If not you can get them from ebay :) x
DeleteThanks Lydia, that's been really helpful! I'm going to try and do something similar (but it definitely won't be as good as yours!) Oh and how did you attach the studs? xxx
DeleteI just use pliers.. a blunt knife works too :) x
