skater dress & DIY studded socks

Hat - H&M, Choker - DIY, Dress - c/o Cagecity, Belt - Primark, Socks - DIY, Boots - Charity Shop

Who doesn’t love a skater dress?! I don’t think there is any body shape that wouldn’t look nice in one. They’re not like short shorts or crop tops, they’re something we can all rely on, even on the chunky days! I know recently I’ve been feeling like I just want to dress comfy, I can’t cope with being too wrapped up in items that are too restrictive. I think I’ll blame it on long days at uni spent writing my dissertation.. basically, I want to roll in in jogging bottoms & trainers, but even I can’t quite live up to being that much of a ‘student’.

The little sockies are one of the very first things I ever posted on my blog. Surprisingly, the studs have lasted! I expected them to drop out after one wash but I’ve actually worn them loads! I definitely want to make some more over summer when I’ve got more free time. Hopefully I’ll get chance to post a few summer DIY projects!

'Celine me alone' tee..

Hat - H&M, Top - c/o SheInside, Belt - Primark, Jacket - c/o Out & About, Shorts - Charity Shop, Socks - Primark, Creepers - eBay

I’ve gone quite casual today I think. This is usually the sort of thing I go for when I’m off on a little trip with the ‘rents to somewhere exceptionally cool like a garden centre. I’ll be the first to admit that I am not the most exciting of people, and actually love going for a little wander with my mamma. However, that does mean that dressing a bit ‘out there’ can be somewhat off the cards.. oldies just don’t get platform trainers and big bug sunglasses do they?!

I think my version of the Celine tee may have been wasted on the cute old guys too.. it’s definitely made for bloggers! I think the Celine top is the latest cult blogger item. There was the Jeffrey Campbell Litas, the pretend Alexander Wang bag from eBay & now Celine tees have taken the reign. All of which I have never actually owned! I’m not one of those people that decide to not jump on the bandwagon just because everyone has something, I think it’s more about how you wear it. I just always seem to miss the chance & then never get round to joining the hype!

P.S. sorry about looking like an angry little gorilla in the last few pictures, the sun was in my eyes & I think that may just be an expression I pull (WHY?!)..

clueless crop top

Sunglasses - H&M, Top - Stone Fox, Jeans - H&M, Platform Trainers - Charity Shop

We all know I got a big thing for Cher from Clueless, so this top is a massive hit. Her wardrobe is pretty much my dream. If only I lived somewhere mega trendy & could get away with dressing like her every day.

I haven’t worn these jeans for ages, mainly because they limit my capacity to breath. I love them, but golly they take an hour or so of wearing in. I probably should have got them in a bigger size as my booty is definitely trying to escape, but I knew if I had they’d have been too big on the waist. Why do shops think we don’t have waists?! I may also have been having one of those ‘I will get into these jeans even if it kills me’ moments. We’ve all been there.. I hope. Ha.

I went and did a teeny bit of shopping today. You know how it is, the loan comes in & it’s you feel wrong if you don’t have a little treat out of it! Just about all of mine goes on rent, so a little Primark spree was needed. Cannot wait to show you the goodieees.

black backless bodycon

Hat - c/o Once Upon A Time, Dress - c/o Hedonia, Belt - Primark, Silver Cuff - H&M, Silver Bracelet - Primark, Boots - c/o Missguided

I love how my blog is like a little diary of my year. I’ve gone through sunshine, snow & rain. Finally, the flowers are back. Hello Spring!

I’m back in a body con. Normality has been restored. This dress is rather tight around my booty, but I don’t mind extra sucky in action in that department. Gotta take all the help you can get ey?! The dress has just been reduced to £12.. even for me that’s a bargain! If it’s over £20, I’m going to struggle to part with my pennies. Enough about me being tight, how hot is the cut out back? I always think that flashing your back is the safest way to get a bit of flesh out. You don’t have to worry about orange peel or a food baby. Yes to that.

Have I got a thing for wearing beanies with fancy dresses, or is it just beanies in general? I think it's probably the latter.. I need no excuse to pop one on my head.

love hearts & velvet

Sunglasses - H&M, Top - c/o Pretty Little Thing, Dress - Topshop, Bag - c/o Pineapple, Frilly Socks - Primark, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

Sorry that I’m always wearing sunglasses lately! I’ve once again got into the habit of hiding behind big round frames. Looking like a bug in every post is not okay. Ha.

It’s now got to the time of year where you feel like a dope wearing warm clothes, yet it’s still pretty chilly. UGH. The velvet ‘skirt’ is actually that sleeveless Topshop dress that everyone went mad for a while back. I was wanting to wear it & feel all girly, but didn’t think I could handle having my arms out & getting goosebumpley. On went the mesh crop top.  I know people sometimes think I must be freezing my bits off in the outfits I wear, but I’m always adding extra layers.. the thing is, some of the layers I add aren’t actually that cute. Ha. Does anyone else have one or two (maybe multiple..) ugly jumpers that they just cannot bear to part with?! I'm always throwing mine on with stuff & ruining outfits!

the watermelon dress

Sunglasses - H&M, Dress - c/o Drop Dead Clothing, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

Ahh for me this dress has completely flown off the cute scale! When I saw it I had a ‘NEED’ moment. I’d actually painted my nails to look like watermelons a few days earlier (pictures on Instagram: fashioninflux) & so I thought I could take my fruity fling further. It’s becoming a regular occurrence that my posts become potential Halloween/fancy dress outfits.. says a lot about the clothes I wear really. Ha.

I mainly got this dress thinking it would be good for summer popped over a bikini. Admittedly, it is rather short so I’d be needing some shorts underneath to protect me from giving everyone an awkward booty flash. Can’t be having that. I’m usually more into a body con fit but I actually like how this dress looks. It isn’t too smock like that it makes you look like you’re smuggling cake/a small infant underneath it. To me it’s more like a baby doll sort of thing.. probably because it is naughtily short!

Can we make fruit inspired dresses a new trend please? Ha.

lust list - S/S goodies!

1. Black Bodysuit (£25), 2. Pink Bikini Top (£16) & Pink Bikini Bottoms (£12), 3. Halter Top (£28), Neon Bag (£16.75), 5. Sunflower Sunglasses (£5.99), 6. Neon Swimsuit (£19.90), 7. Pork Pie Hat (£10.65), 8. Pinafore Dress (£45), 9. Pink Sunglasses (£5.99), 10. Denim Bum Bag (£18), 11. Neon Socks (£4), 12. Floral Sunglasses (£9.99), 13. Embellished Beanie (£30), 14. Knee High Pastel Socks (£4), 15. Metallic Belt (£4)

I was a bit bored of seeing my face on here so thought I’d do a lust list. I got a bit carried away getting all excited about summer, so it’s kind of ended up being a summer holiday wish list. I never normally even think about bikinis or warm weather gear, but seen as this year for the first in 10 I should (hopefully!) be going away I allowed myself a bit of online window shopping. Summer clothes are so exciting aren’t they?! They’re just more bright and lively.. that neon green could perk up any sulky day!

The pink bikini is definitely one of my favourites. I dress quite grungy, but given the chance I will go out of my way to get all glammed up. I’m secretly a wannabe TOWIE extra. Ha. I’m not sure if the bottoms would look so great on my rather ample booty, but I think it’s worth the risk.

How amazing are the three pairs of sunnies?! I have a silly amount of sunglasses considering the weather is generally rubbish. I spend a lot of time hiding my make up less face behind them.. hmm maybe that is justification enough to get another pair or so! If I see the H&M sunflower ones in store I know I’ll end up getting them. Whenever they have something cheap & a bit wacky like that I always get sucked into buying them. No. Self. Control.

vest dress & velvet shirt

Head Chain - DIY, Sunglasses - Primark, Vest - c/o Drop Dead Clothing, Velvet Shirt - Charity Shop, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens

I made this little head chain the other day, like I needed another form of procrastination?! I had loads of bits of gold chain left from last summer, my crafty craze for that year was making bits of jewellery. I think it turned out quite nice, I could have just done with a few extra glitzy bits to put on the front. Sometimes I do get bored of my hair, if I’m not wearing some sort of hat then it’s just down.. a pretty head chain is something different I suppose. The choker is also just something I found lying around in my leftover DIY bits & bobs.. I know a few people have asked me where I get them from but it’s just a bit of ribbon tied at the back! You’ve gotta make do with what ya got. Ha!

I think I was feeling a bit Coachella inspired when I got dressed up.. I think if I’d have been there I’d be wearing something like this. Rainy Sheffield doesn’t quite have the scope for boho chic attire. Does Vanessa Hudgens perhaps want to swap lives/wardrobes/general appearance please?!

black dungarees & a bowler hat

Hat - H&M, Crop Top - c/o SheInside, Dungarees - Missguided, Boots - Dr. Martens

How the heck have I only just got round to blogging about my staple dungarees?! I got these a month or so ago and have worn them that much that I think I just assumed that I’d already posted about them! I’m a dope. They’re my ‘go-to’ item when I want to look kind of smart but not too fancy. I always wear them on shopping trips with my mamma, when I’m off on a mini spending spree I like to get a bit dressed up.. it makes it feel like more of a treat!

Admittedly, I never wear these dungarees with anything too crazy.. I like how they look with some sort of crop top & so that’s what I usually go for. I think flashing a bit of midriff at the side is kind of cute too. Sometimes it’s best to stick to what you know ey?!  I also have a crop top collection that is way bigger than it should be.. really, I should be living in LA or chilling at Coachella right now! Ohhh that would be perfect for my very impractical wardrobe.
